They did a fantastic job and came in as the lowest bids I got out of three. I would certainly recommend them. They showed up immediately and did the job in one day, no problem. The boss, Manny, did a wonderful job.

They did it all in the timeframe indicated. They were extremely neat and careful about not damaging any sprinkler lines, replacing all the dirt so there was no mess, showing me the damaged clay pipe once it was unearthed, showing me the the new pipe once installed. They were very patient and clear in responding to all my questions. The bid was the lowest of the 3 bids I received and the service was by far the best. While it's only been a week since the installation, it appears to me to be a good quality job. There was a 15 year warranty.
Description of Work: I had a leak coming from a crack in a retaining wall holding up my front lawn. (I am on a hill.) Steve ran camera down sewer, showed me all the places where the original 90-year-old clay pipe was broken and offset. Did a very good job of describing to me which seams were normal and which were breaks. It was hard to tell at first and another company had said that all the seams were breaks. Steve was extremely thorough in explaining the situation and allowing me to take specific notes. He also used his equipment to be able to pinpoint where the sewer went along my lawn and where exactly the worst breaks were, which were causing my leak. They replaced 25 ft of drainpipe with ABS piping including a difficulty section where they had to dig about 10 feet down and make a vertical connection with the clay pipe. They also ran the jetter for the remaining approx 10 feet of the clay pipe before it meets the 4x6 connection to remove all roots.

I was extremely pleased by the professionalism and customer service provided by this company. They were always on time, courteous and professional to deal with. I was especially impressed with the office manager Mary and the technician George. They were always pleasant, responsive, and a pleasure to interact with. The only glitch was that there was some tar left in and around the shower after the initial work was done. But after pointing this out to Mary, the onsite plumber Eddie came out the same day and took care of the follow up cleaning activities. In addition to all this, I paid what I consider a very fair price for these services. And on top of that, I asked for and received a 10% discount for being an Angie's List member, which saved me an additional $280 on top of that. This more than pays for my Angie's List membership. Overall, this was a very positive experience from beginning to end. I am very impressed by New-Pipe Plumbing & Rooter and by Angie's List. Being an apartment owner with re-occurring plumbing problems, I expect that I will continue to use New-Pipe Plumbing & Rooter in the future.
Description of Work: We needed a leaking shower pan repaired in one of our upstairs apartments, and this company took care of everything from demo-ing the shower, hot mopping, removing and repairing the shower floor tile, and patching the ceiling in the downstairs apartment.

They quoted me one price, but then charged another because of additional work for their mistakes. I couldn't go with anyone else because they had already opened up the walls. It was an old building, so they had to do some re-piping in the next apartment. They put the hot in the cold and reversed the things and he said that's the way it was supposed to be. They had these guys out that weren't even plumbers. After the tenant had the walls re-plastered in the bathroom, he wanted to take a bath and filled the tub with the water and when he released the valve to let it drain, it leaked and went down into the lower floor in the dining room and stairwell. They were very personable and very nice but the quality of the people were terrible.

They were very polite on the phone, and gave me an exact time for the appointment (not a 4-hour window like many plumbers do). Very efficient, showed up on time, and was able to do the work on the same day. I would highly recommend them (and I will use them in the future).

I used this company about three years ago, and fortunately had not needed a plumber in all that time. They were very good when I used them before, so today when something came up, I called them again. They were very good again. This afternoon I learned that there was a leak in one of the Culligan Softwater pipes and that if there are any Culligan repair people in Los Angeles, the Company does not recommend them (I went online and although they offer to suggest a repair person, when I put in my zip code I got names of people in other states; Arizona was the closest.) That left me no choice but to call a plumber. I called at about 3:30 p.m. on a Friday afternoon and was told someone would be here within the hour. I said there was really no urgency, but Jack arrived within 20 minutes! He was nice, polite, and helpful. He even explained to the handyman who had just redone the floor of the cupboard how to replace the pipe to the Culligan water softener. Before he did the job he was upfront and told me that the least he could charge was $135.00, but I don't know how to do the repair, it needed to be done, I had just fixed the wood because of the leak and did not need the leak to ruin the wood again, so having him do the repair was the best of all the bad choices I had. Jack apologized profusely for having to charge me $135 for the job, but I did not fault him, and don't fault him. I did not mention until after I'd written the check that I came through Angie's List and he offered, several times, to give me the 10% discount, but I was tired because I've had repair people in the house all day, and told him not to worry about it. At that point he said I should ask for him next time I need work and he'll give me the 10% discount. That was very nice of him, He did the job I needed, and at my request, after he had already checked the job, he even went back to check it again when I expressed concern about it leaking again in the future. The $135 for 2 minutes of work is the reason I gave this company a D for price. I understand about driving here, etc., but they're in North Hollywood and I'm in Studio City and I really do think they should be able to make an exception for a job that, drive time and all, probably took less than 15 minutes. I'm not blaming Jack, it is not his company, but I know the owner reads these reports, and when he reads this one, he will hopefully reassess that policy, either giving his employees discretion in these circumstances, or letting them call (from their truck) to ask if an exception can be made.

