This company is excellent! The job was done efficiently, and beautifully. The sales rep, Al was very informative and attentive. The project manager , Carlos was very helpful. Even one of the owners, Trent came to oversee the project and presented very helpful ideas to beautify my project at no extra cost. This has been a very nice experience.

The guys were on time. They said it would take 5 days and it was done in five days. Every evening they cleaned up put saftey tape around potential hazards. The workmanship was very good. They helped pick the material, assisted in a design, and executed the final product. I was very happy with all phases of the jod.

Overall we were satisfied. Crew worked very hard, were courteous and tried to minimize damage. Sales person did not explain that they could install drains. We found out about that after the work started. So, it was a bit of a surprise and added extra cost. Took about 10 days to complete the project. This work was done two years ago and the driveway and deck are holding up well. There are a few problems with cement that was used (almost like a grout or mortar) at the edges and where the driveway meets the pool molding and where it meets walkways and cement stairs. It's starting to deteriorate and will need to be replaced with new mortar. Pacific's price per square foot was in line with other bids that we received. We chose them because of work that they have done previously at the Pasadena Showcase homes.
Description of Work: Removed driveway, pool decking and front walkway and replaced with paving stones. Constructed new walkway of slate and added outdoor drains throughout property.

The plans are descent, not great. | |Been finding that this is pretty standard for almost any of those Angie's List deals.
Description of Work: Purchased a deal from them for landscape plans for about $300. Their original plan cost is about $1200-$1500 I was told. As the project evolved, I was informed that the deal didn't include this and that and at the end of the day paid the exact same for a set of plans than I would have if I just skipped the deal entirely.

I was very impressed with their work. The person that came out, she was very good and very punctual. They were there when they said they were going to be there. She did a really good job in actually designing it. She changed the design almost about 5 times and it was really good. I would recommend him to anybody else. She even put extra time into it but she didn’t charge me on it. She just went ahead and just gave me the final draft that I wanted. It was well worth it.

The company's materials, workmanship and overall reputation appear to be superior, but I was not happy with the consultation process. The person was about 30 minutes late to each of the two appointments. He did not offer a business card on the first trip. On the second trip he did not bring the proposal and asked me how much he quoted me last time (odd.) SInce he was late on this appointment as well, my time was really limited, as I had made plans for that evening. As we stood outside on the driveway, he started a really pushy hard-sell and continued after I told him I was late for my plans and that I was getting cold standing out there. I did not like this experience, so I went with another company that I paid $1500 more for the same job. It was worth it.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and he did a really good job. I had a couple of follow up issues with them. When they came out to do the initial work they were on time and did wonderfully. I had trouble getting them out to come and finish up a couple of minor things they said they were going to do. They did not come even though I called them. They said they would get to them, but they didn't. The contractor seemed like a really nice guy, but we did all of the work over the telephone. It did not seem like he heard me after the first couple of sentences and he was not reading the rest of my emails. Up to that point they did a good job of putting in the patio and the back yard. They were quite timely with that, but I am not quite as pleased at the end as I was at the beginning. There was an issue with one defective paving stone that they said they would come out and fix, but they never did.
Description of Work: I used Pacific Pavingstone to take out my old patio and put all new pavers in my back yard. They also put in sprinklers and new sod. They also took out a couple of trees and some hedging.

After purchasing the big deal for a landscape design I contacted the company and set up an appt for consultation. The appt was set up at a time that was convenient to me. Kathy Yaude came over and we sat for several hours in my backyard going through ideas, looking at pictures and essentially getting a sense of what I was looking for. Kathy then left and put together the design based on what we had spoken about. Kathy came back another time to take exact measurements. A few day later I received the design via email and Kathy and I spoke about modifications that needed to be made. The design was then adjusted and resent to me fairly quickly. It was just what I wanted. I had also asked for prices that would allow me to do the project in stages, which were provided. I found Kathy to be great to work with and the process as a whole was excellent. I have not actually moved forward with the actual landscaping project at this time for personal reasons. However I hope to do so in the future.

These guys are professionals - really. They were amazingly clean, precise and accurate. The crew showed up on time and got down to business. My neighbors were amazed and have stopped by to ask for their contact information. It is obvious they take a great deal of pride in what they do. When the job was completed I received a call from Brian G from their Quality Control Division. I was impressed they actually had a QC Division. They wanted to make sure I was happy with every aspect of their business - a very nice touch. I will use this company again for sure. Next year I think I will have them install a fireplace in my back yard. Looking forward to working with them again. Darrell
Description of Work: Drive way, walk way, and front step.
I had a design in mind for a new patio. I gave the drawing to the salesperson who came to do the estimate, and they did exactly what I wanted, with some professional suggestions. The crew showed up on time, at 8 A.M. There were three guys there the first day, they ripped out all the ugly concrete, trees, old tree stump and a three feet tall broken down brick planter in no time flat. I had to go to work, so I left them unsupervised. By the time I got home, they had cleaned out and graded the whole area and there was a pallet of pavers on my driveway, ready to go. The next day, there were seven guys there, they laid out all the pavers, did a beautiful job, created areas where I wanted to leave open for planting. They even added PVC pipes in case I want to add sprinklers later. They also put in the two planting boxes I provided for a vegetable garden. They cut the pavers around the plumbing and electrical areas as well as the two planting boxes which had decorative corners. The cuts were clean and precise. The supervisor showed up in the afternoon to check on the job. They also put pavers over the steps that leads to the back door. I was super happy with their work. The guys were very professional and the work they did was transformational. Now, two years later, I continue to be extremely happy with the job they did. Initially, I really wasn't all that excited about spending that kind of money on a 170 sq. ft of space, but now I see it as money well spent. They took what was an eyesore and made it into a wonderful place where my friends and family can gather. I know mine was a small job for them, but they treat it with the same professionalism as their big jobs. I have seen some of the other work that they have done, and it is just beautiful. I will use them again for any upcoming hardscape projects.

