Steve was very prompt, efficient and clean.

As always, Steve was very responsive, arriving two hours after my call. He had the parts with him and the job was completed quickly. After installing the equipment, he checked the door operation to be sure the opener was also working properly and sprayed the springs and door hinges to help prevent rusting and noise.

Garage door springs broken just before we wanted to leave to visit a friend. Called Empire and Steve promptly returned the call and setup an appointment to repair the door opener. He arrived on time and repaired the unit in a professional manner.

I called Steve and told him what the problem was. He asked me questions about the model I had and walked me through fixing it myself. It took three minutes and my garage door works now. It was incredibly nice of Steve to help me by phone and it cost me nothing. I would definitely call Steve again if I have a problem with my garage door. What a nice guy!

Great-there was a hard rain and he came a few minutes early(this never happens with repairman). He was professional, did the work quickly, clean truck, neat appearance, and fair price.

Steve is fantastic! I called him around 6 p.m. the night before to schedule someone to come look at my garage door opener. He was able to schedule me for the next day at noon. He showed up exactly on time, after calling me first to say he was on his way (love that). He took a look at my opener, the way it was operating, and using his swiss army knife, adjusted something on the unit that controls where the door closes. It took him all of about 5 minutes. He also replaced the burned out light bulb in the unit and used WD-40 on the springs and hardware, all for free! I offered to pay him something for his time, but he said "no." Can you believe that? When does that ever happen? I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone and everyone!

One of the springs on my pretty old garage door broke late Saturday night. I called several places Sunday morning and Empire called me back later in the day. They said they could be out Monday morning. They arrived 30 minutes early and immediately assessed the problem. I told the man that I was thinking I should replace the door since it's old and noisy and he looked it over and told me it was in pretty good shape and was not in need of being replaced right now. He said the noise was coming from the garage door opener which he lubed and made a few adjustments to gratis. He replaced the spring and did several adjustments to the door, fixed it so it opened all the way which made it safer with a higher ground clearance. He was done in less than a half hour, completely professional, knowledgeable and honest. What more could you possibly want? As long as I have a garage door they have a customer.

I have a property management company and needed a quick response to the tenants complaint that the garage door would not open. They were out there in two hours, called me with estimate and recommendation that the door was also in poor shape. The owner elected to just replace the garage door opener, which they did, bringing it up to date for current safety standards. They took the time to instruct the tenants as to its operation.

My garage door started going up and down on its own, without being controlled by me, like in the middle of the night. I looked for a company on Angie's list and called several on a Saturday, after discovering the problem on Friday evening. At first I had thought that maybe I was somehow forgetting to close the garage door, but when it closed on its own while I was sitting in the car, I realized it was broken. Because my garage door, all my stuff, and my backyard was open and exposed on a dark alley at night or while I was at work, I considered this pretty much of an emergency. I called several companies. One company answered their phone and made an appointment for me on Monday morning. I asked if there was some way I could turn it off and operate the door manually, so that I would have a way to protect my stuff. He said yes, and told me something about cutting a red wire. I didn't really understand it and couldn't picture it. I was away from home at the time I called, driving in my car. It sounded simple enough. I asked if when I got home, if i couldn't figure it out, could I call him back and ask for him to walk me through it. He said yes. When I got home, I didn't see any red wires. I called him and got voicemail. I left a message. I had already called about 3 other companies, earlier. I did not get a call back from any of them, even though their Angie's company info said they were open on Saturday, or 24/7 response. I had chosen companies close to where I live, so then, I looked back on The list and found Empire. I called and left a message on voice mail. Within a couple of minutes, Steve called me back. He got an understanding of the problem and I asked if he could tell me how to turn it off and operate it manually. He said sure, and he explained it, and he didn't mention cutting any wires, which I was glad about. He patiently waited and walked me through it, and it was quite simple. He said he could come the same day, but if I could wait, he would come Monday morning. Since I could manually operate it and keep it closed, I could wait until Monday. I felt good after talking to Steve. I was glad to know that from now on, if I have a garage door problem, I will know who to call. Steve came on Monday and stalled the new opener. He was friendly and his work was neat and thorough. The new opener works fine and I was very happy with this experience. To me, communication is one of the very most important parts of doing business with someone. Empire's level of communication was superior to any of the other companies I called. One of them did call me back the following week, and one of them never called me back. That Steve answered my call immediately is very important to me, it means a lot. Some of the other companies may be good, but this kind of communication makes this company special.

