Really happy with the price, the results and the service. Their price was several hundred dollars less than the next lowest quote, yet I still received top quality service.
Description of Work: Replaced section of broken main line, did trenchless repair of remaining 50 feet of main line, cleared drains on back patio.

It went very smoothly, they were professional, showed up on time, and worked diligently. I am happy that I will not ever have to worry about my pipes breaking on my property or in the street again. I would definitely hire them again in the future.
Description of Work: I recently purchased an old house. While New Pipe was installing a new sewer line from my house to the city connection, they noticed the old pipe was not properly connected. Instead of charging me more, they worked with the city to have them come in and do work to the pipe in order to minimize the cost to me.

James W. provides outstanding service. He fixed the back area of the toilet and showed me how to clean out the valve. They were quick. They arrived when they said they would and they were clean. I would highly recommend him.

Overall, I am disappointed and frustrated with my experience with the technician from New Pipe. I had a broken water heater and I had no idea what was wrong with it. I called to make an appointment at 9:15 am on Monday morning and although the dispatcher was able to send the tech to my house within two hours, he was dishonest. He did not inspect the water heater, did not investigate to see if it was under warranty (it was), and immediately asked if I had considered installing a new tankless system. Without even touching the water heater, he noted all of the external repairs needed to bring the water heater up to code, said it couldn't be fixed, and that I would need to replace the entire system. I requested that he write me an estimate for the necessary repairs and one for a new tankless system. Referring to a handbook for the quotes, he wrote up $2,300 for a conventional water heater and over $6,000 for the tankless. Needless to say, I sent him on his way and called another plumber who worked hard to investigate the problem and fixed my water heater for $150.

This went basically as I expected from reading reviews of just about every sewer company. Once they find that the sewer is blocked and start to dig it up, there's virtually no power at the homeowner's end to negotiate and the price goes up every other day. This whole process took about 10 days for me. I knew the sewer situation was dire after having an initial inspection during escrow. One sewer contractor quoted $8k to replace the section under the sidewalk, then another $12k if the section under the street needed replacement as well. This contractor was unavailable when it came time to do the work, so I searched Angie's List and decided to go with New Pipe. New Pipe's guys dug up the section under my property just before the sidewalk, determined they needed to dig under the sidewalk, came back a few days later to remove the sidewalk and dig down... At this point the quote I was getting was $7k to replace that section then $3k to line the rest under the street if that section was otherwise intact. The guys started to only show up every other day because they were working on another project at the same time. At some point, on a day when no other work was performed, a supervisor with New Pipe came out to inform me that if they had to replace the section under the street it was going to run $25 to $35k. It was unclear to me why this alarming information was suddenly news on a day when no new "discoveries" had been made regarding the condition of the sewer and previous estimates for that worst case scenario were substantially lower. Two days later, after finally finishing digging under the sidewalk area and removing that section of clay pipe, they found that the section under the street was clear - yay! That'll be $14k. Wait.. I thought it was going to be around $10k... I asked why we were coming in $4k higher than I'd expected and was told that estimate was just literally to dig under the sidewalk - not the 8' of dirt between the sidewalk and the curb. In casual conversation we had certainly been referring to the entire section of city property between my property and the curb but when I checked the wording on the estimate I'd signed, it indeed specified the section under the sidewalk. There was never a work order or estimate for digging up the dirt section. So, I guess it costs $4,000 to dig a hole 8' x 3', 6' deep. A few more days and the liner guys came and added the liner to the section under the street, they tied it all back together, filled in the dirt hole, and did an uninspired job of pouring new concrete for the section of sidewalk they removed (there's a 1/2" x 3' divet.) So, I have a functional sewer now, I know that the blockage was severe and needed to be dealt with, I know that I wasn't upsold on the worst-case scenario, but... it came in higher than I expected and I feel that I was mislead when it came to pricing and the work being performed. Also, when it came time to final billing, they just magically tacked on another $800 to bring the grand total to $14,800. I said "the last quote you gave me was $14k even." The response I got was "Oh, ok, we'll keep it at $14." Make of that what you will.
Description of Work: Replaced about 10' of clay sewer pipe under city sidewalk with ABS after discovering complete blockage by roots and soil. Added pipe liner remaining clay pipe under city street - about 20' to the city main.

