Our pool is gorgeous and all of our experiences with California Custom Pools was exceptional. We highly recommend them if you're looking for quality work at a competitive price. Danny is really a great designer and salesman. Communication is top notch. I've peppered him with questions, asked for changes on his design, and he has done everything I've asked, and more. Our pool is DONE! It's beautiful. Everyone who sees it, the first word is "WOW"! From the beginning of this process, Danny and George respected our vision and made it come to life. Their suggestions were exactly what we needed. They were amazing working with us on our budget. The value gained for our home vs the money spent on this project was well worth it. The workmanship was very good, the different crews were very efficient, and work was performed per schedule. There was some after cleanup I needed to do after the tile cutting dust was left on the rocks in the backyard, which don’t clean up easyly. The demo crew was very particular in getting all the areas covered and after cleanup was really good as was the team laying the plaster and mini pebbles. The only downside was the coordination among the teams, and mini pebble availability. For this inconvenience the company provided glass and shells upgrade. There were no cost overruns, and the work was completed on time. However other customers jobs were rescheduled to meet our schedule due to material delays. The pool startup didn’t work well. I had to add 10 lbs of stabilizer (CYA) to balance the pool, and added the DE. Over all the pool looks fantastic, and the we have been using it a lot.

If I could give Danny at California Custom Pools more than five stars, I absolutely would. Him and his staff were completely on point, professional and took our best interest at hand regarding our remodel of our pool and then added their wealth of knowledge in order to make the experience and outcome of our pool remodel, the best that it could be. From the beginning of this experience to the end, it was amazing! Danny and his crew worked 6 to 7 days a week helping answer every question that both my wife and I had during this renovation, performing all the work in an extremely timely manner. All of his recommendations that we utilized helped make this process much easier than we expected. We wouldn’t have received the outcome we did if Danny and his crew were not on point and great at what they do. From the pool remodel to the landscaping, and finally the dog run, Danny, thank you very much sir for a job well done. My wife Adriana, and I appreciate everything you did for our family. From the very beginning the customer service was excellent. Calls, text and renderings of our project were sent over to us ASAP. We were so impressed with the customer service we started on our project 1 month early. We did a complete pool remodel with concrete pool deck and landscaping. Customer service and craftsmanship were excellent. Would highly recommend!

Our decision to go with California Custom Pools has been the best decision we ever made. As a retired veteran family we had very high expectations and worked for months at gathering quotes and meeting with various vendors but non ever came close to the professionalism and follow through in ensuring our project was exactly as we envisioned and beyond. Danny and his team are dream makers as from day one they captured exactly what we wanted in our project and went above and beyond to ensure that they gave us everything we asked for and more. It has now been about a month since the project has been completed and we are just thrilled at how our backyard has transformed and become the oasis we always envisioned with personal touches that included our own pool design and grandchildren handmade heart keepsake. California Custom Pools was definitely the best decision when looking for the right pool company and within the budget I was looking for. I was expecting a long process and wait time to have my pool complete, but everything went quick, and the pool was complete in record time. With that said, that wouldn’t be possible without George and Danny pushing to make things happen. Definitely well-organized with planning and ensuring I was kept in the loop. That’s one of the key things for me is always knowing what’s going on and what’s next, they ensured I was well informed. With any project there are going to be challenges and changes that may happen once things get rolling, fortunately having George and Danny backing me with the major changes in design due to what I thought was a slight incline in the back yard ended up building a more up to date and better design that worked well with our property. I don’t really put out recommendations, but in this case if you’re looking for someone you can trust and ensure you’re getting the quality you paid for, California Custom Pools would definitely be the right decision to go with on a major purchase like this. Family loves it and most importantly they followed my most important thing when building my pool design, ensure there is plenty of room for some cornhole.

For anyone who is looking for a pool or spa contractor in San Diego, I can't recommend Danny Smith at California Custom Pools highly enough. In the winter of 2023, I hired Danny to remodel the exterior of my pre-existing spa, which was custom-built by another company. It is nearly impossible to find a competent contractor to fix or complete another contractor's job that was done incorrectly or resulted in significant problems, so when Danny and his crew took on the difficult job of remodeling my spa, I knew I was fortunate. My existing spa was surrounded by a wooden deck that was warped and disintegrating, and I had searched for more than a year to find someone to help me with this project. Because I didn't know what the was underneath the deck, it was a challenge for any contractor to bid on this job. Prior to finding Danny, multiple contractors and carpenters quoted me prices between 15-30K given that the possible solutions were contingent upon may unknown factors. However, Danny was able to thoroughly assess the possibilities on location by looking closely at the existing deck and consulting with his crew. He then provided me with several viable options that were within my budget and in less than a month, we agreed on a plan and schedule the demo. In 5 days (including the weekend in-between) the wooden deck was gone and replaced with scored, colored concrete. I was blown away! No delays, no unreturned phone calls, no excuses. Just complete follow-through. And after the job was completed, the crew came back to clean up the rocks and dust from the concrete truck, which I really appreciated. I was finally able to enjoy my spa, which continues to look beautiful, blends with my entire backyard, and is easy to maintain. Overall, I highly recommend Danny Smith with California Custom Pools. who is professional, great to work with, honest, and dependable. His tile/cement crew are skilled in their craft, always arrived on time, and consistently walked me through the process while answering my questions.
