What wonderful service. The geek really knows his stuff. He was on time, knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. I was having problems with my printer. It didn't work. But he untangled the mess I'd made trying to fix it my self, and then fixed it--like magic, the way only a certified geek could have done. That was months ago, and it's still working. Also, it seems to me that I wrote a review for my certified geek right after he fixed my printer, But Angie says I didn't, so here it is. His grade is A+. I would and will use him again. I would reccommend him to anyone. And he comes to you, which is really convenient. Thank you, my certified Geek! And thank you Angie.
Description of Work: It went very well from beginning to end. Excellent service--a straight A.I had bought a new dell printer to go with my new dell computer and could never get it to print. I got no help from Dell, so I turned to Angie and found My Computer Geek. I have been happy ever since then. HE untangled my printer confusion, and taught me a lot of things I had always wanted to know about computers and printers but had not learned. Hence , it was a valuable experiencein a hands on technical way and also in an educational way. The geek was very helpful.

Said he would be at our home at noon on Sunday. He did not arrive as scheduled nor did he contact us to say he could not make it. When I called to find out where he was I just got a voice mail saying the next available technician would call back. His ad says he works alone so where is the next available technician.

Dear Member, I would like to offer you both an apology. I do recall speaking with them a few months ago, and decided to research my notes for the month in question. I discovered that you are correct: On Nov 20, 2011 I did have an appointment with him for 12:00pm with a cell phone number noted. I wish I could tell you why I did not keep our appointment, but it has been so long since then I honestly do not recall. I promise it is not a routine business practice to stand my clients up, and I would really like to make it up to you for the inconvenience. I believe in customer service, and that if you (the service provider) do not respect your customers for their time and money, then you do not deserve their business. Although you've likely already had your needs addressed by a competitor -- I would still like to offer a one-time complementary service call (labor) for any future trouble you may experience. There really isn't much more I can offer, other than my apology and to do my best to 'make it right' for free. To address your other commentary regarding the telephone greeting that states "all of our technicians are..." - You're right about that also, and here is why it is worded that way; 1) Many callers believe that my business telephone number is a cell phone or direct line to me. They try to send text messages asking for rates and quotes, and then get irritated if I do not respond while with clients. I find texting for business unprofessional for many reasons, but the greeting is worded as to let callers know it is business specific, and not a direct line to me. Also the business line is able to be answered by a hired service if I do not answer it fast enough. 2) When small-to-medium businesses call for service and determine they are speaking directly to a person in the company with decision-making authority with rates for service, they try to haggle. I refuse to negotiate rates because I already provide very discounted service to households with students, and also standard rate is $70/hr which is well below the industry rate of $100/hr + a trip fee by less educated techs in my field. Those are a few of my reasons. I hope you were just expressing your frustration for the in ability to reach me, because I almost felt as if you were insinuating that I am a dishonest person or providing a false representation. My business is not made of smoke and mirrors, and I have gone through lengths to make sure I am more legit than most of my competitors with proper licensing, permitting, and taxation of my income. Regardless, I thank you for bringing it to my attention that I missed our appointment. I am being sincere in saying I apologize. He was excellent. I am up and running again. He was extremely honest and professional. He brought me all the receipts for the purchases. I check the prices at Frye's and Office Depot beforehead. So I knew his price was good.
Description of Work: He ordered my computer from Costco, set it up, got a wireless mouse, spent an hour making sure every works and how to use it, then spent another hour untangling the wires underneath the desk and attempted to transfer the files from my old computer. He's also on call for me for a month.

We are extremely pleased and have found our very own computer geek!!! Walter T is very trustworthy and this was important to us, given he had access to very confidential files and was working in our home. He is extremely knowledgeable, yet articulate to common folks like us that are not computer specialists. We recommend My Certified Geek company without reservation. We could not have expected a better experience!!!
Description of Work: Walter T. initially came to provide a technical consultation for our small business computer. We were concerned about the speed of the system and wanted to have the maximum security to protect our client files. He installed a router to ensure a firewall of the main system. The first consult was so amazing and professional, we decided to have Walter come again to set up a lap top at another location and duplicate the functionality we had in the main location. We also had him assist in syncing our various systems and devices (including two droids, and outlook files), Our files were being kept in multiple locations, and it was redundant and confusing. Walter was able to trouble shoot and help set up our e-mails such that all devices are now synced.
