Ivan was on time and efficient. He evaluated the problems and gave me an estimate. I also received a senior discount which is always welcome on a fixed income. He also was very personable and worked around my schedule. While he was getting replacement parts, I went grocery shopping and he agreed to wait for me if he returned before I did. That was much appreciated. I'm a caregiver and my schedule can get a bit hectic.

I initially contacted Ivan to have him come do a plumbing inspection for my house. He showed up on time, listened to my concerns about a few things, and then went about inspecting all aspects of the plumbing. When he was done he explained the various issues to me and gave me his opinions on what he thought I might should do. I never felt any pressure from him -- he seemed fair and balanced, as opposed to pushing me to do something that really didn't need to be done. Within a day or two I received a full written estimate from him for each of the things we discussed. On two of the items (installing pressure regulator and installing new shower valve cartridge), his prices were better than what another plumber had verbally quoted me several months earlier. I set an appointment with Ivan to have three of the things done. On the day we agreed on, he showed up on time, got the work done, and left the place clean. It's been a couple of weeks, and everything seems to be in working order. He did quality work at a fair price. I would definitely recommend him to all Angie's List members for plumbing work in the Santa Cruz area.

We were out of town when we got a call from guests in our rental that the drain was backed up. I called Ivan and explained the situation. He shuffled his schedule and dropped by within a couple of hours, fixed the problem and charged us a very reasonable rate. Of all the trades, plumbing has always been my least favorite. I've dealt with a half dozen over the years and each time it's been a miserable experience. Ivan was a breath of fresh air. I would definitely use him again. Thanks Ivan!

We called Ivan and got same day service. He showed up at the house on time, diagnosed the problem in a few minutes and pulled most of the parts he needed out of his van. When he found one part that he couldn't replace from his stock, he took ten minutes to get the right part from Ace Hardware. All done within an hour. He cleaned up in a way that we'd never have known he was there.

The installation of the new toilet was done last year & all is still working well. I picked Patterson Plumbers from the add in one of your monthly mags.

The water shutoff valve in the garage has been weeping water around the valve handle. Ivan Patterson was one of the few firms who responded to my weekend call and was available to do the work two days later on President's Day. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication between him and his staff and the plumber showed up a half hour earlier than scheduled. It was a tricky replacement with the valve being located through a 9" wide gap between the water softener and the salt tank. The valve I bought at Home Depot turned out to be slightly too long to fit between the water pressure regulator and a 90 degree elbow that penetrated the wall. Fortunately, Jose Hernandez had a slightly shorter version in his truck and it only cost $10 more than mine. He completed the job in under an hour without scorching either of my water softener tanks or the wall - and he put the valve handle on the correct side of the assembly (unlike the builders). On the flip side, he made no effort to clean up the water or solder fragments splattered around. Patterson Plumbing also refused to honor their $50 coupon for Angie's List members claiming that I already received a great price on the work. It appears that they may be one of those vendors that simply inflates their normal price in order to make Angie's List customers feel good about receiving a discount (since the coupon was not disclosed in advance).

Excellent service. Had a couple of issues and i called Ivan. He was good to accommodate me the same day. The first issue was not a real issue and Jose told me that upfront. The second issue was leaking toilet. The wax ring needed to be replaced, he gave me a quote and since i was a first time customer he honored the $50 off. Nice job, cleaned the mess thoroughly, neat and tidy. Will use them again. These guys are not the usual plumbers you see, they seem to be honest and good.

I called for non-emergency service on Saturday and set up an appointment for the following Monday morning. Jose arrived on schedule and, provided an estimate. Finished the job, left work areas neat within (roughly) a half hour - below estimate. He was very professional and courteous. This was my second call to Patterson Plumbing and I placed the on my favorites list.

Jose was both professional and personable, He was a bit late for reasons not his fault but complications on a previous job, and Ivan let me know they were running behind and I appreciated that. Jose also gave us an estimate to repair a leaking pipe. We ended up using another company because the price was better, but I would call Jose at Patterson again without hesitation. He was a very good plumber and all around nice guy.

