It pains me to leave a review like this for any company but I feel compelled to share and warn others. We learned right after moving into our home that mold was under all of our flooring in our kitchen and dining room. KM Builders didn’t allow a leveling agent to dry before installing the flooring. When we gave KM builders the opportunity to fix the mold issue that they created, they actually caused more damage by taking our kitchen apart and not putting it back correctly. Our kitchen island is lopsided, drawers don’t close, and the mini fridge that was originally installed no longer fits and sits in the middle of the walkway. Flooring was carelessly put back together and not leveled, even though we originally paid extra to level the flooring. There are still marks and damage to the walls and ceiling. We were displaced for about a month due to the mold remediation and KM Builders did not provide any assistance for displacement and other costs involved with their damages. Throughout the construction process, KM Builders left debris and trash everywhere. We had trash ending up in neighbors’ yards and KM Builders never showed any concern of cleaning up their work, especially during demo and installation days. Several of their project managers quit throughout our project due to disorganization and other internal company issues so there was never any supervision for the work being done. In fact, we found workers using our yard as their toilet, even though there was a portable toilet provided. We are currently going through insurance and the CSLB and we want to warn others to stay clear of KM Builders. When we filed an insurance claim against KM, their own adjuster said it looked like children worked on our home. Although it is hard to find a reliable General Contractor, you are better off going through either a reliable referral or just getting the education yourself and subcontracting the work out.
