Description of Work: My 4 year old dishwasher started leaking. American West came out, found the problem and fixed it. They came out on time, were very nice and sympathetic to our frustration that obviously this dishwasher (a Kitchen Aide) was not built to last! I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Replaced 2 sensors which governed the gas on off rotation. The service man came out right away that day, had the parts on the truck and fixed it. The repairman was pleasant and I got the sense he was honest. The price seems like a lot, but I have nothing to compare it to and we did receive the Angies discount it would have been $280, so maybe it was a deal?

Description of Work: Took apart washing machine, replaced pump and connecting hose. The technition was there within an hour of calling. He had to work in a difficult situation and did so with no complaining. He was conscious of not harming things around him.

Description of Work: Replaced a motor on my sub zero fridge. It then worked for 3 days. He came right back and found there was freon leaking. Replaced motor again..and patched up the hole...he was hoping it would work..me too! It's been a month and so far so good...the fridge is 15 yrs old and expensive to replace...so hope this works!

Description of Work: I THOUGHT m dishwasher was malfunctioning! I screwed up and was the cause of the malfunction. I was charged a very reasonable service call fee and the service rep, took me through the how tos of loading the dishwasher, which types of detergents to use and to avoid, which rinses to use/avoid. |AND he didn't make me feel like the dope I was! It actually was VERY worth the Service call fee for all that I learned!

Description of Work: My dryer stopped tumbling. I called American West on Friday afternoon and they scheduled an appointment for Saturday between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. Their technician, Fred, arrived early at about 10:15 a.m. The initial thought was to take the dryer to the shop for repair, but I pointed out the difficulty in getting it through the doorway (on which I had a retractable screen door installed which narrowed it by a good inch or two). So, Fred took the dryer apart on-site, figured out that I needed a new motor (which I had been told by another handyman), quickly called the warehouse (which closes at noon on Saturday), picked up the new motor, installed it and put the dryer back together by 1:00 p.m. Fred was a pleasure to work with and It's been running beautifully ever since. It was a great experience.

Description of Work: My 20-year old subzero ice maker was leaking. Technician checked the ice maker and told me I would need to replace it which would cost about $500. I didn't replace it. I have a functioning ice maker in the bar freezer and will rely on that. However while he was here he discovered that the 20-yr. old freezer was not getting cold enough. He refilled the freezer side with freon and did a major clean-out of the condenser.

Description of Work: I called American West to come and fix our washing machine which would not start. They scheduled an appointment for us the very next morning. The repairman showed up right on time and took less than ten minutes to figure out that we did not actually need a repair -- he was able to start the machine for us. We paid a very reasonable fee for the call and were very pleased with the attitude, professionalism and capability of the service man. We will definitely use American West for any future repairs we might need.
