American West Appliance Repair

I have a 32 year old refrigerator that has been working wonderfully, except it started to make a lot of noise in the freezer one evening when I was putting away frozen food and bumped the back of the freezer wall. Figured the fan was going, so I got on Angie's List and found the ratings for American West Appliances. Contacted the office who scheduled me for my requested Saturday appointment since I work. Igor and his son Oleg came out, both of them very professional, very polite and very much on the job workers. They replaced the evaporator motor and blades in the freezer with a universal replacement, spent time to make sure it was done right, not rushed, and answered my questions patiently. I am pleased that a month later the refrigerator is humming quietly away doing its job. Too bad new refrigerators on the market are made to last five years or so; I hear nothing but complaints at my office from co-workers buying new and feeling they are getting poor quality. My Kenmore is still going thanks to Igor and Oleg, thank you both so much!

After he looked at the dishwasher and found out how much the parts would cost to fix it, he told me it would probably be cheaper to just buy a new dishwasher. Though, obviously he was happy to fix the issue if I chose to. I am a new homeowner and greatly appreciated his honesty. After doing some research I saw that he was very correct, and just went with a new washer. I would definitely use this company again. The person they have answering the phones is very friendly and efficient. It was an over all good experience.

Our GE gas oven stopped working. I called American West Appliance and they sent Mike within a couple of hours. He immediately diagnosed the problem with our oven, replaced bake glow igniter and made sure everything was working. This was exactly what I was expecting from a service provider: to arrive on time, to be honest and affordable.

We called American West Appliance Repair on 7/11/2015 regarding ice maker not producing ice cubes. We could not believe that someone would come out on Saturday within 2 hours of making the telephone call. Mike came out to check our ice maker by removing it. He determined that it was not working. The water valve was working properly and water line was not blocked. He had a brand new original GE ice maker on his truck. Within a few hours after installation a new ice maker was producing ice. The technician was nice and professional.

I called them and the person who ansered the phone spoke english as a second language and did not know what I was talking about. After 3 try's of trying to explain to her what was wrong I just give up and just hung up. I WOULD NOT USE THEM EVER.

Our a/c stopped cooling during this heat wave. We called American West Appliance and they sent technician almost immediately. He replaced capacitor and replenished Freon. The job was done professionally and accurately. We appreciate their quick response and fair price.

Our central air conditioner broke during this recent heat wave. We called American West Appliance Repair because we used them on several different occasions in the past. It was Saturday morning and we could not believe that somebody would come out on Saturday and rescue us. But the technician was at the door within 2 hours after we spoke with Helen. The same guy who fixed our refrigerator a couple of years ago. We were so happy to see him again. He checked our rooftop air conditioning system and replaced faulty capacitor. The unit has been working perfectly ever since.

They were fabulous, I haven't had that accommodating of a provider in quite some time.

Our LG washing machine was leaking, so we called American West Appliance, because we used their service in the past. The technician got here right on time with all the parts. He replaced the boot and we were back in business doing laundry from one family visit and getting ready for our next guests. The technician made sure that everything was fixed to our satisfaction. He even wiped the floor after repair was finished. Thanks to Angie's List we found these wonderful people and can always count on them for great service, good attitude and fair price.

They responded the same day, which was significant because I called 2 other Angie list providers who could not provide service for several days. They correctly diagnosed the problem, confirmed with the manufacturer, ordered the part and installed it the next day. In addition, a problematic noise that the refrigerator was making separate and apart from the freezing issue was solved with a nice taping job on the piping in the back of the refrigerator. All in all, we could not be more pleased with the result and would not hesitate to use them again.

Technician Igor is a very no-nonsense, and rather non-personable guy. He makes it very clear that he's there to do a job and not interested at all in chit chat. I think that's fine, but there's a line at which you're being rude -- not just professional and no-nonsense. After diagnosing the problem he gave us a repair cost of $320.00, but said that he would "discount" the price to $240. After he saw that I was hemming and came down to $230. and while I appreciate the discount, I'd really have preferred just simple, clear pricing up front. I don't want to be haggling in my garage if I can help it. Plus, it makes the pricing seem rather arbitrary IMO. The larger problem came when I told him that my oven wasn't heating up fast enough. I figured while he was there perhaps he could take a look. Only makes sense - right? Why have him come out again? And if it was a small enough repair I'd certainly go for it. I thought it needed to be calibrated and he explained that it did not. He came into the house and within 10 minutes told us that we needed a new ignitor at a cost of $230.00 (funny how it was the same price as the fridge repair). Well, we just weren't prepared to pay that exactly at that time, after shelling out the $$ for the fridge repair, so we explained that it'll have to wait. We thanked him for the diagnosis. At this point he put the panel back, grabbed his bag and stormed out -- without so much as a thank you or goodbye. He was clearly not happy. Great work (I think) -- just not very nice or professional.