Jose was able to come out the same morning that I called about the drain. Jose helped us find a good electrician to re-do some problem electrical work before he could clear the drain and and replace the disposal. Patterson is not inexpensive, but they do good work and we would call them again.

Jose was pleasant and competent. He did all the work in a few hours. After he finished the leak fix, he took a lunch break so the adhesive joint could dry. Then he tested it to make sure everything was working right.

Representative was punctual, cordial, knowledge, efficient and cleaned up afterwards. Would hire them again without hesitation.

I was on a trip and received word from family that there was water flooding out from the crawl space. Even though it was after hours, I called Patterson Plumbing, indicated what was wrong, that we had turned off the water, but didn't need them to respond until the next day. Ivan called me back within 30 minute and had a technician out the next morning. There was tons of mud and water for the tech to crawl through and it was a real mess. Nevertheless, they crawled around under the house and repaired the pipes. I didn't get back from my trip until the evening, but all was fixed and I was able to take care of everything via phone calls. Patterson Plumbing has done work for me before and I won't ever use another plumbing service. They are the best, most professional and honest folks I've worked with. Ivan Patterson knows his stuff and his prices are reasonable and fair. I highly recommend them!

I thought he was very responsive. He showed up on time. Everything was an “A”. His prices are a little high. I felt that he was able to explain things to me better than the other plumbers that came in the past, years ago. I only needed a plumber like October or November time but he fixed the leak that the other guy found and he replaced the toilet and re-plumbed the area that has a problem and he gave a price before he did it and he did exactly what he charge me afterwards and his work is excellent. I remember that he bought the toilet and the toilet seat and everything and all the things that needed so that was included in his charge so it will be hard to tell you what he actually he charge me for the labor because everything is in my files last year.

He knew about the equipment and said that he could probably fix it without needing to replace the original fixture. It was fixable but we asked if he was able to upgrade the fixtures with a more modern style. He was able to show us a couple of options from which we chose a style that matches the bathroom and shower much better. He was in and out in about an hour and left the work area clean and neat. I forget what he charged but do remember thinking that it was better to have him fix the faucet leak rather than me trying to fix it and running into a problem with old equipment.

He was very good. He knew what he was doing and did good work and got it done fast.

I called him about a clogged drain. He quoted me 175.00 if all he had to do was snake it out. When he got the drain opened he asked if there was anything else. I remembered that a bathroom sink needed a new pipe and stopper put in. He did that and wrote me a bill for the $175 he quoted for the drain. I will recommend him to others and use him as my plumber in the future.

When I first spoke to Ivan, he thought he wouldn't be able to perform the work until Wednesday (I called on Monday). After a discussion about what I observed around the water heater, I decided I would rather wait for him to be available than take a chance on an unknown plumber. He impressed me on the phone with his knowledge and concern. He told me he would check his schedule and call me back in a few minutes to set a time for Wednesday. When he called back, I was delighted to hear that he would adjust his work to allow him to be at my house on the same day at 1:00 p.m. He promised to call when he was en route and he did, arriving 20 minutes early. He quickly assessed the situation, informed me of the cost and proceeded with the work. When we had spoken on the phone during our initial contact, Ivan asked me what size water heater I had and I said I thought it was a 40-gallon tank (there being no indication on it). When he started work, he came in to tell me my tank was actually a 50-gallon tank. We discussed the household size and use and determined that a 40-gallon tank would be more than adequate. It was impressive that he brought this to my attention and I thanked him. Ivan is an extraordinary service provider. Not only is he knowledgeable and clearly ethical, he is also personable and obviously dedicated to a high standard of service. I will contact him whenever we need plumbing services and recommend him to everyone.

Ivan arrived on schedule, assessed job, and after quoting price, started the job. He cleaned out the clogged drain in the garage, proceeded to the clogged drain in the bathroom sink. Next he checked and corrected a pressure problem with the kitchen faucet. In less than an hour he was finished. Left the work areas spotless.

From start to finish really great experience. Ivan was on time, super friendly and knowledgable, and did a great job finding the problem right away and taking care of it. Priced really reasonably and we were able to use a Angie's list coupon. Ivan is a true professional, we will definitely use him again in the future.
