Third time we used Keith for work in our home. We are having cabinetry installed in a spare bedroom to make it an office. Keith relocated the outlets so that we have a power source on the wall for our computer equipment and. On one of the outlets he installed a USB plug in so that we can plug in our phones and other devices for charging without using our computers.
Description of Work: Adjusted height of outlets.

I called KBP electric to fix a tripping GFI and was able to set an appointment in a reasonable timeframe. Keith was punctual and pleasant. Within 10 minutes, he was able to diagnose the problem and identify the solution. The lows voltage wiring was getting wet. He showed me how to do fix it and gave me the option to do it myself or have him do it. I decided to do it myself, and he did not accept any payment for his trip or expertise. I was impressed with his professionalism and honesty. I will definitely call him for any future electrical needs.

They showed up right on time. Checked everything I had mentioned over the phone. Very understanding with my crazy dog and toddler following them around the house. Started working right away and even when I had to leave fir my daughter's gym class they came back right on time after her class with everything they needed for the job. Done very fast before my first showing for my house to be on the market.

I have used KBP Electric before and again I was extremely well-satisfied with their professionalism, work equality, and product outcome. Upon receiving my initial request Keith came to our home and provided a free analysis and written estimate of the cost of the detailed work that was need. He included an estimation of the expected it would take to complete the project. We scheduled the date and time for the work to be done. Keith and his team of two additional craftsmen arrived on time, went to work, finished the project within the specified time. The cost was exactly as estimated. The work took approximately 2-3 hours, a shorter amount of time that I anticipated. The price was reasonable given that there were three workman involved over a period of up to 3 hours. I have spend considerable more for work that did not require the same amount of training and expertise. Importantly, they kept the work area tidy and cleaned up as they worked. They put a tarp on the carpet outside of the bathroom to avoid tracking dirt. Keith is prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.
Description of Work: Keith and his team reconfigured the outdated and dysfunctional lightening in the upstairs bathroom. This required removing a portion of the bathroom room that is close to the ceiling and install electric wiring in a relatively close space that also held bathroom pipes and a gas line. The team removed the necessary portion of the plastered wall, removed the outdated electrical pieces and replaced them with double circuits that permitted the installation of two lights instead of the original one. They texturized the new surface to perfectly match the existing wall. They mounted the two lights and even put the masking tape around the edges so that all we have to do is a brief paint touch up.

The owner and his son came to bid on installing up to date electrical switches and outlets. We had just had new flooring put through the entire house and my husband requested that they remove their shoes, which they somewhat begrudging did so. They did not count the electrical outlets. They very quickly just glanced at each room and came up with a rather arbitrary cost for the job at $950. We were turned off by their rather nonchalant inspection of the house. We ended up hiring Dwelling Electric, which were not only thoroughly professional, their bid was $200 cheaper. And they did a fantastic job. It took a few days for me to notice it, but even the screws in the outlet covers are perfectly vertical! Extremely attentive to details.

Response from KBP Electric
I recall these events going rather differently. My partner and I went to this residence to give an estimate on work to be completed. [member name removed] seemed rather flustered and explained to us that she had already had multiple contractors in and about the home that day for estimates, and that she had a few more coming after we left. She wanted to get the best price for the work. We encourage our customers to shop around, so we were fine with that. We at KBP Electric pride ourselves in our quality of work, and although we may not be the cheapest, believe that our knowledge, experience, and workmanship set us apart from other companies. We don't cut corners in any way, and take great pride in our work. Upon arrival my partner and I were asked to take off our shoes, which we did so with no problem. I believe that [member name removed] may have us mixed up with one of the other companies that came through her house that day, I don't even have a son. My business partner and I are the same age. After walking through this entire residence in our socks, we added up costs and gave the customer an estimate, that we thought was very competitively priced, considering the work she had requested. We wrote out an invoice and told the customer to give us a call in a few days after she had finished receiving estimates from the rest of the contractors. Later that week we still had not received a phone call from her, but saw that she had posted a review, here on Angie's List, claiming all of these fallacies and more. We wrote a review very kindly explaining that we believed she had made a mistake, to which, [member name removed] deleted her comments and our response, only to repost it days later, without our response, projecting a bad image on my company, when she is clearly mistaken on who she is talking about. [member name removed], My company would really appreciate it if you would stop deleting and reposting this. It is beginning to get a bit redundant that I have to take time out of my busy day to write responses to events that are not true.

