The providers were very punctual, polite and did exactly what they said they would do! I am highly pleased with the service and I will definitely use them again.

I had a problem with my Kenmore dryer, and when I called American West, they set up an appointment according to my schedule. The technician showed up on time, diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced gas valve coils within 30 minutes. Work was performed professionally and correctly. He explained to me what he was doing and he was also very fair in his pricing.

I have known American West Appliance Repair for over 5 years, since I moved to Woodland Hills area in 2008. Their level of service is excellent. They are very knowledgeable and have the best repair prices. This time they replaced an ice-maker in my built-in refrigerator. They have experience necessary to effectively repair high end appliances. Gary, the technician, was friendly and professional. He had a brand new ice-maker in his truck and replaced it right away. He completed the job within a reasonable time. I could not be happier with their service.

When the serviceman came to repair my side by side refrigerator/freezer, I was told my controller board was bad and would cost $400 to fix. I paid a $200 deposit and he defrosted my freezer. I was told it was a temporary fix for the week while waiting for the new part to come in. Later that day, a friend told me it was just from my kids leaving the door open too much. So, I called to postpone the control board installation. It has been almost 2 weeks without the repair and the the refrigerator is still working perfect.

I am very pleased with the service from start to finish. The receptionist said the technician will be here in less than 2 hours. One hour later he was here and had my washer working in 45 minutes. He was timely, friendly, efficient and did a great job. I will use this company again and recommend to all my friends and family. Thank you Angie for helping me to find these wonderful people!

The technician was very professional and punctual. He quickly understood the problem and checked to see if he had the replacement part on his truck. Because the refrigerator is ten years old he did not have the correct part and also did not want to install a part that "almost fit" but not quite. Instead, he picked up the correct GE part the next morning and installed it. Refrigerator and freezer are now working fine. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I used this company before. Their staff are the most polite and professional people that we have ever come across in home improvement industry. They are very honest and take pride in their work. This time my Bosch dishwasher was not draining. I thought that drain pump was not functioning and needed replacement. But technician said that the pump was clogged with the pieces of broken glass. The pump itself was fine. He carefully removed debris. He also checked all the connections to make sure that the hoses were not cracked to prevent leaks.

Another great experience using Angie's List! The washing machine repair was prompt, efficient and professional. Igor was a fast worker... no dilly-dallying around. It cost more than I had anticipated, but the quality of the work done made that OK.

I called American West Appliance to fix my LG dryer that had stopped working. I was promptly made an appointment by Helen. The workman Mike showed up on time, however, it was all down hill from there. After assessing the issue with the dryer he told my nanny (I was in my bedroom sleeping after being on call all night) how much it would be. She went to knock on my door but I was sound asleep. She asked him if he could wait just one minute. He yelled at her "If you don't have money to pay, I don't have time to wait". She explained that it wasn't the problem (she had my credit card and a note signed by me with authorization to have the repairs charged to that card), that she just needed to let me know. He again yelled at her and stormed out of the house screaming at her in Russian and slammed the door. The door slamming woke me up. When I came out of my room my nanny was visibly shaken. She explained what happened. Being a woman at home and having a male repairman is often a little anxiety producing (you never know what is walking through the door), having one that is rude, angry , and explosive is downright scary. My nanny has worked for us for over 5 years and is the kindest, most soft spoken sweet woman and has never said a bad word about the dozens of repair men we have had in the home over the years. When I called to tell Helen what happened she laughed at me and said that customers ask for Mike by name and that he has worked there over 10 years. Apparently she didn't want to hear customer feedback. That is unfortunately for her and her boss. As I business owner I realize that customer feedback is a compass I use to help make sure my business and customer service are on track with what my mission and vision is. I asked for the address to send the $ 35.00 assessment check and left it at that. I called Lerman appliance repair and they came out the next day and were on time as well, pleasant and knowledgeable. STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN WEST APPLIANCE REPAIR if mental health is important to you in the workman you invite into your home.

I called at 10 am and received service at 3pm. The technician was on time. He examined the dishwasher and then ran it through several segments of the wash cycle. Then he showed me accumulated suds in the bottom of the machine. He explained that because of the hard water, mineral deposits were clogging the holes of the sprinkler arms and building up a residue. He gave me the names of some cleansing agents that would clean out the machine; otherwise the machine was in good working condition. The charge was $45 for the visit. The technician was very polite and helpful.

All representatives I dealt with were professional and prompt, but their prices are high. I was charged $170 for 10 minutes of labor (the service call fee of $45 was waived because services were performed). According to the technician, the discount of 30% off labor was included in that price. I would hate to see how much they would charge for a full hour of labor. Although they were great to work with, I don't think I'll be using them again because of their prices.

I called their Woodland Hills number on a Saturday and a repair man, Igor, was @ our home in less than 3 hours from when I placed the call. Their service was courteous and prompt. Igor quickly diagnosed the issues with both appliances and had each unit fixed in less than an hour and a half. I would highly recommend them & I will use them for any future large applicance repairs in my home.

When I called them they answered in two rings and were delightful on the phone. They arrive ontime and explained everything and left the house as clean as it was when they arrived. I'm one happy camper :-)

Very personable & knowledgable service man. Quickly figured out the problem and had a replacement in his truck. Oven has been working perfectly since then. The only question was how the Angie's List offered 30% off labor coupon was applied. 30% was written on the ticket but there was no beginning labor cost written down to see what I might have received in savings.

The job was fast and efficient. The technition was very good. I used my Angie's list coupon. The cost was $120.00.

