Excellent...punctual, personable and knowledgable...and most of all took the time to explain what type of lock it was and that it was worth keeping. He just fixed the latch and then I asked if he could check several locks throughout the house. He did, and was so courteous and cordial that I wondered if he was too good to be true. He was great and the bill was very reasonable for the work performed. Highly recommended.

It's fixed! The lock is working, and the deadbolt is working. The locksmith came immediately, and knew exactly how to fix it.

Fixed the garage door latch bolt right away. The patio door lock mechanism was broken, so they had to order a new mechanism, but there were no model numbers visible. So they took dimensions and managed to find a replacement through their distributor(s). They ordered the part and installed it a few weeks later, after it arrived from the manufacturer.. Appointments were easily made, and at convenient times. They were in frequent contact about the status of the order, etc. Overall, excellent service.

I called and scheduled on Monday. On Tuesday I received a call notifying me they could come earlier if that was convenient, so Craig came over right away. He was polite and friendly and performed the service exactly as requested.

The technician was very honest about why I might not need some the work I requested, so I opted not to do the work. I greatly appreciated his honesty!

Joe came out and started work. He told me that the new gate was too thick and uneven. I asked what my options were. He said either a padlock or the deadbolt. Since I had the gate built specifically to accommodate a deadbolt my impression was that the deadbolt would be flush and not protruding because of the thickness. The result ruined the new gate. I was very upset when I saw the result. Joe told me it was the fault of the fence company. I sent pictures to them and spoke to the owner. He said he does this gate all the time and has never had any problems with people having deadbolts installed and suggested I get a new locksmith. I called Brucar and was told to email the owner. I emailed photos to Amy and she was immediately responsive and then she said she'd talk to Joe and call me. She called me the next day, I believe. She said Joe insists that what was done was the only solution besides a padlock. I told her that I was leaving for vacation but that upon my return I would need to have everyone meet to find a solution to fix what was done. I have had to do extensive research to figure this out. I contacted the maker of the deadbolt Joe installed, Schlage. I spoke to their customer service and sent them photos and gate measurements and was told "when it came to deadbolts having to be extended evenly only......when it comes to deadbolts the only things required to be longer are the screws and the tailpiece. So even if you specify the lock @ 3.0'' EE and your gate is not 3.0'' EE but is 3.0 EO, EI no matter because the screws and tailpiece will accommodate any extended door as long as it is in that particular range." Additionally, Schlage also stated that the door would have be fixed because the locksmith bored too big of a hole. I have contacted three other of the highest rated locksmiths on Angies list and gave them a photo of the gate with the measurements. All three had different solutions. I met with Joe from Brucar and Doug from Finest Fence on June 16th. Joe still insisted what he did was the only solution. I asked them both to come up with a solution to fix the gate. I emailed both companies photos, drawings etc. I tried to tell Joe and show him what other locksmiths and Schlage said but he was insistent that what he did was the only solution besides a padlock. Amy emailed me shortly after my meeting with Joe asking me what Schlage said and I responded but after a week I had no response so I following up. She told me that Joe was working 15 hrs a day and thanked me for my patience. It has now been two weeks since I met with Joe and they have not contacted me to resolve this situation. I have attached photos that are supported by Angies list complaint resolution dept but I have additional drawings etc that support my argument. Update 9/16: The repairs to the gate were made and new deadbolt is now installed. I?m attaching photos to show that it was indeed possible to do it correctly and that the fence company did not install the lockbox unevenly as Brucar claimed.

Brucar Locksmith work very fast. They were in and out in less than one hour. Previously, we had our go to Locksmiths located here in Malibu. It was such a pain to deal with them and getting a scheduled time was close to impossible. Brucar are some of the nicest people to deal with, everyone from the receptionist to the guys that come out to service our home. I highly recommend Brucar Locksmith to anyone in Malibu, Thousand Oaks, Westlake, and the surrounding areas.

Joe arrived on time, got down to business and did what we asked him and then some. He cautioned us about one lock above our door that would be problematic in case of fire, and cautioned us about it. He obviously is very thorough in his assessments. He was very personable and knowledgeable. He made sure to clean up the wood shavings from the work he did on the door. Much appreciated.

I called Brucar Locksmith in the morning and was told that a serviceman would be at my house between 1 and 3pm today (same day). 15 minutes before serviceman came I received a phone call confirming ETA which was very close to 1pm (so no waiting around). Joe was in and out within less than 15 minutes. He assessed the problem, showed me the broken part and then repaired lock. There was no mess left behind, door works like a dream, well worth the money. Overall absolutely excellent service!

Friendly staff helped me with a broken mailbox cam lock. Staff answered all my questions and offered more assistance is needed.

Brucar Locksmith came the same day that we called them, on time, about 3 hours after we called. Lock was completely repaired and Joe provided free advice about the lock and alternatives. Great service and great work.