When we noticed the refrigerator leaking we called American West and a repairman arrived and stopped the leak within two hours. We were completely satisfied.

The experience with this appliance repair company was what everyone hopes for. Very suddenly, our refrigerator began leaking a large amount of water from the door water dispenser -- so much water that we could not leave the house for more than about four hours because it would entirely fill a glass of water we set under it. We tried calling the company that built it and was left on hold for a very long period of time and then just disconnected. We decided to try a local repair company, because we've always had a good experience with Angie's List Contractors. We can't tell you what a good experience this was. Since it was somewhat urgent, even though the company showed no available appointments, we explained the situation in the contact email from Angie's List. They got back to us within the hour; they made time to come out the next morning, determined quickly what part was needed. They would have to get the part and return the next business day, but they were able to slow down the leaking water enough that a day could pass. Helen promptly communicated that they had the part and that Igor would be back the next business day, and true to form, he was. He was on time both times. They kept in touch very well. Installation of the part went smoothly and the refrigerator has not leaked a drop since. We cannot imagine how bad it would have been dealing with Kitchen-Aid. Our experience with you was terrific! We highly recommend America West Appliance Repair and can't say enough good things about the company. No one likes an appliance breaks, but If your appliance does, they're who you want to speak with. This is a no nonsense guy. He will diagnose a problem quickly and give you the cost to fix it. He came a few months ago to fix our ice maker on the same frig and that repair went fine as well.

The tech showed up within the time frame provided but arrived in a car with one small hand bag. He had to ask for a step stool and proceeded to remove the control panel. He said he reset it, but didn't think that would help. He called for the part and informed us that it was no longer available. I asked if he had a thermometer so we could determine what temperature the oven was reaching. He Did Not Have One. That was it.

American West was one of only a few businesses that worked on the Samsung brand and could come that day. They showed up in just a few hours and were done within a few minutes. Cost exactly what they quoted.

We called American West Appliance to repair a problem with our oven. The service man arrived at the appointed time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He had the required part and promptly completed the repair. This was our third experience with this vendor. The entire repair process was very professional and the price was more than fair.

The service level was astonishing! Within an hour of her phone call, my wife reports that the problem was fixed, and the washer was operational again. Granted, the part (at cost) is very inexpensive. But a huge part of overall value (to me, at least) is the expertise to diagnose the problem, timeliness, and ease of scheduling. In those important areas, it would be very hard to beat American West.

As soon as the part was available, Fred picked it up from his supplier, and repaired the machine. So far, so good!

Everything went well. I was not home but my son was home and the technician came and performed the job to fix our refrigerator.

The poorest customer service --- repairman comes takes $45 then says hey you need to order parts yourself really!!!! Then why do I need you? I would not recommend these guys to my worst enemy. These guys should be ashamed to call themselves repair men.

The diagnosis took one trip with the repair part needing to be ordered. The repair was done in an efficient and professional manner. The criticism I have is the labor cost. From the time the technician arrived to the completion on the repair it was approximately 45 minutes. The labor cost was $180. This includes a $35 service call. So the hourly rate translates to approximately $193 per hour. The cost for an hour of labor at most auto dealer service department is $105. It doesn't seem to me the rate per hour is about 80% higher.

My refrigerator quit making ice. I called American West to see what's going on. I used them in the past. They sent a nice tech, who was on time and very friendly. I thought that ice maker needed to be replaced. But Mike the technician determined that there was no water coming to the ice maker. He replaced a water valve and my ice maker has been working perfectly. Good job!

Very good. Diagnosed right away and did work. Great!

I called in the morning about an issue with my Kenmore dryer and the repairman was at my house within 2 hours. I am very satisfied with their professionalism and efficiency. The technician was courteous and diligent in doing his job. Not to say the least their rate was very reasonable. My dryer works fine now. I would use this company again.
