I am thrilled with the floor and the work from the Solid Foundation team! Most importantly, they did a fabulous job, the floor is stunning: the lines are straight, they run even to the walls, even though the walls are not perfectly perpendicular, it doesn't show in the tiles. The floor is level, with no tiles popping up. They do a good job with prep work. First they sand the floor, so the materials will stick well. They lay down a coat of rubber so that the tile will slide and not crack if the concrete slab shifts and expands, protecting the tile. Then, they lay down the thinset and tile, grout, and sealer, with a final visit for cleanup and inspection. Everyone I worked with from the company was fun, pleasant, professional, and most importantly, good at what they do. Kudos to Brooke, who owns the company for being easy going yet dedicated to quality. Brooke is great to work with, he's professional, patient, he follows through, he answers all questions, he'd dedicated to a quality job. Many thanks to Jason, Juan, and Hector for the fabulous work, it was a pleasure to work with all of you! The price for their work is very high, it was the highest of the bids we received. In this case, we got what we paid for, they are worth every penny.
Description of Work: Solid Foundations installed porcelain tile throughout my entire first floor. The tile was a bit tricky, it had three different lengths, and 3 different widths laid out in straight lines, including a hallway that runs the full length of the house. The tile also had rectified edges, which are very unforgiving if the tile isn't laid out smooth and level. I was looking for an experienced contractor that I knew would do a good job, because it would be very expensive to fix if it was done badly (crooked lines, tiles not level). I was willing to pay a higher price for a job done well. The beautiful work they show on their website gave me the confidence that they could do fine work. It also helped that the contractor had installed my tile in his home, so I knew that he knew how to work with rectified tile.