My refrigerator was making a loud noise. I called American West Appliance and they were here right on time. I was prepared to buy a new refrigerator, however after diagnosing the problem, the repairman simply cleaned the motor, brushed condenser coils, and refrigerator works perfectly. He easily could have added a motor to my bill. He did not and I would use these honest people again in the future and recommend to all my friends and family.

My oven was not heating up. I called American West Appliance and technician arrived the same day. He quickly diagnosed igniter problem and fixed my oven within 30 minutes, explaining that this was a common problem. Courteous and knowledgeable, the technician was a pleasure to deal with. Parts and labor came to $186. If you want personable service that leaves you feeling satisfied, American West is who to call. They will answer all your questions, provide you with the best time to fit your schedule and send you a true professional who will quickly fix the problem and save your day.

I normally only write good reviews, i tend to just leave the bad ones alone and I hate to burn a bridge. However this guy was terrible beyond belief. The good news was he showed up on time and removed an ice maker (which i had already disconnected.) The main reason we called them, the guy they sent was named Faed according to the invoice, was that our freezer was fine, but the refridgerator was not working. Faed looked it over for about 1 second and pronounced the dumper unit dead. He said he would need 2-3 days to get the part which would cost over $200. I asked how he knew since he hadn't actually looked at anything? He was mean and argumentative. I asked how he didn't know the little flapper wasn't just frozen shut and he said I was wrong and should remove all my food until he fixed it. After 10 minutes of intense arguing he finally removed the plastic cowling to find the part was indeed simply frozen. He thawed it out and now the flapper works perfectly. He was incredibly rude and made some really inappropriate personal comments, not to mention he wanted to us to lose all our food instead of doing what took him 10 minutes! I decided once he left to get a new part anyway in case this one did indeed fail, it cost me $64.04 and that included rush shipping so i got it the next day. Do NOT use these people.

I called American West Appliance Repair to see about having a repairman come to my house and fix my GE dishwasher. I was offered same day appointment. The technician was on time, replaced a drain pump, charged $185 and left my kitchen spotless. Our dishwasher works fine now. I have used this company in the past. I have never encountered such dedicated and polite service anywhere else. Their technicians are punctual, always have parts in stock and very pleasant to deal with. They are very diligent in doing their job. Not to say the least their rates are very reasonable.

The repairman was wonderful. When he figured out which part he thought was causing the trouble, he called immediately and got a price. Since it had to come from Wolf directly, it was expensive and couldn't be returned if it didn't work. He had the brilliant idea of taking the same part out of the working oven and putting it in the broken one to make sure that it was the problem. It was and he was back with the part in two days. Can't say enough nice things about the experience. I was having 12 people come stay at my house for the next ten days and he pulled every string he could to get the oven fixed before they arrived, which was the day after the repair. I have used this company before to fix my dishwasher and was happy with that repair also.

Poorly. I followed the advice of the technician and paid $120.00 for the service. Less than 3 weeks later, the door lock locked that he disabled locked again. When I called back, based upon the 30 day warranty for the service, my call was returned The following day. However, I wasn't able to return their message until the next day. At that time, the OWNER of the company told me that I had wasted my money on the service the technician had provided because they were going to charge me at least $120 again, that I needed to have the very repair that her technician had advised against performed and that the service he previously provided was not covered by their warranty. In addition, she told me she wouldn't even call me back to discuss it until Tuesday -even though I was calling on Friday!! When I tried to explain what the technician had told me, she said she knew that, but that I had made a bad decision and was taking advantage of him! I have no idea how that could be when I followed his advice, paid in full for his service and requested that they comply with their warranty when their service failed. I asked her to either warranty their work or refund what I had paid - her choice. She continued to refuse until I told her I would have the work done. And proceed against the in small claims court for the additional cost. After she told me to "Go ahead, no one ever wins" against her (inferring she's been sued before), I told her I'd been an attorney for 22 years, I had a written warranty and, as such, I would win. At that point, she called me "ungrateful" and said she would refund my $120, less her $35 diagnostic fee. I told her that I wanted the entire amount, as I had paid the entire amount of their bill and their repair didn't last and they refused to honor the warranty - meaning that the diagnosis was clearly faulty. Because I didn't back down when the owner rudely insulted me and refused to honor her own technician's work, she finally said she would mail a refund check. We'll see if she stands by her word on that. Do not use this company!.

My dryer had been taking progressively longer to dry my clothes. I have never been the owner of a dryer before (first house as an adult!), and did not know the first thing about dryer maintenance or repair. I called American West Appliance Repair and they were able to come within an hour of my call, which was completely unexpected. The serviceman Fred called ~20 minutes before he arrived and listened to the problem. He took one look at the exhaust vent and knew that it was clogged. After he cleaned the vent, he took the time to explain what the problem was, what I had to do to avoid this in the future, and what the signs of bigger problems would be if I encountered them. The charge was $65.00, which seems fair for a service call. After I told him that I was a first time home owner, he asked me if I had any questions about any of my other appliances and that he would be happy to answer them (this was AFTER I wrote the check). I will be using American West in the future!

Fred was his name. He was nice, friendly, efficient and even helped us cleaning the floor behind and under the refrigerator. I'm calling him again to repair a washing machine.

He wasn't even here for 10 or 15 minutes and he charged $300. He was supposed to give me a 40% discount from Angie's List. He redid the bill again and still ended up charging me $200-$250 each time for labor plus the parts. I called the lady and asked if they were charging me for travel time. She said no and that he is an LG repair person and there are not very many that work on LGs. I would not call them back again. He was knowledgeable and pinpointed the problem right away. He wasn't here for an hour for both repairs. It was ridiculous. They were pretty responsive and came when he said. He was in and out quickly.

Repairman arrived, figure out problem, and left to get a part. He returned in the early evening with my permission to fix the problem that day.
