Description of Work: Rigo and his team at Purple Trees Landscape Maintenance have taken care of our yard since March 2013. They are extremely professional and pleasant to work with. In addition to regular maintenance, they have performed a number of special projects for us including irrigation, drainage and landcaping. We appreciate that we don't need to manage them and that they are very responsive when we have special requests. They proactively maintain shrubs, etc., so that they grow into a nice shape and don't become overgrown.

Description of Work: We recently moved into our first home and wanted to re-vamp the front yard. All the grass had died and the flower beds that lined the front of the house were barren. We reached out to several companies for proposals and ended up settling with Rigo and his team. I can not speak highly enough of Rigo. He was incredibly professional, friendly, and honest. He and his team were punctual and did a fantastic job. When our sod started dying a couple weeks after it was put in, he came out and replaced the dead patches. When we had questions regarding our lawn, citrus trees, or sprinkler system we'd reach out to him even after he had completed the work we contracted him for and he'd answer any questions we have. Neither my fiance nor I have a particularly green thumb, but he never made us feel stupid or crazy with our requests. In total, he replaced our lawn, broken out sections in the sprinkler system so not everything ran at the same time for the same length, put on new sprinkler heads, ripped out old sod and replaced it with new stuff, put in 2 citrus trees, and planted a bunch of roses and small flowering plants. His prices were extremely fair and if we ever need ANYTHING done to the house in the future, we'll be calling Rigo.

Description of Work: Purple Trees Landscape & Maintenance have been taking care of my lawn for about 6 months now, and I have been happy with the service. Rigo, the owner, is very professional, responsive, and definitely has a passion for landscaping. His crew does a good job, mainly just mowing the lawn and some minimal plant trimming - right now we don't have much to speak of as far a foliage goes on our property. The rate for our property's needs is $135 per month - I'm sure the rate varies based on the workload. | |I would say my only criticism is that sometimes the crew can be a little sloppy - broke a few cheap plastic solar lights I have in the backyard, sometimes don't blow leaves off the front stoop/steps and away from the garage door, etc. And they do tend to not be extremely proactive, leading me to find things like weeds and a newly planted tree that was dead. So I do have to give them a slightly lower rating for quality. However, as soon as I bring any issues to Rigo's attention, he makes sure they are taken care of immediately. | |I did have them plant about 25 new tree/shrubs in my front yard, as well as move the sprinklers to accommodate the trees, about a month ago, and I was charged approximately $1800 for everything, including the trees themselves, which I felt was fair. As I mentioned above, one of the trees died, but once I brought it to Rigo's attention, he had the tree replaced for free, and so far so good with the rest of them - growing tall and strong. I was very happy with the result, and we are now talking with Rigo about added trees to our backyard. | |Overall, I would highly recommend Purple Trees if you care about your lawn, trees, and plants, and you want them to look great. As long as you bring any needs to Rigo's attention, he and his crew can deliver. I will be continuing to use them and am very satisfied.

Description of Work: This was for initial cleanup and renovation of moderate sized garden with a great deal of overgrowth and a large slope. Large vines and shrubs were trimmed and smaller ones rounded and cleaned up. Everything was minicured and all trimmings removed. I couldn't be more pleased.

Description of Work: We had weeds everywhere in our backyard. We had uneven dirt and debris all over. Rigo and his crew arrived on time and began chopping away at the weeds. Then removed bricks and rocks and other debris. Raked and removed the remaining brush. Rototilled the entire yard as well as leveled and graded it. Cleaned up the mess as well by hosing down the driveway and walk way.

Description of Work: I pay $100 per month for weekly Lawn and Yard maintenance for what's approximately 2000+sqft of yard space (front and back yards). Mow and blow, keeping up the flower beds and hedges, making sure the sprinklers are working properly... and most importantly I pay for the professionalism, responsiveness and English speaking skills this gardener posses... finally!

