Description of Work: Had a main pipe burst underneath the house. We informed the landlords of the issue immediately. They contacted Womack, and Womack contacted us to schedule a "good time" to come by. We gave them a 2-3 hour window of time frame, and they said they would try to make it. They did not make it in this time frame. They suggested for us to allow the landlord to open the house while we were not there. We said No for insurance purposes because of having a dog. We re-scheduled, and they stated they would be here first thing in the morning, so we waited, and waited, and waited some more to find that they didn't show up until 3 p.m. The work did not start to get done until the next day. Once the work started, the work was done over a 3 day period of which we understood, and think they did quite well for what they had to work with.

I woke up late one morning to find out that I had no water in the house (well system). Thinking that the pressure switch which is attached to the pressure tank by a 1/8and quot; pipe had frozen during the night since overnight temperatures were hitting -15 degrees I figured all I had to do was thaw the pipe. After several hours of and quot;thawingand quot; a frozen pipe and still not having any water I called Womack Plumbing. Due to previous negative experience with service providers of all types in Susanville, CA I called Womack Plumbing because they had the biggest ad in the phone book and I hoped that having a big ad meant they actually returned phone calls and did good work which would allow them to run a larger ad. When I called (at 9:30 a.m.) I explained that I had no water in my house which also meant that I had no toilets, and that I had my in-laws over with three of my very young nieces and nephews. They stated that they were very busy due to the weather but they would be out sometime in the afternoon. I called later in the afternoon about 4:15 p.m. just to get an ETA as we were heading into the evening and house with no toilets and 7 people was not very desirable. The gentleman I spoke to stated they were just finishing up on a job and they would be there in about 45 minutes. A father and son team arrived at 4:45 p.m. They were both clean, polite, and well mannered. Needless to say I had nearly waist deep ice water under my house that wasn't draining due to a vaper barrier that had been installed on the ground. The son willing went into the water under the house and fixed the pipe while his father handed him parts and tools. They had the system fixed in just under two hours. They presented me a bill for only $175 which i felt was more than reasonable since they had to crawl under my house in hypothermia inducing water and out side air temperatures dropping near zero. Although what they did was a temporary fix, I will have them out in the spring to fix the water line completely to my irrigation system when the water under my house has drained and the temperatures have risen.
Description of Work: Crawl under house and sit in waist deep ice water (outside air temperature was 15 degrees at the time), cut a clean line in a supply pipe and cap off the line until water could drain out and problem could be fixed in the spring.