Keith did a great job with our project. He was the only company that offered to come out and take a look before quoting the job. To me that went a long way and showed that he cared about doing the job right. Keith gave us a quote and we setup an installation date. He showed up on time, did a quality job and cleaned up before he left. We will call him again if we need more work done.

Keith is very good. He is very punctual. He is actually coming out here in the future to do a big job for us. It is just $90 for the service call. It’s a small locally owned business. They are very conscientious about explaining the whole process and what’s going on with the service call. They are very quick. They are very affordable.

We are selling the house and the inspector identified a problem with the breaker panel and a loose wire in the garage. Keith and his wife showed up on time and addressed the problem quickly. It went very well. Keith came over one morning and provided a free estimate and scheduled a date to do the work. He and another electrician arrived on time and proceeded to efficiently move through the property installing each of the three sensors. They worked efficiently, were friendl, courteous, and professional. We felt that the price was reasonable because it included the sensors and lights to be installed and two electricians were involved. The sensors and lights are working well. We will call KBP Electric for future electrical needs.
Description of Work: Two electricians installed a total of three motion sensors and lights in our back yard. This involved running wires from the upstairs bedroom and downstairs living room to the outside areas where the sensor and lights would be installed.

We were very pleased with the work and the fact that Keith was so pleasant to work with. We are planning on having him come back to install one additional fan.
Description of Work: Wired and installed 7 ceiling fans, some with lights and also installed 1 GFI outlet and 1 regular outlet. Keith came to our house and gave us an estimate that was very competitive with other estimates we received. He told us that he had considerable experience doing the type of work that we needed, and also told us that the job would be completed in one day. Keith and his assistant showed up promptly at 8:30 a.m. and started work immediately. While they were there, we requested that an additional outlet be added to the scope of the work and Keith was very accomodating about adding the extra work at a very reasonable cost. The enitre job was done in a very professional and efficient manner and was completed in one day.

The overall experience was excellent. Keith and his wife had to reschedule with us due to rain. They both showed up early, on the day we agreed upon, corrected all of the issues and completed the work in a timely, professional manner. In addition it was nice that they cleaned up during completion of each task and removed all of the trash. Before leaving we reviewed the completed tasks, Keith answered any additional questions we had. My wife and I will definitely us KBP again as money allows to install a couple of ceiling fans and candeliers.
Description of Work: On December 25th I contacted Keith about several issues that arised from an inspection we had on our home prior to moving in during the month of October. As a result we needed a couple of a handful of light switches reworked or replaced, a box needed to be replaced in the attic, both outdoor lights needed replacing and a motion removed. Also we needed a new breaker installed for the air conditioner, the 220 volt needed to be hooked up, smoke and fire detectors installed and finally an electrical box in the back yard need to be replaced.

Overall, it went great. This company is husband/wife team that came out the day before and arrived at my house at 7 am. They were gone by 7:30 am. They are friendly, fast, professional and seem very family oriented. I don't have a lot of positive interactions with contractors in general so this is unusual for me to write a great review.

I basically walked through my whole house with my "laundry list" and "wish list" and asked Keith to quote everything separately. He told me where all my electrical weaknesses were, how much each thing would cost and was extremely thourough. I felt his prices were reasonable and will definitely have him come out to do several of the jobs in the next few weeks. He was on time, which is very important to me as I am extremely busy, and very honest about what was required for each project.
Description of Work: I actually thought this was just going to be an estimate session but when Keith found a problem in my bathroom that he felt needed to be fixed he did it on the spot and didn't charge me any more than the estimating fee I was expecting. He did give me a military discount though so it was extremely reasonable.

The work was not completed, and in this case I am perfectly satisfied with that
Description of Work: Keith and his wife came out early on a Sunday and arrived promptly as scheduled. Once he saw my electrical dilemma he very professionally laughed at me and thoroughly explained that my situation was completely illegal and not up to code. He explained that while other less caring electricians might jump at the work involved, he would have to pass as he wasn't willing to accept the legal liability for installing something illegally and potentially dangerous. I appreciate his candor and professionalism.

