They were fast. They were knowledgeable. They took care of everything. They were responsive. They were kind. I say do what you do best and let others do what they do best. I don't want to have to worry about things out of my realm of knowledge. That's why I use Angie's List. I got lucky with E.L. Electric. Veronica was the most helpful staffer. Thank you. Javier knew his work. He fixed things that others were perplexed by. I have a fully functioning house again. The best part is the bedroom light that has been "broken" for years is now fixed. Now I can actually see in my closet again.

I had contacted the provider via Angie's List early on June 18th. A few hours later I decided to buy one of their coupons $113.00 and a savings of $25.00. They were very responsive and we scheduled a time for the next day between 1 and 4 PM. I received a follow up call asking if they could come earlier in the morning since the guys were not that busy. I could not accomodate an earlier time. I recieved another follow up call asking if we could postpone the service for the following Tuesday because something had come up. I preferred to stay with Friday and they said okay; however, they told me they might be there earlier and I thought that was fine. I got the impression the scheduling was not very organized but in the end they showed up at the original time. The chandelier needed hooks to hang from the ceiling since the electrical box was not right above the table. Javier said he could run to Home Depot and get the hooks. Sounded good to me and I accepted there would be extra cost for time and materials. While Javier did a great job technically, the bought silver hooks for hanging a brown metal chandelier. Since I didn't want to cause any delay I accepted the hooks. I like Javier a lot for his technical skills but buying silver hooks for an antique looking light fixture was crazy. We went and bought hooks more appropriate and replaced them. We were both really surprised there was no discussion about the silver hooks. It just looked horrible. That is pretty much the basis for my B rating.

.I talked to someone on Friday because I had purchased a special for ceiling fan installation. I had paid $339.00 for the instllation and then was told that it would cost more to do the wireing. This was in coupon but I had not seen it. So I asked how much it would be and was told about 153..00. She said someone would be here on Monday and would give me a more accurate price. When workers arrived I showed them what had to be done and He asked what I was told it would be and I gave him no I was quoted. I assumed they would give me another quote before they did the work. Was told they would get started so I went out and bought the fans and they began to work. When they finished He called His boss and was told the charge would be 225.00 each. The person on the phone did not talk to me and I found that most unproffessional. I told the worker that I was not happy and to relay that I definitally would not use them again. The worker apoligized, but it wasn't His fault. For the owner this is no way to run a business

There were a couple of outlets outside they left uncovered without putting them back on. They were ok.

couldn't be better. bought a special deal voucher on Angie's list late last night and the job is complete way less than 24 hrs later. the company was prompt and appropriately proactive in contacting me to schedule. the electrician called a few minutes in advance as I requested. he was polite, pleasant and professional. I will definitely use this company again and highly recommend. fantastic price. very pleased.

WE NEEDED A RUSH SERVICE CALL AND THEY GOT IT SCHEDULE FOR THE NEXT DAY. !!! SUPER FAST SERVICE THE REPAIT TECHNICIAN, JAVIER IS AN AMAZING GUY. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME WE HAVE HAD HIM COME TO DO WORK FOR US. EACH TIME, HE IS PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL, VERY NICE AND DID A GREAT JOB. Javier was punctual and did a good job. I was told 2 people were going to do the job but only one worker came. The Senior discount was applied, but not the Angie's List discount.

One of our tenants needed a new ceiling fan and I got a coupon from El Electric to install a ceiling fan for $99 which was a very good price from others I looked at on Angie's List. They were fantastic! Unfortunately the fan they installed wound up being defective. They removed it and I purchased a new fan for them to install a few days later. They came out again and did not charge to install the second fan! The guy was very nice and professional. I will definitely use them again in the future! Very happy customer!!!

Javier was Fabulous! Showed up a few minutes early, examined the room where the ceiling fan was going to be installed and then he explained everything to me in detail so that I understood it. His work was great and he cleaned up after himself so that I could barely tell I had had work done in the room.

I’ve become very cynical about home service tradesmen, even those on Angie’s list and so don’t often review but my recent experience for EL Electric was outstanding in every way. They arrived on time, with enough men for the job, delivered first-rate work within the amount quoted. When, a week or so later, there appeared to be some trouble with the wiring (actually it was my mistake) they returned immediately with two electricians and when they realized it was an error – albeit mine – they did not charge for the call. Honest, hardworking, and reliable: Not easy to find nowadays.

They came out and quoted promptly, estimate was reasonable, came and did work on a friday,brought supplies changed noisy ceiling fan. Replaced in ceiling light fixture and wiring. Arrived on time did everything by 3 pm

I called them to set up the appointment and they informed me they are in California. I live in South Carolina and purchased the deal by mistake. I got the deal refunded.

I spoke with the owner and I found him very confusing and hard to communicate with. He also has a bad attitude, was uncorporative, and immediately mentioned the job may exceed the big deal amount to exchange the ceiling fans. He was also very vague about when he could do the work. He also answered the phone very unprofessionally.

Things went quite well. Joshua is a hard worker didn't mind explaining things to me. He also helped me clean up afterwards.

