LA Hydro-Jet & Rooter Service Inc

I called L.A. Hydro-Jet the previous day to make an appointment, and Leo (Khachikyan) arrived on time as he always does. (He must have provided service to our house for close to a half dozen times by now.) There was a misunderstanding on the part of our housekeeper who told Leo that the toilet was also blocked (that meant a more elaborate and more expensive - perhaps a main line) clearance) - which was quickly completed. When Leo learned that our housekeeper had been mistaken about the toilet, he quickly cleared what was actually causing the problem (between the bathroom sink, the tub and the shower) and only charged us for that. As always, he was polite, cheerful, expedient and effective. I can't recommend L.A. Hydro-Jet highly enough who we've used for years and specifically Leo Khachikyan whose plumbing knowledge, expertise and fairness is so greatly appreciated by us. I wholeheartedly recommend Leo and L.A. Hydro-Jet for consistently doing a great job at a very fair price. /RJJ

They usually come out on the same day that I call. They are always very nice and professional and they never try to pressure me to do other plumbing jobs. They don’t charge too much, either.

They are responsive and good. I have a big yard, so the lines are long. It wasn't an easy job.

It was a good experience. The job took two days. On 18/6/09, a person called Leo came in and the job cost me $225. On 19/6/09, the person who came in was Ernesto and the job cost me $1400. I have some more work to be done. However, I wanted to check how the work they have done so far holds out.

The workers at LA Hydro are excellent. They are very punctual and fast. They explain everything and they are honest. They give me plenty of suggestions and they are very flexible. They do what they guarantee, which I like.

They were not on time the first day so we had to reschedule for a different date after the window of time given expired/ Even the next day, they came pretty late. However, once the guy came he cleaned the bath tub line pretty quickly but the kitchen , washer/dryer line turned out to be hopelessly jammed, we had just not realized it. He could not fix it the first day - came again the next day , this time on time and went under crawl space and found everything that was wrong. Several sections of the pipe were replaced and repaired - all under crawl space. The kitchen sink line also turned out to be another of those almost completely blocked one and needed change of a section of pipe. Did a thorough job.

My wife called the company at 11 am about sludge backup in a shower. They said a plumber would be there within four hours and would call a half hour before arrival. At 4 pm, no call and no arrival. We were then told a plumber would be there within an hour. By seven, with still no arrival, we again called and were told that the plumber had tried to call us but the phone was unanswered. They had the correct number. We were home. And even if we'd missed the call, we have voice mail. But no message was left. Bottom line: we wasted a day, we were given false information and, finally, we were given an excuse that didn't ring true. Of course, we canceled the order.

Very well, no complaints at all. Professional and friendly.

The line was not completely cleared the first time; they cheerfully came out and re-cleaned sewer without charge under their guarantee.

Called around noon. They gave me a window of 2-5pm. Came after 5pm after I called. Small residence 1,200 sq ft. 1 bathroom. When tub drained (slow) the toilet bubbled (!) 80 yr-old house. Was told is was probably tree roots. Could not find a main line clean out. Technician (Angel) cut some tree branches to get access to porch roof to climb onto roof with ladder. Set up electric large router on floor and ran line up to the vent pipe. He advised me to put the dog inside away from the machine. Ran 200 ft + to main connection at back of property. Took about an hour. No damage. Didn't bring anything up. Everything is draining well now. 30 day warranty.

Toilet in my apartment building started backing up whenever anyone in the apartment (3 units) flushed or used their drain. I sat there with a coffee can trying to keep up with the dirty, smelly water coming up through the toilet. Called my plumber and because he does not do drains, recommended LA Hydrojet. It was 8:00pm Saturday night. I called and a nice person answered the phone and told me someone would be out withing the hour. 45 minutes later, Rafael showed up, surveyed the situation, and since there is no outside access to the sewer line, he removed the toilet, brought in this huge rooter and cleaned the sewer line all the way out to the alley. He put the toilet back, cleaned up beautifully and it was all handled in an hour. I would definitely recommend LA HYDROJET anytime, anyplace.