They came within one hour of my call on a Sunday morning for no additional charge! Benny Zadikian did a thorough inspection for free and diagnosed the problem. Gave me a free - no obligation estimate. I decided to have him do the work because I was already so impressed. They came the very next day and completed the job.

My elderly mother and I came back to her house after a full day of errands, 6 p.m., to find water all over her kitchen floor, heaving up the subflooring. No time to leave messages and mess with call backs from plumbers. I needed someplace that responded right away. Got through to New Pipe, they dispatched immediately. The plumber was there in 45 minutes, at rush hour. The service was really first rate. He diagnosed the trouble, went out, got the parts, installed them. The prices are set and in a book--and they're pretty steep--he gave me a break on some,, but still it was not cheap, not even moderate. But the service was exemplary. The plumber was smart, clear-spoken, listened well and was a pleasure to deal with. Sometimes you just have to pay the piper.

The man in charge was Randy. They showed me the damage and problems with my pipe using a video snake. They used the trenchless pipe bursting technique which saved me a fortune by not having to dig up lawn and driveway which would have added enormous cost to the job. Everything went smoothly. Two thumbs up!

Otherwise, a good experience with them.
Description of Work: What started as a clogged shower, turned out to be a partially blocked sewer line. Benny was good as he cleared the initial blockage then showed me with a camera the tree roots that where blocking the line near the street. Scheduling was a bit tough as they originally said 2, then 3, then 5, then they wanted to re-schedule to the next day, but I said no. Otherwise, a good experience with them.

Noticed a foul odor in our laundry room/bedroom. Thought it was a sewer problem. New-Pipe sent Benny out. Came on-time and was very nice. He looked over our pipes and noticed small issues but couldn't isolate the smell. After about 30 minutes he found a dead possum under our house. Being a plumbing company they weren't able to remove it. So he suggested we call an exterminator. We tried to pay him for his time, but he said not to worry about it. After the exterminator came and removed the possum we noticed that there was gushing from one of our drain pipes. The exterminator knocked into it and both the vent and the drainage pipes were broken. We called Benny and they came out the day we noticed the problem to diagnose. He said that whoever removed the dead animal knocked into our pipes and broke them. This was on a Saturday and because it was late already they couldn't buy the parts necessary or fix the problem till monday morning. We have only one bathroom so this was an issue, but not a major one and we slogged through it. On Monday, we were told that Benny couldn't come out till 2pm. A bit of an annoyance but we trusted the man and he seemed to know his job well so we accepted the circumstance. At exactly 2pm Benny showed up and stayed till 5pm when the problem was fixed. The work seems to be top notch and Benny is extremely affable and knowledgeable. I'd use them again. The only "B" in the rating is because of the scheduling issues. Otherwise they're great!!!! ----------Update - If the was too good to be true, it was. immediately after the service call I noticed a rather loud sound when the water drained. It was so loud that it was heard throughout the house and scared my child. A screeching, like a mad banshee. I called and Benny came over and admitted that one of the parts they put in did not have 'sufficient airflow' or some such thing. He told me that he would take it up with a 'Master Plumber'. I trusted him. A month passed and no word. I finally called and was told they'd call me back - 2 weeks passed - I called again. Finally they sent over the 'Master'. He came over and proceeded to try and convince me that my old pipes were the cause of the problem and kept pointing to a piece of hardware about which I knew nothing. When I explained to him that the sound occurred immediately after Benny did the work, he said resolutely "It Is YOUR OLD PIPES". Finally I got him to look under the house and guess what? The pipes he was blaming weren't even connected. Finally he admitted that the problem was caused by their work, however, he was still defensive "Maybe you just had bad suction before and never noticed." This was complete BS - I stuck to my complaint that before my pipes were "Fixed" there was no loud sound when the water drained. Now there was. Finally he said "ok, I'll go back and talk to Benny to see what he did and we'll come back"...This was 3 months ago, since then I've called and still no one's getting back to me. Regrettably I will change my review from a positive one to a negative one.

