HOLLAND AWNING & SHADE CO

Some while ago we replaced our upstairs windows with energy efficient windows. The new windows, when cranked open, did not have enough clearance when fully opened and tore the awning. Darryl Howard has worked with us before and we all seemed to get along. This is a nice thing when folks understand each other. Darryl had to remove the framework and build a new frame that would accommodate the open windows and also clear the roof line. When we decided on a new fabric (as the old fabric pattern was no longer available) we also decided to recover a smaller adjacent window with the same new fabric so it wouldn't have an out of place look. Unforeseen personal events delayed the work but all was finally resolved to our satisfaction.

I'm using them and I've used them before. They are wonderful. I used them about twenty years ago and I got aluminum awnings. I got a quote for the aluminum and then I decided to go with canvas so I got two quotes. I'm very particular and Darrell Howard who owns the company makes the awnings. I can't get better than Darrell Howard, he's the best. He's wonderful. He spent a lot of time here in doing proper measurements, seeing how we can get more slope on one of the awnings because I wanted to go canvas. He said he was afraid and that I would have to go aluminum on that big one there because I wasn’t getting enough slope but then he came back and said that if I really wanted canvas he said we could take down the gutters. He just spent a lot of time. He’s excellent. He gave me the quote right away. He was Johnny on the spot to do the measurements and he gave me the quote within three days.

His quote came in SO reasonable to the other awning companies I was looking it. He is a great one-man show and uses the best materials. He seems to know his trade very well. He spent considerable time taking measurements and giving me advice about what types of awnings we should get on the two sides of my home. He talked in detail with me about seasonal lighting and heating. He mentioned windows that would be affected by the awnings. He was very knowledgeable in what awnings were right for my home. I received a quote back with samples for the awning materials I selected within three days. If anyone should be nominated for the Page of Happiness, this man should!!

It went smoothly, as expected.

We will most definitely hire Holland Awnings in the future. Darrell was very understanding and professional, a pleasure to work with.

Mr Howard was very polite and very helpful. He explained the different awnings and I was able to pick what I thought would look best and do the most good. Compared to buying the awnings and doing the work your self, I thought his price was very reasonable. It did take a little bit of time because the awnings had to be made to fit but when they were ready, he called and came exactly when he said he would. I was very pleased. The awnings look nice and finally my house is shady. I would recommend Holland Awning & Shade Co. to any one.

MR. HOWARD WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, AND HIS PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. HE WAS A LITTLE LATE THE DAY OF INSTALLATION, BUT IT WAS DUE TO A MISUNDERSTANDING. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. HE DID A GREAT JOB IN INSTALLING THE AWNINGS.