They dug a hole at both ends of the existing pipe, and pulled a seamless rubber pipe through the old pipe. It was completed within a single day. I am completely happy with the service. I did not get competitive bids, but other homeowners have told me the $4000 price was fair. The pipe was 35 feet long, and at the street end was a bit more than 4 feet deep.

Everyone's worst nightmare - waking up to a broken, flooded toilet that had leaked through our floor to the 1st floor below... I called Phill at 7AM and he picked up and had a guy there within an hour. They found a new toilet, went and picked it up and installed it by midday, inspecting the ceiling along the way. The guy was clean and thorough, which was awesome after you read a lot of other horror stories with other providers. The price was also reasonable considering it included the cost of a new toilet, too! Would definitely use them again.

They were very courteous and professional and overall did a great job. The stucco replacment on the outside wall was not the best but I put a lot of emphasis on prompt, courteous, and affordable service and they delivered that.
Description of Work: I had a sewer drain leak in the wall behind the sink. They cut out the wall from the outside of the houseand replaced the broken, above ground PVC pipe that was cracked. They pressure hosed the entire line to assure it was free flowing to the street and then restuccoed the outside wall. Additionally they put new shut off valves under the sink and a turn off valve behind the refrigerator in the line that services the ice maker.

They came out and were really professional and wonderful. The biggest shocker for me was that when they did the first part of it, my drain was still clogged. And then I said no, you're not doing anything else until you fixed the drain that I called you about. I had that conversation very directly with the guys. And they did fix it. He was fantastic. They responded very well to any call they had. He pulled out some book that was supposed to be book rate and nobody every pays book rate anywhere. So he has given me a deal on the book rate, but that doesn't really say very much. It was an emergency situation. I didn't have time to mess around; they just had to fix it.

I asked for a complete estimate, which they promised to send subsequently. I didn't hear back from them with the estimate for weeks, so I called and asked it to be sent. Still haven't gotten it. I hired another company to do the work. They told me the sewer line was running a different direction under the floor of the garage than the New Pipe guys, who said that it was crossing underneath the wall of the garage and thus would be complicated to get to. The company I hired dug a hole and the pipe was right where they said it would be. Mistakes can happen, I think these guys are competent, but it wasn't a satisfactory experience.
Description of Work: Did the work as promised, rooted the line as best they could. They toned out where the sewer line was going and gave me an idea of what I would need to do to fix the line.

The bathroom sink was clogged and I used a "big deal" to have New Pipe come and clear it. They were punctual, not that professional because I believe the plummer had his wife come with him and she was on the cell phone the whole time. Kind of weird. A couple months later the same sink is clogged again. I will give them a call again and see if they will do the work. Will let you all know. Otherwise the customer rep was kind on the phone, thats a reason why I rated them a B.

After having a contractor up his price 40% percent in the middle of a plumbing job, I joined Angie's List and called New-Pipe to get an idea of ballpark prices for the job I was already stuck with. The plumber I spoke with was really nice, patient, and explained as much as he could over the phone. The prices sounded reasonable, too. I wish I had known about New-Pipe Plumbing before I got involved in my current situation. Will definitely call them should the need arise.

they came out to give a detailed estimate and responded well to our wishes. On the day of the appointment to install the unit they showed up on time, removed the old tank, fitted in the new tankless into the small cabinet outdoors, did a high quality job connecting new pipes to power and gas, cleaned up the whole place thoroughly, hauled away the heavy old tank. We got all the necessary Information and introduction how to use the new unit. Excellent job!! We had used them before for new piping to one bathroom to improve water pressure and after this last job we recommended them to our neighbors where they installed a new water tank and to a family member who owns a rental property in Silverlake to maintain the tankless water heaters there. All these Jobs were handled professionally and to high praise by the owners. We highly recommend them!

Be Very leary! We had a sewer drain done by this company in 2010. One day the pipe backed up into my utility sink and overflowed. I called out a plumber on Sunday who snaked the drain and informed the drain was not installed correctly and would not pass code.n. We let this company know and they sent someone out to inspect the pipe. That employee said we had vermon under the house. We called an exterminator and they disagreed. This was another 300.00 out of our pocket and NO vernon. Then when they came out to inspect the work they repaired the sagging sewer pipe. I spoke with the owner and said we wanted a credit for the snaking of the drain since it was there bad poor work. aI did not even ask for the out of pocket money for the exterminator. He declined giving us a credit so I let him know we would not be using this company again. We are not out $580.00 for both other outside services. I would not use this company nor do I think it should be on Angies list.