After purchasing the discount certificate, El Electric contacted me within the same week. Thereafter, however, we had a little trouble setting up the exact date of their service visit. After a while, I got in touch with them again to confirm the day of the appointment. That's the only reason for the "B" in the Responsiveness category. However, I admit the difficulty in setting the appointment was partly my fault, due to my hectic schedule. Once the appointment was made, though, all went smoothly. Joshua showed up not just on time, but early, and had everything completed promptly. Thank you, Joshua!

I bought an Angie's List deal for the instillation of a ceiling fan, for $69. As this is December, the need for a ceiling fan is not very high, which had them ready to install the fan the moment I paid for the deal, on Wednesday. I wasn't planning for an immediate install, as didn't yet have the fan. But I bought the fan over the weekend and we scheduled for Monday. The technician arrived Monday and was quite friendly and ready to go. We had a couple of challenges installing the fan. I own a condo rather than a house they were expecting. Then we wanted the fan where there was no previous light so no electricity was going to there, which meant the extra electrical box had to be added, and added to the cost. And because there was no electricity going there, the ceiling needed to be cut into in order to place the electrical box. Then the electrician needed to run wire from the box to where the electrical power existed, and that meant two more cuts into the wall and ceiling. Because drywall replacement isn't is what they do, I now would have three places to fix on the wall and ceiling. After a conversation with the office, we went ahead. The whole process went better than expected, and took about 2 hours. The only negative about the whole process is that all those extra elements the technician needed to work through meant additional time and money. And I'm a terrible negotiator. The extra $400 was purely a number that came out of the conversation with the office that, in my mind, was a fluid number depending on the actual difficultly the technician might run into. That the cost could go down based on his evaluation on completion, especially considering I would need to do all the drywall repair myself. That really wasn't the case, that was the price charged, and I felt like I lost the negotiation. Other than that, the whole transaction from initial contact to the completed work was actually very pleasant.

When I called to make the appointment, I asked if there was anything I should pick up ahead of time. The woman explained that the electrician would have everything he needed on the truck. He showed up on time and was professional in his work. I liked how everything turned out and I have no complaints with the work. However, he did not have the part he needed and had to go to Home Depot. The cost was more than anticipated because I paid additional for the trip fee. I wish I would have known that ahead of time so I had the part ready for him.

I had a handyman put in a new timer for my porch lights that the housekeeper had broken. The guy that did it made a mess out of it and it did not work. I went onto Angie's List and was looking for electrical companies near my area - Sherman Oaks. When I called El Electric, they set up an appointment with me for the following day. They had a great special going on - $55.00 per hour. The technician arrived exactly on time; could not have been nicer; took out the new timer that was wired totally wrong by the handyman that installed it, and replaced it with a different timer that I had purchased. He showed me how to work it. I was so happy to have porch lights working again last night! The original timer that I had bought did not have any switch to even turn them on. The new one that I bought has a switch that can turn them on manually if need be. I will always use this company again. The electrician, Javier,, that they sent out, was so good at what he did. I could not be happier! He knew his stuff so well and did an excellent job. I highly recommend them.

I purchased 1 hour service to change 5 standard outlets to GFCI outlets. Due to one of the outlets not being able to do we only ended up switching 4 outlets. The technician said it would take about 15 min per outlet. He only brought 3 GFCI so he said he will put the clock on hold and go get some more. To save time I volunteered to pick up some more. After completing the work he called the main office and the manager said I owed $120 more for going 20 minutes over the 1 hour deal I purchased and for the 3 GFCI units. I purchased the exact same ones at home depot but they said no we have to charge you for the ones we used. I would have been ok with them charging me only for the GFCI units but not the additional time it took me to run and get the GFCI units. $80 was the extra time fee. They will take advantage of you if they get a chance. If the technician says he has to call the office to get a quote you better run and hire someone else. They are running a scam. BEWARE and BEWARNED!

Joshua electrician came on time. He got right to the work and fixed the problem within half an hour. he wa very knowledgable and quick. He was also very courteous.

I'd purchased a Big Deal for $49 for one hour service call + labor to have a light installed. However, it was impossible to make an appt with them. During a long, convoluted phone call with the company, it turns out they put Angie's List folks on a lower tier than their regular customers and "go by areas and not by customer's schedules", meaning they only call Big Deal customers to come to the house within the hour only if the company is already in the area. One cannot make an appt for any time in the future when it fits your schedule. The woman also said Angie's List told them they had 6 months to fulfill the coupon, so they were in no hurry to honor it. She wanted to know if I had 1-hr advance notice availability during the week and I told her no, I need about a week's notice and needed to write it in my datebook! I finally gave up and told her I'd never heard of this type of scheduling practice before and would call Angie's List for a refund. It's like they didn't want my business.

That was fine. It was good. He was very punctual. He did what I asked him. I only had a minimum thing to do. I had no complaints. It was one of the better services that I got through Angie's List. I didn't have to pay anything extra. It was just the amount that I paid for the deal.