It didn't work out very well. She had asked me what my budget was. I told her it was $3000 to $5000 for my backyard. She drew up these plans for a deck and the deck was to cover pretty much the whole backyard and she gave me the plans. I asked her how much it would cost and she said $10000. That was pretty useless for me because I had told her I was nowhere near that budget. I kept the plan but I wasn't very satisfied. What I wanted was someone that would come out and give me something that I could reasonably do. There were no more charges beyond the big deal amount. She wasn't responsive because she didn't listen to me.

It went very well, I was very pleased with their work and they were very professional and timely. I have no complaints; I am very happy with them. They did everything well from what I could tell. I am not a mason so I am assuming what they did was good just by what I can see and from the fact that they pulled out the permits and made all the necessary arrangements with the inspectors and things of that nature. So it was pretty much hands free for me, they did all the necessary footwork and they took care of all of what needed to be done. It wasn’t a huge job but it was big enough that required some expertise. I had seen their work before in showcase house and I assumed that if they used them, they have to be good and I know that everyone they use are pretty topnotch, so on that basis I decided to go with them, also because they had been given some awards on Angie’s List. The price was a little high but you get what you pay for. They had different teams doing different things, they had someone that was laying the brick, while some else did the cement and they always had a supervisor on site if not full time, at least for part of the day, making sure that everything was done right. They cleaned up after themselves, so that was good. I have no complaints.
Description of Work: I used Pacific Pavingstone for masonry work.
They were very good. The project went very well. We had a design landscaper come in and give us a plan. Our budget was too small for what we wanted to do so they gave us other places to go to for finishing the job. The gentlemen who came to do the work were good. They were easy to talk to. The billing was easy. There were no surprises. My husband didn't have any complaints. We will probably give them a call if we have a bigger driveway job.

This is the fourth job that Pacific Outdoor Living has done for us. They put in a pond, pavers, and artificial turf on previous jobs. Once again they did an amazing job and the steps look like they should have always been there. Neighbors and complete strangers who walk on our street have stopped us and told us how wonderful it looks. (I will update this with the price of the cost of the steps at a later time)
Description of Work: I used a Pacific Pavingstone big deal purchase. This purchase was for a front yard landscape design. They did a design which incorporated the addition of some steps up into the yard. We decided to do the project in two phases. The first phase was to put in the steps and then do the plantings at a later time. The big deal was for them to come out and draw up the design and since we were going ahead with the job the amount of this coupon got reimbursed.

Removed old driveway of asphalt with bob cat crew. Hit main water in pipe but not their fault because previous owner obviously had galvanized pipe replaced with copper but only just under asphalt driveway. Should have been trenched deeper. The first crew removed all very professionally. The 2nd crew laid down the pavers on a well prepared surface. I had them put a special cloth on the pounded down earth first that lets water through but not sand. I think it also helps prevent weeds from growing between the pavers. I think it is called a geothermal cloth. All the work was done extremely professionally and the driveway gives me great pleasure every time I look at it. It has been a few years now and all is well. I sincerely believe it is the best done and best looking driveway in Sherman Oaks.

He was a very nice man. He was pretty quick in getting it back to me. I was very appreciative of that. He was here on time. I would consider using him in the future.
Description of Work: Pacific Pavingstone gave me an estimate on doing my driveway.
Their price was right in the middle of the road, I think a little bit on the less expensive side. They had a good selection and it was nice that they had a brick and mortar store where we could actually compare the different types of pavers and the colors. They were the only ones who offered warranty on the pavers as long as I stay in the house. The work they did was great and it was fast. We had a difficult access to my property which meant that they were hand-trucking the concrete with a dolly, rather than going in with a skip-loader and picking it all up. They had it all demolished in couple of days and the whole process took about one week and it looks great.

I thought the price was really good. They were very prompt and I really liked the way my yard turned out. They kind of didn't remember that they were supposed to come back and remove a bunch of things. That was the only thing that was a little bit disappointing. Otherwise, I was very happy with the outcome.
Description of Work: I used the services of Pacific Pavingstone. They actually did a larger area of paving. They removed all of the concrete patio and they replaced all of it with pavers and they extended my patio. They also removed a couple of trees and some shrubbery and they put down some sods for me in the yard.
