It seemed they were more concerned about future work than the task at hand

It went great. They were on time and did a great job, quickly.

The type of work that we needed fell under the scope of the Fine Print of the deal that we purchased. The electrician tried to upsell us when he arrived, and we felt like it was a bait and switch type of situation we were in.

The work was done quickly and efficiently, and quality of the work was done well.

This is an update to my prior review of 02/25/2017. EL Electric called me when they saw my review of 02/25/2017 on AngiesList. In that phone call, they said they would refund the disputed $150. EL Electric stated that when they were on site to do the agreed upon work, a resident of our Condo complex directed them to install light sensors on two unrelated exterior light fixtures. This resident did not represent herself as a member of the Board, and had no authority to contract for this work. No one on the Board was contacted to approve the additional work. I have received the refund of $150. I greatly appreciate EL Electric’s response to the review on AngiesList, and the refund. They have corrected this error. If this had been EL Electric’s response when I contacted them via email with my complaint, I would give them a A rating, and I would consider hiring them again. As I stated before, their work is excellent, they make appointments promptly, and they are completely professional when they are here. Mistakes happen. What is important is the response to the mistake. The fact remains that my complaint was dismissed when I made it directly to EL Electric. They only responded when I posted the complaint on AngiesList.

installed light fixture. Fixture was damaged during storms. I had the company come out and take a look at the fixture and they told me that the plugs were not installed (to keep water out). I also showed them the water damage inside my home. A couple of days went by and I never heard from them when I called to find out what was going on the receptionist told me that the water damaged couldn't have been caused by the light and that they would have someone look at it I haven't heard anything from them since. The light is a motion sensor light but only stays on .

I am on the Board of our Condo HOA. We have hired EL Electric for several jobs over the last year or two. They show up on time, while here the are professional, the work is excellent, and the prices are fair. I am giving them a 'C' rating, and I will very likely not hire them again, because of their business decision on this most recent job. A written quote for $500 was received via email 1/31. I replied to that email with this question (the following are direct quotes from the emails exchanged): "Both lights, as they are now, only come on when it is dark. I do not know the mechanism that makes them work that way. Will the new ones act the same way and only come on when it's dark?" The email response was "The new ones will act the same way and only come on when it's dark. Let us know when to schedule." The HOA Board approved the quote for $500, the work was done on 2/14. I received an invoice for $650, which reflected additional charges for the light-sensor. I protested to EL Electric, submitting the email-string, and stated that I had every reason to believe the light-sensors were included in the original quote for $500. EL Electric would not alter their final invoice. I am mailing a check for the full amount of $650 today 2/25. I understand that that a quote is an estimate. But I asked specifically if the quote for $500 included lights that only came on when it's dark, and the response was 'yes'. We have more electrical work to do at our condo, and I will be looking for a new electrician.

They were able to come out immediately. They did a great job and while they were out I asked for a quote for some other work I needed done. The price they gave me was reasonable so I will probably hire them next month to come finish the rest of what I need.

It was good. I didn't have to pay that much but I don't remember how much it was. If it cost a lot, I would remember. The quality was good. I plan to use them again but I need the new light fixtures I want and stuff so I have to wait awhile before I do it. I will call them. It took them a little while but it's hard to get an electrician. They did call me back. They were nice.

Javier the electrician was fantastic. Although a challenge, he was able to figure out exactly what could be done to accomplish the task at hand. I would definitely hire this company again.

I am used to having lots of difficulty getting in touch with people when I need work done. What a different experience this was! Calls returned promptly, easy scheduling, service was provided on the same day I called! Truly excellent in every way.

This was a $119 big deal purchase. It was fine. Some of the stuff was sorted; some of the stuff was not sorted. They did the work soon after I purchased it. I had to pay for one of the switches that they had to change. Half of the work was unsatisfactory. The workers I came in contact with were unsatisfactory. In the future they could improve by fixing the problems that they were supposed to fix.

Javier arrived promptly the day after I called the EL Electric office for a service call. He showed me the most economical way of connecting a wire from the existing connection to the stove hood to a new junction box (with plug-in outlets for a future hood) and extending inside the wall to the area under the stovetop for the plug-in outlet. He completed the job in a little over an hour.

Javier showed up on time as scheduled, and completed the job within four hours. He replaced 12 internal lights with LED fixtures, and installed a motion detector for the light in the condo community laundry room. He also replaced a burnt out bulb on the building exterior at no cost! I had to ask him to return when the motion detector shut the light off within about 5 seconds. He showed up within 24 hours, and fixed the setting on the detector. I am very happy with the work of EL Electric, and will gladly call them again for electrical needs at our condo complex.

Scheduling was a bit of a problem (with the office, not the electrician) but 3 men arrived, 2 fixed a faulty light fixture and the head electrician located the outlet control ed by the switch at the door and fixed it. All done in less than half an hour.

Called El Electric on a Wednesday and they set an appointment for the next day. They caveat designated appointment time and did a 5 hour project the next day. Showed up and completed job in a professional manner. Very impressed with the quality of service - I highly recommend!

Joshua offered a discount on next, bigger project, an "I don't know" amount. I had to ask for a business card & Javier had to go back out to his truck for it. After they left, I hand-cleaned the mud spots on the carpet.

I called EL around 2 p.m. They promised nothing but said they would try to get someone here today. Xmax light overload and no power without blowing fuses.... Joshua showed around 4 p.m. Figured out the problem . I'm happy. $125 easy peasy. Pleasant fellow, articulate, and a family man. Will def pay them forward. Thank you...

Very good. Javier was punctual, thorough, and careful to do as little damage to my walls as possible so I wouldn't have to repair anything after. It looks great and they were done in about 3 hours.

I called El Electric and they send they technician to me the same day to fix the problem. I really like they service, they are fast, friendly, have a good price for the job that they do, they do nice & clean job and the most important is that they know what they do.
