American West Appliance Repair

Decided to take a chance and fix it myself. Ordered the part which cost $109 plus $12 shipping. Installed it myself in about 30 minutes. An experienced repairman could have installed it in about 15 minutes. So his labor rate works out to $880 per hour. Of course you have to include his time to get to your house from wherever he was but I believe the labor cost is still excessive.

I've used them a few times and they are always good. At one time they installed a dishwasher. They are dependable and honest. The last job was great.

My repair was scheduled from 12 noon to 2PM and I got a call at 1:30 that the repair person was running late and would be there by 2:15 and he did arrive by 2:15. He was not able to finish the job on 4/15 as he need to get additional tubing that he did not have on the truck so we rescheduled for the next day 4/16 between 8AM and 9AM and he arrived approx. 8:15 which was very good. He did not bring his own ladder so he had to use mine but he was able to fix the water line and I now have water from my refrigerator. The company had a 30% off on the web site for Angies list but he only gave me a total price and I do not know how this was calculated. Did I get a discount - I doubt it. I thought the price was high but I needed the water to be working so I paid the asking price.

Technician Yuri was great - very professional and did an excellent job.

The service representative turned up within the 2 hour window as promised. My 9 year old LG washing machine was not draining. He knew what the problem was, had the replacement Drain Pump part in his truck and was able to repair it immediately. The machine is running well and the cost of repair far our ways what it would have been to purchase a new one. I would recommend this company to a friend.

Water was leaking from underneath my refrigerator as well as into my freezer whenever I had the ice maker on. American West sent Igor out that same morning (within 2 hrs). He evaluated the situation quickly & said the problem was a leaking valve & filter. He defrosted & de-iced the freezer & then placed a new filter & valve. He worked quickly & efficiently & seemed to know what he was doing. There was a bit of a language barrier, so I didn't understand everything he was saying; however I was happy with the job he did & his level of expertise. I would not hesitate to call American West Appliance Repair for future appliance problems.

Had a call before to let me know tec. was on his way. Came right on time and figured out the problem quickly. He was helpful and very professional. I would call them again if I need something repaired.

Everything turned out well. They showed up on time and did a good job. They gave us a low price as well. They cleaned up well and gave us their card if we need anything else.

From the very first phone call, courteous, prompt, and targeted service. Highly recommend. The technician arrived early, much appreciated, since we needed that dryer. He gave us the Angie's List discount without even being asked. He was clean, pleasant, and efficient.

We called American West Appliance to help with a stove burner that wasn't working. Mike came out and fixed the problem by simply cleaning all the components and lining up the element with the gas source. We probably could have done that ourselves but didn't think of it. The job was done promptly and thoroughly. The next time we called American West we had trouble getting the oven to work and also needed to replace the broken glass window. A previous estimate from another company was $900. Mike came out and gave us an estimate of closer to $500. He reset the switch to get it to work and showed our son how to do it the next time, if necessary. He also ordered the glass window kit, took our oven door to his shop and fixed the door quickly. I called about the coupon on Angie's List and they honored it. I will call American West again, if I need appliance repairs.

They were timely ( the next day) and efficient. The repair man was very efficient, if not overly friendly. But what do I care, I wanted my washer fixed, not a new BFF. The impressive thing was that when I had the same error message come up again, a week later, they came out and replaced the defective part for free! Now, I can do laundry. more expensive than previous quotes, but worth it.

He knew immediately what the problem was and told me that the repairs would cost more than a new washer. The drum/bearings were broken and the repairs would be about $800. He let me know that if I chose to repair my washer, it would likely break again within 2 years. He'd obviously seen this issue before. I appreciated his honesty and would use American West again.

My GE refrigerator was dying a slow death. I called American West Appliance Repair because their initial fee for diagnostics was $35, the average is $65. I called other companies to compare. The technician came out within a couple of hours of my call and diagnosed the problem as a failed control board. The part was stocked and he installed it right away. He was very professional and courteous. From the phone call to the end of repair I was very happy. Great experience!

My refrigerator stopped making ice. I called American West Appliance because I used their service in the past. The receptionist was very efficient and helpful. The technician knew what he was doing. He quickly diagnosed the problem, had a brand new ice maker on hand and replaced the part very fast. I was very impressed. American West was not only prompt and courteous but reasonably priced as well.

I called American West after I realized that my refrigerator was not cold at all. I spoke to Helen who was very helpful and sweet. She set up an appointment the same day. The technician was knowledgeable and polite. He quickly determined that the problem was with the starter relay and capacitor. He had the necessary parts and fixed the fridge right away. I have known American West for over 3 years. Their repairmen are reliable and very hard working. They really take care of their customers.

My dryer was not heating up so I called American West Appliance, the company I had found on Angie's List last year. They came out within 3 hours of making my call. They offered 30% discount on labor and replaced gas valve coils within 30 minutes. Prompt arrival, efficient use of time, easy to work with, more-than-fair price. I can't say enough good things about these folks. If you want the best at a very reasonable price, American West Appliance is who to call.

He arrived promptly; looked at the situation and immediately knew what was wrong. He had to go out for a part and quoted me a price. I contacted the manufacturer and called him with the price they quoted me. When he returned with the part, ht was less than he had previously quoted me and he quoted me a price of a bit over $200. When he presented me with the bill it was for $193, less than his quote. I couldn't believe it. A rare find in this day and age.

Igor arrived promptly and on time. He looked at the dishwasher, wrote down the model number and called his office and ordered a new control panel. I asked him about the mold and he said I just needed to run a cleaner through it and it would be fine. He never looked at the mold. When I asked him if this cleaner would take care of it, he assured me it would. Well, when the dishwasher cycle finished, I opened my dishwasher and the one problem is fixed, but I still have mold. I called him and he was so annoyed that I called that I decided to call his office instead. This is when Helen told me that I would have to call another company because they did not handle those kinds of calls. WHAT? This was one of the reasons I called them. While they fixed the one thing....at NO point did they indicate to me they would not handle this part of the job. As I began to express my dissatisfaction and that I feel that they were dishonest in their dealings with me, Helen thanked me for my business and hung up on me. I paid them $360 for a job that is half done. I feel they were dishonest with me. I would not recommend using this company at all.

I discovered that my oven was not heating properly 3 days before I was to give a large party. As it was after 9pm, I called and left a voicemail message with American West Appliance Repair. I received a call from them at 8:15 the next morning and they promised to have someone out between 10am and 12pm. As it turned out, their repairman, Fred, called at 8:45 to let me know he was on his way. He diagnosed the problem quickly (a worn out igniter) and fixed it. He noted a similar problem with my broiler, which I hadn't noticed because I use my broiler less frequently. I told him to go ahead and take care of that too. It cost a little more but afterwards, my oven was as good as new and I had one less thing to worry about before my party.

They were able to scheduling me in very quickly. One technician came out to do the work, he went through incremental steps to figure out the problem. He really made sure to figure out what was wrong with the refridgerator. He also showed me how to put in the water filter for the future. The technician really went above and beyond for us.

Fred diagnosed the problem - needs a new MotherBoard (ouch!), had the required part in his truck. Replaced. Also replaced the water filter. Fridge/freezer back to cooling within ONE HOUR of Fred showing up! Nice & polite.

Fred, the repairman, was exceptionally thorough. He came on time, and diagnosed the problem quickly. i would definitely use the company again, and would request Fred because of his work and his kindness. Thank you to Angie's List for helping me find this company.