the whole thing went well - they were very hard workers and charged a very reasonable price.
Description of Work: i had new pipe plumbing out to fix my old tankless water heater. they gave me the best quote and i trusted the plumber, Gregg. i felt he was very honest and fair with the pricing. all communication was very professional and they were very "human" if that makes sense. they just spoke directly and fixed it as soon as possible since they knew i was without hot water. Gregg gave me a few options instead of just charging me an arm and a leg for a new one. i will use them again for all of my plumbing.

Believe the reviews. These guys are real pros. They explained everything clearly and tried to solve the problem in the most economical way, but it turned out my lines were unsalvageable. They did a large job but they were very methodical, very professional, and very easy to work with. I am very very happy with their work and I will hire them in the future. It is obviously not fun to have someone show you that the sewer lines for your two 85 year old houses are completely shot, but the professionalism and competence of Harry, the New-Pipe supervisor I worked with, took the sting out of it a little bit. His crew was also hard working and easy to have around.
Description of Work: New-Pipe replaced two sewer lines from the connections at the (adjoining) houses all the way to the connection with the city sewer system. They replaced several hundred feet of pipe, opened up the street, excavated in the street and replaced two connections to the city sewer system. The city main was also damaged so they had the city come and repair the main while the street was open.

They responded very, very quickly late on a Saturday and were able to fix it in a few minutes. This is the third time we have used them and will absolutely use them again. I continue to be impressed by the pricing, quality of workmanship and the outstanding customer service!!

Their technician was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He did not try to "up sell" the services, in fact, was conscious of finding the most cost effective solution for the client. This is a company with a long term, repeat business ethic - a refreshing surprise. He was clear and helpful in describing everything we saw on camera, and the possibilities surrounding repairs, what did and did not need to be done. As a Realtor, I'm very happy to have found this company. I will be recommending this inspection, and this company on every sale.
Description of Work: We had them do a camera inspection of the sewer pipes for my client's new home in escrow. It would have been $250 for the inspection including video taping, but opted for the $95 inspection only as the client was able to be there and watch the camera on screen.

New Pipe discussed bid on 4/2. Bid approved on 4/2 with promised start at 0800 on 4/4. Crew started on 4/4 at 0800 and finished on 4/6, in spite of additional municipal permits needed. Process required two ten foot deep holes and large hydraulic-powered "puller". Excellent work by excellent company.
Description of Work: Needed to replace sewer line installed over seventy years ago. Concerns about slope and depth of line and about effect on oak trees. Relining not allowed per municipal code. Bids for trenched and trenchless replacement. Video scans performed. New Pipe used water flush and scan. New Pipe bid for trenchless was 1/4 that of trenched bid. New Pipe explained technique in detail. New sewer line installed in two days.

We purchased a 70-year-old house about a year ago, and were not able to get any kind of history about the house when we bought it. Through various sources we found that the house was maintained and updated in some respects, not in others. The master bathroom shower clogged a couple of months ago, and we had a local plumber come out to snake it. Two months later it clogged again. The same plumber came out, did the camera-down-the-drain thing and said the pipe was very old and would continue to have problems. He gave a couple of options, but we decided to go with the most permanent option and replace the pipe. Then we called New Pipe for a second estimate. Everything went as well as you could hope for. They were easy to contact, Jack came out to meet us when he said he would, gave us an estimate about $400 less than the local plumber and offered an Angie's List discount on top of that. He came out for the repair right on time, completed the job in less time than expected because he was able to bring a helper. He offered to check a couple of other pipes we had concerns about, which we truly appreciated. Did he tell us all the items that would come up in the future that we should contact him about? No. He said the rest of our plumbing was in good shape and we should have no further problems.