Update: Keith offered to fix the height and came back today with a great attitude and no additional charge. I'll be hiring him again for my other light fixtures and would highly recommend his services! Keith came on time, I was at work and my partner was there to oversee the work I had requested. He completed the work in a timely manner and allowed time for pictures to be sent to me from my partner via phone in order to get feedback from me. When I saw the work done, I was satisfied although I instructed that the fixture should hang halfway above and below the height of the top of the door frame. It is slightly higher than I expected. I'm sure if I had been there, he would have received all A's.

Everything went extremely smoothly from start to finish. We could not be happier with the quality, the price, and the attention to detail. Keith showed up on-time and, when we met, it was obvious that he was highly experienced and knew his trade very well. Unlike other electrical contractors with whom we had dealt, Keith was able to accurately estimate the job's price on-the-spot. (On that note, a different electrical contracting company in the Murrieta area, which we had used in the past and which is also on Angie's List with a surprising number of good reviews, which we won't name here and which may or may not get a review from us, had estimated one price in-person and then doubled it in writing! Then, when we tried to eliminate some items to fit with our budget, he said that this was bulk pricing and eliminating some items would not reduce the price, even though each service was individually priced! So it was pretty much a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. We don't deal with arrogant contractors who see a person's home and make assumptions about budget.) Needless to say, Keith was a wonderful breath of fresh air. But back to this review...Despite Keith having the best price, the quality did not suffer in any way, shape or form. We couldn't be more pleased with the quality workmanship and aesthetics of his portion of the project. Keith also asked several questions throughout his three days here--how high did we want the outdoor switch on the post, how far from the wall did we want the light fixture outlets, etc. He didn't just make assumptions, and he listened and followed through with what we told him. And when we were into the project, again unlike some other contractors with whom we've dealt, the price didn't change. Keith encountered some unforeseen difficulties due to another trade's mistake, and yet he rolled with it and didn't charge us extra because it took him an additional three hours. He also went above and beyond and painted our outlet covers for us without us even having to ask. Keith provides a very high level of service, he is extremely competent, has a high care level, and a great attitude. All this for a fantastic price! We will definitely be using Keith and his company again, and can wholeheartedly recommend him. You will not be disappointed!

Replace light fixtures and ceiling fans, install motion sensor light We had six units to be replaced which included two chandeliers, two ceiling fans, an outdoor motion light and a ceiling light. We also had another exterior motion light that was installed in a new location. Kevin showed up at my house to do an estimate. He looked at the situation and made some recommendations that were helpful. He left me a written estimate. When I accepted the estimate we agreed to when the work was done. He and his wife showed up to do the work. They were prompt, friendly, professional and cleaned up before they left. All the work was performed in about 4.5 hours. Everything works well and we are satisfied with the work. I would recommend KBP Electric.

We bought an unfinished home and had a contractor troubleshoot and install all the electrical work. Unfortunately this person proved himself to be incompetent, so we hired Keith to fix the errors. We needed a 40amp 220v outlet for our dual fuel oven, and wanted to know why the exterior motion detectors lights weren't working. He quoted a reasonable price, and working with his assistant, they were professional, thorough, pleasant, and successfully corrected what we needed. Our oven wasn't being delivered for a couple of months, so Keith said he would come back and install the outlet at no charge, which required a particular configuration. Sure enough, when we were ready, Keith and his assistant came back and hooked up the oven. We are very happy with kbp Electric and will be using them for future work.

Wonderful. This man is a true professional. He came in advance and reviewed the work and gave us a bid. He gave me a reasonable bid and we scheduled the time. He required 2 days, but said that he would try to complete the work as soon as possible. He completed all the work in one day and all of the rooms he worked on were left in good shape. The drywalling was excellent- The lights look like they were built with the house. The original plan had the light placement in one room in an awkward spot. He came to me immediately and suggested a better re-positioning. Keith knows his lights. I recommend him and his crew highly.
