We stopped in to the Thousand Oaks store since that is where we purchased our last carpet and there was no experienced salesperson to help us. The employee who was there seemed to be a clerk or something and let us look on our own through the carpet samples but explained that the salesperson was the one that could answer our questions. She said we could pick out samples and she would order them in. We randomly selected a few possible choices with little information on what type of carpet we were choosing or what the pros and cons of the carpet were. When the carpet samples came in, we stopped by to pick them up and the sales person was there. They were having their lunch at the table in the middle of the store and they stopped to get us the samples but I didn't feel comfortable bombarding them with questions at that time since they were eating. I felt like I was intruding. We took the samples home and lived with the carpet squares for a couple of months. I was surprised that there was no followup call from the salesperson asking if we needed help with our selection or at the very least requesting their samples back, but that never happened. Eventually, we stopped by the store again to return the carpet squares and inform them of our preference from the samples. Once again, the salesperson was just leaving the store and did not have time to talk. I wanted to know if they had something similar in color in a thicker texture. I quickly asked my question of the salesperson as she was packing up and she said she was on her way out but would check into it and call us with what she found on Monday. By Wednesday, we gave up on Alpine One and went to a competitor where we spoke to a salesperson and ordered the carpet that same day and had it installed about a week and a half later. Proof that life shouldn't be that complicated. I found that Alpine One in Thousand Oaks was not responsive to our needs and each of the three times we were in the store was quite an awkward experience. Not sure of how it would have gone if we had made it past the selection phase and into the purchase and installation phase. (Might have dodged a bullet there.)

I've hired them twice. The first time was perfect. The second time, they were really busy moving show rooms and weren't as responsive as I needed them to be. Also, there was an unwillingness on their part to communicate/coordinate with my other contractors who were working on other parts of my home at the same time. I was worried that the project would not be done to my satisfaction. In the end, it was fine, but I didn't like having to push them so much to communicate with my other contractors. It created stress for me.
Description of Work: Sold me carpeting. Installation was done by one of their contractors, who I paid directly.
Store manager made good suggestions which we ultimately adopted, but we went forward with other vendors/suppliers. Primary reasons at the time of the transaction: 1. An F rating from the better business bureau 2. state contractor licensing board reported that installation license was expired 3. lukewarm reports from references we checked 4. prices somewhat higher than other local credible providers. 5. challenges communicating by phone or email

I was completely satisfied with my experience with this company. Lisa and Eric, the salespeople, were friendly, professional, patient and responsive. The installation team was top-notch and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. The installation supervisor was a perfectionist. My new hardwood floor looks great and there were no post-installation problems. I am at a loss to explain the negative reviews, but suspect that the problem might have been with the buyer, not the company.
Description of Work: Replaced carpeting with hardwood floor.

Their service was good. I liked the sales person, and I liked the quality of their products. I thought the pricing was competitive. They delivered, and installed quickly. The quality was tops for what we purchased. I'm not sure if I would use them again. It would depend on what I was looking for. At the time, the pricing wasn't as important as finding what I was looking for.
Description of Work: We used Alpine Carpet One about 10 years ago.

We are extremely unhappy with the work that was performed. We can see seams throughout the house and the number of seams is unacceptable. We contacted the company numerous times and we were repeatedly told to wait another few weeks or wait at least 6 months. After at least five calls and about 8 months they finally sent someone out to fix it. The person that they sent out did not have the correct tools to fix it so we had to schedule another appointment. Even with the second appointment, the seams are still visible and we are not satisfied. There has been no follow-up by the company. I regret using this company daily.

Inspecting some of the boxes on arrival, we were disappointed to find many of the flooring boards were rough and splintery, nothing like the smooth sample we had carried with us for two weeks. Our contractor and his flooring crew arrived for the install and said they would not install this poor quality flooring. Lisa was not available that day and we needed flooring quickly to keep on schedule, so we found another brand and style at a nearby company. The following day we contacted Lisa and though disappointed at losing the sale, she arranged for all the boxes to be picked up by her staff and returned to the warehouse. She was shocked that the product delivered by the supplier was inferior to the sample she showed us, but she said she would see that it was returned and our money refunded. A check for the full purchase price of the inferior product was received three weeks later. Considering that Lisa went out of her way to facilitate the return and our reimbursement, even though she lost the sale, we wholeheartedly recommend Alpine Carpet One and Lisa Dodge to anyone needing one-on-one flooring advice and assistance. It was not her fault that the supplier delivered an unsatisfactory product and she doubtless incurred some expenses in having all 45 boxes picked up from our house and returned to the warehouse. Having experienced outstanding service from her, we will go to her again should we have additional flooring needs.
Description of Work: We are completing a full kitchen/family room remodel and replacing all carpet and tile on the first floor of our house with engineered hardwood. We visited Alpine Carpet One in Thousand Oaks and were greeted by Lisa Dodge. We explained what we were looking for and showed her a sample door of the cabinets we had on order. She picked out several flooring possibilities, explaining the quality considerations of each, and we settled on a maple hardwood that had a slightly rustic look and came in various lengths of 3", 4" and 5" widths so the floor would look completely random. She loaned us a large sample of it so we could match other elements and we ordered 1,550 sq. ft. of this flooring from Lisa.

THE SELECTION OF MATERIAL AND THE PRICES OFFERED WAS OUTSTANDING. THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION WENT VERY SMOOTHLY AND QUICKLY. THE MATERIAL HAS GIVEN EXCELLENT RESULTS. THE POST-INSTALLATION AND CLEANUP WAS A BIT WEAK.
Description of Work: ALPINE CARPET ONE OFFERED A WIDE SELECTION OF FLOORING MATERIAL. THEY CAME TO OUR HOME AND MEASURED THE AREA OF WORK TO BE DONE. THEN WE SELECTED CARPETING AND TILE. THEY THEN INSTALLED THE MATERIAL QUICKLY.