Description of Work: Rigo Perez owns Purple Trees Landscaping and Maintenance. I called several gardeners to come out and give me estimates and he was the only one who showed up/returned my call. The house is a rental property and is currently vacant and I live 90 minutes away. The last gardener who worked there (like the other 2 before him) just mowed the lawn and blew leaves, and after three years of that, and then no service at all for a month, both the front and back yards looked like a house a bank owned and forgot about. Everything was overgrown, weeds were crowding out the grass which was shin height. Years worth of dead leaves had accumulated in the potted plants. The climbing vines which cover the house had 1/4 inch of dust. Spider's webs, leaves etc were tangled in them and one portion of the yard couldn't even be accessed because the vines had grown so thick that the gate wouldn't open. Plus, the last gardener thought it would be a good idea to plant the flower bed that ran along the front walkway with not flowers but corn stalks or something in the corn family. They looked like hay stacks. (I have no idea what he was thinking). This house is located in a prestigeous neighborhood on the westside and is capable of renting for a lot of money, but the way it looked nobody was interested---nobody even saw it when they walked passed. Rigo met with me at my convenience, was on time, took his time to walk the property with me and find out what I wanted, then submitted 2 bids that evening. One for weekly maintenance and one for a one-time clean up. Each bill itemized exactly what was to be done. His monthly price for front and back yard was $145. The one time clean up was $382. The price seemed a little bit high to me, I have to be honest, but I've been used to paying gardeners who come out once a week, turn on the sprinklers, mow the grass , chase the leaves out of the yard and leave. The sickly plants stay sickly. The dead plants stay dead---month after month. The healthy plants take over the whole yard and look ragged. He explained that he and his crew are meticulous. They stand there and pick dead leaves out of foliage one by one, make sure all the plants are sculpted, keep everything perfectly fertilized, so that the yard looks wonderful when they're done but it looks better and better every time they come, until everything looks the way plants look in a nursury. I liked him. He was up front and easy to talk to. He was exceptionally polite and picked up his phone EVERY TIME I CALLED. So I hired him for the one-day fix, and he came out two days later and worked a miracle on that yard. It hasn't looked this good in 20 years. He didn't leave a leaf on the walk, OR a leaf in the potted plants OR a leaf tangled in the creeping fig covering all the walls. Everything in the yard 6 feet and under was pruned and sculped just like he said. The vines that had taken over one side of the yard were removed. He put in stepping stones, took the corn out and planted really nice flowers all over the yard and fertilized everything. Now everything has a bright shiny quality to it. Now I'm spoiled and I want to keep him for weekly maintenance even though it's a rental just because the difference between what I was getting for $110 and what he does for $145 is light years! I know under his care that yard is going to bloom 4 seasons year and the spiders are going to all move next door. He's insured so I trust him to trim my tallest trees, and there's no language barrier or difficulty getting in touch with him. He keeps hims appointments and commitments. I can't recommend him highly enough. Whoever put him on Angie's List to begin with---thank you!

Description of Work: Rigo is my regular landscaper. For $150 per month, he maintains my entire yard. Once a year, for an additional fee, he will also fertilize and plant new flowers. He also trims all the trees, when requested, again for an additional fee. We live in a gated community with very high standards for the upkeep of our private yards. I've used Rigo for over five years and have never had a single complaint from the homeowner's association or any of my neighbors. In fact, several have asked for his info and hired him since he does such a consistently excellent job. He may be a little more expensive, but I happily pay his costs for his high quality work, his consistency of performing all his duties and his professionalism. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering bringing on a permanent landscaper, esepcially if you have been disappointed by others in the past who don't consistently keep your yard and landscape up to your personal standards.

Description of Work: Purple Tree Landscaping is an extremely professional and cost effective company. Rigo and his staff trimmed and manicured my front and back yard. I purchased a home that had not been maintained for years. There was over growth throughout the yard. When Rigo and his crew were done it made my yard look wonderful. I could see the tapanga canyons and the view I never knew I had.
