American West Appliance Repair

I called American West Appliance Repair and spoke to Helen, who was very friendly and professional. She set up my appointment for the next day with a 3 hour window. I asked that the technician call one half hour before. The technician, Igor, was prompt and very knowledgeable. He gave me a price for the job, and fixed the washer, which now works perfectly. I will absolutely refer the company to others, and will use them again in the future.

They were expensive, They did do a nice job. My refridgerator is still working. They were prompt. They answered and returned my call quickly.

We needed a new ignitor switch for our aging maytag performa oven. Fred was prompt, courteous, showed me the problem, had the parts in his truck, and installed everything within an hour. It was a great experience. I would definitely use this company again for appliance repairs.

I contacted Helen regarding my dryer; she was able to schedule Vitaliy to come out that day. The charge for the evaluation service call was $35.00 - to be applied to the total bill were I to elect to schedule the repair through American West. Vitaliy arrived on time & identified the problem as a bad heat relay switch within 15 minutes. He did not have the necessary part but quoted quoted me $150 on the labor. I gave him the Angie's List 30% off coupon and he reduced the labor charge to $105. I scheduled the repair and was told he would return in a couple days. The next day I was called by Helen and told that Vitaliy could be at my home within 10 minutes. Fortunately, I had time available and scheduled the repair. Vitaliy arrived, removed the top control cover of the dryer without moving the dryer and replaced the faulty relay switch. The repair took less than 10 minutes. I paid him & he left. Al in all, I found the repair service provided by American West professional & competent. My chief concern was the charge for labor. Deducting the $35 for the evaluation call, I was charged $115.00, before discount, for a repair that took less than 20 minutes. Even adding in the return call, a charge of $345.00 p/hr seems high. Perhaps this is standard in the industry - it still seems excessive.I will use their service again & feel confident in recommending their quality & competency.

They were able to come out the same day. Service was prompt and thorough.

Fred came out the morning after we called. After looking at a couple of things the fridge motor mysteriously came back on. It started cooling, so he left and only charged the trip charge. He said the fridge might stop running again. It did continue to give us trouble but would always start up again before the appointment. Fred finally helped us diagnose it over the phone while it was acting up, and was able to replace the correct part. We have not had any trouble since. He definitely knows what he is doing with refrigerators, and we would definitely call him again in the future.

I have used them three or four times. Their technicians are completely reliable and very hard workers. They guarantee all of their work but I have never needed them to come back. They are very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend.

Igor arrived on time, but was brusque and looked annoyed. I had taken washing machine cover off to see if the water hose split or some other problem was evident that would require a part to bring. No broken items I could see. Igor arrived and his demeanor is noted previously. He put the washer back and checked to see that all was working correctly. The service desk was friendly and arranged for an appointment on the next business day. I would give them a try at another repair, but would ask for a different service technician.

American West Appliance is the second company we have had come out. The first company representative told me we had too much food in the Refrigerator/Freezer. And if that didn't help the temperatures return to normal, then it would be a very expensive repair. The American West rep told me that he thought the issue was freon, but that the repair would likely be covered under our warranty. He recommended that we call the manufacturer directly about the issue. In essence, his expertise and honesty will save us hundreds of dollars. I highly recommend using this company and will if a need arises in the future.

We have an 11 year old Viking refrigerator that was not keeping cool enough. Yuri arrived and diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes and replaced the fan in half an hour. The fridge is now nice and cold. American West has technicians who are specifically trained to service particular high-end brands, and I was more than happy to wait an extra day so that they could send a technician who was trained to service Viking appliances. Yuri definitely knew what he was doing and the price was more than fair.

I called and the repairman arrived at my home 1/2 hr. later. I had a coupon from Angie's List for 30% off labor. He was here no more than about 15 min. The bill showed parts $35.00, tax 3.06, labor $130.00 - total $168.06. I asked about the 30% off the labor and he said it was already taken off. That certainly is possible - however, the bill should show the regular labor charge, and then the discounted labor amount. I called the company to check and got an answer that they couldn't charge less than $130. That still didn't answer my question about the discount. The service was quick, efficient, and cost was not a huge issue - but the "billing" and the discount (with coupon) was very uncomfortable and left me with a negative feeling - which is too bad since response and repair were excellent.

Fred arrived on time. Looked at refrigerator and ice maker. Checked water lines and found other problems we did not know we had. He then repaired what was repairable.

Our LG dishwasher was leaking badly from underneath the machine. American West sent a technition to evaluate the problem and determine what needed to be fixed...next day service. American West tries hard not to make you wait too long for an appointment, which we appreciate. The tech took the machine apart and advised that we needed to replace an expensive part, so we ordered the part. It arrived within a week. A different tech arrived to install the new part. He was prompt and polite. Unfortunately, the part we were advised needed to be replaced was not the correct part, and the dishwasher still leaked badly. American West resent the tech who actually replaced the "bad" part. He diagnosed the problem correctly and fixed it. American West did not charge us for the final fix...labor or parts. The receptionist, Helen, is wonderful to work with.

This was the third time this oven had the high temperature limit relay replaced over its life, and our first experience with this vendor. The entire experience was very professional and went well,

American West was great! They responded right away, on a Saturday holiday weekend, no less! Fred arranged to arrive at a convenient time and clearly assessed the problem I was having with my GE washer. His process was open, transparent and professional. He also helped me to fix my dishwasher, showing me the process of how I prevent the problem I was having again. I would most certainly call on them again (and will to fix my washing machine!)

The tech was on time (early, actually) on a Saturday morning and finished the job in under an hour, giving us plenty of time to get ready for a weekend trip. He fixed the problem and the ice maker is working great. He was courteous and professional. I would recommend.

We discovered ice maker was broken in the morning. I called American West that morning...we had a repairman at our front door in 3 hours. He was polite, professional, thorough and experienced. He located problem within minutes - gave me a price to fix- I gave the okay to proceed and he was out the door in less than a hour. I've used this service before and will use them again

They replaced control panel and our dishwasher Kenmore works perfectly since. Everything was excellent.
