Description of Work: The workmen were great. The staff was very helpful in explaining the work that was needed to repair our fireplace. The work was accomplished in a timely manner, and they did a great job not leaving a mess for us to clean up. We had just replace the carpet and they didn't get a speck of dirt on it! |All in all the experience was great, the fireplace came out beautiful. I just wish fireplace repair wasn't so expensive.

+ -1 moreThe gas was not flowing into the fireplace and we thought it was due to a clog in the line. They came and discovered that it was actually due to a malfunctioning key that opened the gas line to the fireplace.
Description of Work: Our gas-light fireplace was not working and they came to help.

+ -1 moreCleaning was conducted with care. I would be cautious of their opinion on other repairs.
Description of Work: Had them inspect and clean fireplace after purchasing our home. The rep told me how the lining of the chimney was cracked, probably from the last earthquake and needed repair in the $1800 range. I had them clean the chimney only and had another company look at the chimney for a second opinion. The second company confirmed that no crack existed. He showed me the lining on a camera. I was unhappy that Fireplace Freddie tried to sell me something I didn't need. They lost my trust for good.

+ -1 moreThey were very polite, used drop cloths & left the house as they found it. They were thorough & identified and explained problems. Could have been a little more prompt;my appointment was the first of the day & the company is a few blocks away. Appointment was made for arrival between 10:00 & 11:00 a.m. and they arrived at 11:00 a.m. I had asked in advance how long the job would take and was told an hour 1/2, approx. Job took over three hours from start to finish.
Description of Work: Cleaned & inspected two chimneys/fireplaces. Identified problems in one & will return for video inspection.

Description of Work: Evaluated and had them clean and repair two of three chimneys. When their inspectors came out, found out they hadn't actually cleaned one of the chimneys! They returned and did the work.

+ -1 moreI did not have a problem with the work, but the way it was done. The workers put a huge sign in the front of our building with their name and number on it without asking. They also used our bathtub as a garbage bin. We were also overcharged and had to wait a week to receive a check refund by mail even though we had paid with a credit card. Numerous black smudge marks were left on our walls and we had just painted.
Description of Work: Came to re-grout & repair hearth, repair cracks. Installed new materials.

+ -1 moreOn time, reasonable, professional, friendly, clean. This was to install firestop walls on 3 sides in attic surrounding the chimney. I've had them clean the fireplace several times. One year I called another place by mistake and two weeks later was smoking and the other company did not respond. Had to have this company come back and do it the right way. Note: Cleaning is less expensive by about $70 per visit in summer months. Not sure about the price on the firestop as I did not get any other bids.
