They were knowledgeable, prompt, professional and courteous.

What a wonderful company. Their bid came in as lowest. A couple days after submitting their bid, Shawn called to say that, in his usual negotiations with the lumber company, they lowered the price of the materials and, therefore, Shawn was lowering his bid by the same amount. Wonderful, since any other company would have simply assumed that they would make a greater profit. The work was absolutely first quality. It turned out that my floor had some construction issues, creating squeeks and a bit of flexing in the floor. Rather than ignore it or walk away from the job (as would many other flooring companies), Shawn took it upon himself to go to Home Depot to rectify the problem?adding 2-3 additional days onto the project. Clearly, they take immense and rightful pride in their beautiful work. I couldn?t be happier. (Company?s address on AngiesList is Tarzana; however, they operate locally out of Mountain View.)

When I called Royal Oak I was given the price over the phone. No one came to the house to see the area and give an estimate. That surprised me as I live fairly close by. I was satisfied with the work .

Overall the work went well and I would use Royal Oak again. Mr. Pilar is a great salesman. He encouraged us to use a superior product. He was attentive; however, we had a few communication problems. We contracted to have Royal Oak remove and reinstall oak base boards. Mr. Pilar offered to move our furniture to our patio and cover it with his tarps. His son Sean and two workers did the demolition a couple of weeks later. The were terrific. Sean did not know about the base boards and did not feel he could remove them without damage. After several phone calls with his father we agreed on a credit for having the removal and replacement of base boards by another company. Sean did not bring tarps to cover our furniture. We had to go to home depot and get our own tarps. The work went quickly. There was attention to detail. The finish man asked and paid attention to our preferences. We found a few flaws after the job was done. Royal Oak corrected them the next day. The work area had been freshly painted. The walls were scuffed from the subfloor instillation. Royal Oak paid for the touch up. Despite these glitches, we were pleased. Royal Oak Flooring works to satisfy the customer.

Great! We will use them, again and again.

The team arrived on time. They moved my furniture out and got to work. They were exceptionally clean for a job that can be pretty dusty. The added the new flooring and refinished the entire surface. They also installed the new floor molding I chose. They also did a great job on the detail portion of the job which includes door jams, heater vents and closets. The floors look great and really brighten the room.

The Owner of Royal Oak, has been exceedingly pleasant and on top of all aspects of the job. The Demo turned out to be much more difficult that Beau had anticipated, but they carried on and got it done. With the installation, the crew have taken their time and done it right. They do their work when scheduled and then stick to it. So far, I am exceedingly pleased and I would highly recommend Royal Oak Floors for their level of professionalism and quality.

Let me tell you a story about Beau. First of all, I had Beau come over and give us a quote on the job. He was on time and super nice. Unlike some of the other quotes that we got, Beau didn't give us any high pressure sales push. I liked that he was able to quickly and efficiently give us a bid in the project in less than 30 min. The job itself went off without a hitch. It took his team of 1-2 crews about 5 days to complete the job and the floors looked absolutely fantastic. We settled in with our new floors and brought in the painters to finish the baseboards and paint walls, etc. That's where the problems started. Apprently, I didn't know that newly finished hardwood floors couldn't handle tape (not even painters tape for delicate surfaces!) and the tape completely ruined our brand new floors. It was absolutely horrible, there was about a hundred spots where the varnish had been peeled off. And this was where Royal Oak differentiated themselves. When I called Beau he calmly explained that you can't use painters tape on newly finished hardwood floors. He then proceeded to reassure me that he would take care of me. A couple weeks later, he sent a 3 man crew for 3 additional days to completely fix my floors. They even applied a couple additional coats of polyurethane in areas that were unaffected! If there is one thing I can convey about Beau is that he is a fair and honest businessperson. He went above and beyond his call of duty to make sure I was completely happy. I truly wish that I could do business only with people like Beau. Life is too short to deal with any other type of people. I'm sure you can always find a cheaper, rock bottom, price if you bid out a job enough. But often you will find that those rock bottom prices are revised higher (the old bait and switch approach) or that corners are cut resulting in shoddy results. Please do yourself a huge favor and go with Royal Oak.