New-Pipe Plumbing solved the problem with professionalism and fairness. I would recommend New-Pipe Plumbing to anyone. They are a family run business with high standards of service.
Description of Work: I had engaged the services of a different plumbing company the week before. They came to my condo to fix a my tub spout because the diverter that switches the water from the tub spout to the shower head was broken. After paying for a new spout and having it installed, the diverter worked fine but the water coming out of the tub spout was squirting all over the place. 2 more spouts later, I still had water squirting everywhere. Then I called New-Pipe because they had a high rating on Angie's List. The technician came on time, assessed the situation, knew exactly what needed to be done, replaced the spout and made it work perfectly.

George and Benny first came during escrow and they tested my water to see if it was hard (it was), examined my plumbing, and ran a video cable to see condition of my main sewage line. They were very professional and obviously knew what they were talking about. I used their estimate to reduce the cost of the house and George was instrumental in assisting me with this. Once the work started, they finished pretty close to their original estimate (they worked with City inspectors which often causes delays). Throughout the process, they were friendly and always willing to explain what they were doing. The owner of the company even came out (Stephen) and assisted with the tank-less water heater installation (he didn't even tell me he was the owner). Everything well smoothly with no issues. It's been a months now and everything is working smoothly. One of the workers, Benny, offered to come by in the future to make sure that there were no leaks under my house - free-of-charge. Wow. Later on, I thought I had a gas leak issue from a gas line they installed so I called them. Benny came over in a few hours and the problem ended up being one of the connectors (it needed a gas line coating) of my gas dryer. Essentially, user error. Benny quickly fixed it and didn't even charge me - which surprised me. All-in-all, I would unhesitatingly recommend New-Pipe. They are a refreshing alternative to rude plumbers. NOTE: They are NOT the cheapest guy in town so if all you want is the cheapest price, you may want to go elsewhere. Of course, you do get what you pay for. Some of my friends have horror stories of cheap plumbers doing bad plumbing work which cost extra time and money to fix. My wife and I decided that we didn't want to gamble with our sewage line and so after looking around at other quotes, New-Pipe was competitive with other large plumbers; we chose New-Pipe for peace-of-mind. Again, George, Benny, and Stephen were really really nice and I highly recommend them and New-Pipe Plumbing.
Description of Work: We purchased a house that had some sewage and plumbing issues. I contacted New-Pipe for a consultation/estimate and they gave me a realistic idea of what the problem was (major sewage line blockage plus plumbing leaks). I submitted their estimates to the seller which resulted in a lower house sale price - yay. After escrow closed, I hired them to do the work plus extra work such as a copper re-pipe, tank-less water heater, water softener/anti-scaling system, and full house filtration system. The main work was basically installing a new sewage pipe going from my house to the street sewage line which involved breaking the concrete, digging up my front lawn, and a bunch of City Permits.

The technician showed up on time and handed me his card. He put on booties and entered my home and was friendly to our dogs. I had several small jobs for him to do, including figuring out why our central airconditioner condensation drainage tube got pinched off in the back of our sink. He looked at it and said it seemed to be functioning fine. I thought he'd have to rip out the sink and replumb the drainage back there. Whew! He then investigated why our toilet smelled on occasion like sewage, and told me that the toilet was installed before the tiling was done and wasn't installed correctly. I then asked him to readjust our dishwasher to keep it from sliding back and forth. He got longer screws from the truck and fixed the problem. I then asked him to fix the poor hot water pressure in two sink faucets which he did by unscrewing some valves. Then I asked him to look at our jacuzzi and figure out why the drain was leaking with an audible trickle. He unscrewed the drain and tightened it, fixing it. I asked him how I could replace some fittings on the jacuzzi, and he showed me how, telling me to take photos, to buy a longer spout, etc. After about an hour's worth of work, he went to leave and told me he wouldn't charge me for all of this work! He said he didn't really do anything requiring significant labor. I offered to pay him for his time, but he said if I was happy with the service, to leave a note on Angie's List! What an excellent service guy! I don't think I've ever run across a plumber of this caliber. Would definately use again and again!