Rental house in N. Hollywood had a complete mainline stoppage at 11 pm on a Saturday night. Called LA Hydro-Jet based on Angie's list recommendations early Sunday morning. They came out within 20 minutes of time promised and called my cell phone about 10 minutes before the original scheduled time to advise that the service man was on his way and would be there within a half an hour. Nice. He was professional, courteous and thorough. Cleaned out the mainline, which has always required at least 130 feet of cable - not a problem for LA Hydro-Jet.

It was very easy to make an appointment that was best for me and they arrived on time and did an outstanding job. They are very professional, clean and do everything that they agree to on the phone. GREAT EXPERIENCE. As a side note, the first week I was in my house I had to have the main clean out cleared and was charged $250 by a local plumber, lesson learned. I will always use these guys.

MaryAnn, the dispatcher for LA Hydrojet, spoke to my husband and recommended Reggie, a supervisor, who has 35 years of experience in the field, to attack our unusual problem. He arrived on time and would not let this problem beat him. He worked tirelessly on trying to retrieve this piece of the pool cleaning hose for 2 hrs.! He would not give in. He strategically and methodically kept at it until he retrieved the quite large end of the hose from the skimmer drain. My husband and I truly believe that had it been anyone else, they would have suggested we jack hammer our cement area and break into the skimmer pipe, which would have been very costly. He was professional and we simply will now only use LA Hydrojet and more specifically, Reggie, for any of our drain issues on our new house... Thank you so much for your tenacity Reggie!!

They had not fixed the problem the first time they where there. The next day the same thing had happened again. They had to come back out and clean the drains again.

They were terrific. The guy took of the door that leads to the back of my home to get to my main line. It took about a half an hour to get the door off to get his equipment through. He was very pleasant. There were roots and sanitary products blocking up the main line. He did have to come back for a second visit to finish up the job. He was quick, pleasant, and professional. He was very reasonable. He went above and beyond to get the job done.

Easy booking. Very personable receptionist. Able to come out same day. Arrived a couple of hours after original estimation but that was OK with my schedule. Plumber was nice and performed work discussed.

They were courteous, prompt, efficient and thorough. Also have a limited warranty on their work.

We contacted our plumber on October 27, 2007, who referred us to this company. The plumber came out in the morning, assessed the situation, and fixed the problem in a timely and competent manner. Unfortunately, he left a muddy footprint on my white bedroom carpet, but I was able to clean it up fairly easily.

After a bad experience with a crooked plumbing service, I decided to subscribe to Angie's list and find some respectable businesses. I found LA hydro jet through Angie's list and called them Monday morning. Serviceman Bob, aka LA-34, showed up before the promised time. The entire operation was silky smooth. I don't think Bob even broke a sweat. I real pro. He after clearing the drain, he asked me to flush the toilet and get the water running to check that everything was okay. He didn't try to sell me unnecessary services nor was he rushing to get out of there. He heard out all of my concerns and addressed them. I wish I found them sooner. Over-the-phone pricing and no surprises. It may sound like I give them too much credit, but if you've ever encountered crooked contractors before, you would understand my elation for finding an honest, quality service.

They were about 3 hours late (they said they got unexpectedly stuck on a job right before mine, which is believable), and they went right to work once they arrived. Clearing roots from a main drain is not rocket science, but they did a great job, they did it quickly, and they charged me $85.00 for the job which was a very competitive price. I will definitely use them again and feel good about recommending them to anyone else who has a problem with tree roots.

A previous plumbing company, who came out before I hired this one, tried ripping me off for over $1,000.

IT WAS VERY INEXPENSIVE FOR WHAT THEY DID. THEY WERE VERY THROUGH.

For the peace of mind (and that the costs are very reasonable), at some properties I have them come out twice a year as preventative maintenance to keep certain "root attracting" lines free and clear. I highly recommend this company to anyone who asks. The dispatchers will also give you a call 30 minutes to 1 hour before they show up if you ask when calling for service. This definitely saves wasting time just sitting waiting.