Steve came to check our garage door opener, which was opening by itself sometimes and other times not opening at all. Other than old age, he could not duplicate the problem and advised that we could keep it until it died or replace it. It did not have a sensor on it anyway, so we decided to replace it due to safety concerns. The unit we ordered was not in stock, so he installed an upgraded unit but did not charge us the additional cost. He also checked the springs and discovered they were completely broken, so he replaced them and serviced all hinges and other parts of the door.

Steve came to my house and together we assessed which garage door would be best (model, color, options, etc.). He got me the door I wanted for the price quoted and in the time span he estimated. He also briefed me on how to prep my garage for installation day. In the mean time, he replaced a broken spring on the old door at no cost. The installer was professional and allowed me to approve window placement before locking the pieces in place. He was very patient while I was making up my mind. We love the door choice and feel it has improved the appearance of our house. I would highly recommend this company for service as well as value.

I went to open the garage door this morning and the door would only partially open. The springs were shot. I called Steve and he gave made an appointment for later that same day. When he came out the repairs were made and the overall opener was also tuned up. Steve gave me a heads up that the bush bearing on the motor sounds like it is going out. He suggested performing maintenance on the springs every 6 months with WD 40 to increase the life of the springs.

Steve arrived within 30 minutes of my phone call. He expertly assessed the problem (some loose bolts, etc. and I needed a new door opener) very quickly. He told me that eventually I would probably need a new system and showed me exactly why. In fact, I figured I would. He fixed the problem quickly and my door is working!Professional, honest, speedy service!

Called Steve and with in an hour he was a the house and found everything working OK, he called me and did not charge me for this trip. Definitely will call him again, I owe him one!!!

Very professional. Came for initial appointment on time, delivered and installed on date and time promised. Have used them in the past for repairs and find them to be fair priced, professional and always go the extra mile for me.

I called Steve on a Saturday Morning witha broken garage door spring. He had me look at the spring and give him a model number. He told me the part would cost $40 but that he would have to get it on Monday. 2 springs @ $40 since it is best to replace both sides. He also said I could replace this large spring with two smaller springs, which were $20 apiece. I asked if he had those in stock. He said yes and also that he could come out that day. He arrived, mounted the 4 springs, then pointed out that the garage door opener was mounted too high and also that the wall braces on the springs were never installed. He added an extension arm to the opener and added braces to the wall. We hadn't discussed what he was gonna charge for these extras. He made out the bill and the total was $155, exactly what he had quoted on the phone. $75 service call plus $80 for 4 springs. He did an excellent job, with extras for free. I would highly recommend him. He is an example out how it should go everytime.

Steve came at the start of the time window he gave me. He took time to make sure that the lock (which was not cooperating) worked properly.

We broke a spring a few days before Christmas, and were sure that 1) We wouldn't be able to find anyone on short notice in the holiday season, 2) Everyone would look at our old door and try to sell us a new one. We joined Angie's List and this was our first experience. It was fantastic! Steve gave us an appointment for the next morning at 9:00am. He arrived early, because he said he allowed extra time for traffic. He fixed our old monster in less than half an hour. The repair of the opener was a bonus! I wasn't even sure it could be fixed and he had the replacement carriage right in his truck. Steve does repairs only, so there was no pressure to sell me a new garage door. (We know we need one, but are happy to get a couple of extra years out of this one.) At my request, he did offer a referral to a colleague who does new doors, when the time comes. All in all Steve was 1st class - knowledgeable, friendly, fast, and at a great price. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

He came the same day we called him. We actually had to ask him to come later because some folks who were staining and finishing newly installed doors in our house were doing the staining in that garage.

The service representative arrived on time and quickly identified and solved the problem. He work was done professionally and neatly, and the technician was courteous and friendly.

Steve was great, on time and very professional. He immediately called us back and was very reasonable. Highly recommend using him!
