LA Hydro-Jet & Rooter Service Inc

L.A. Hydro-Jet was prompt to respond when my sewer line backed up. The office call was friendly and they gave me an estimate as well as an arrival time. They arrived an hour earlier than the time estimate and went to work. Their technician was friendly and soon got it unclogged with the rooter machine. He explained what happened and showed me the culprit; roots. This was a very good overall experience and I would reccommend their services. Thanks again. -Steven P.

We made appointment on phone, but the technician showed up 2 hours later than promised window. He was very apologetic and explained that some time the job takes more time than estimated. We were sympathetic with the view and did not show any displeasure. This probably prompted him to do a great service. Ours was a good example of how jobs could take more time than anticipated. He was expecting to use the drain cleaner snake and be done with all this in 2 hours. He took three that day and had to come the next day to change part of a completely blocked section. Great job to our satisfaction and at a reasonable price.

I remember the guy for sure. He was fast, smart and gave suggestions on how to keep the drain clean. He came in and was on time, didn't waste any time. I did think that the service man was super professional, friendly and efficient. He knew what to do and the 2 people who came before him didn't know what to do. The price was good and I didn't have any problem with them.

As always, and I have used them 3 or 4 times in the last 5 years, I have absolutely full confidence that the job will be handled professionally the very first time. I have never had to call them back. And they always leave their workspace cleaner that they found it.

I had a kitchen drain issue several weeks ago. I called a local plumber from Angies List who cleared the drain. It worked OK, but it appeared to have pushed the clog further down the sewer main. After that cleaning, I started getting backflow into a bathtub. Instead of calling the plumber back that did not finish the job the first time, I called a couple other plumbers. One plumber was willing to come out, but could not give me any indication of the costs. Several reviewers on Angies List has issues with price escalation on this plumber so I passed. I called another Angie's List plumber. Even though I was not in his service area, he spent a lot of time understanding my issue. After that call, I could understand why he was highly rated on Angie's List. Ultimately, he recommended LA Hydro. He was really high on them. He indicated that they were the plumber's plumber. I checked their website and it looked as if they were only commercial. But I called them anyway. I'm glad I did. They were extremely professional. I really liked that they had a price list for their services so the chances of me getting ripped off was minimal. That was comforting. They scheduled at my convenience. The appointment was late in the afternoon and the plumber was 1 hour late. (The plumber that referred me to them indicated that they could run late as they were thorough so I was prepared). When the plumber arrived, he assessed the situation, developed a plan, reviewed it with me, and moved to implementation. He was great. He took care of our home very well. He was relatively quick, but thorough. He ran the snake machine fully to the main sewer. He explained what he was doing and what he had accomplished. He cleaned up after he finished. The cost was very close to the phone estimate (he added a new wax ring for the toilet for a few dollars). I feel very confident that I will not have a drain issue for quite a while.

I could not have been happier with the service. LA Hydro Jet was a referral from Fred Morrow Plumbing. Arrived as promised, performed the work (above and beyond)! and paid exactly what they quoted.

We wanted some preventative maintenance on our main drain and LA Hydro-Jet came out the same day and cleaned out a 150 foot line for $195. I'm very impressed with their customer service and professionalism.

Our toilet was severely clogged and our regular handy man could not fix it. I called Hydrojet at 8:30 in the morning and they said someone would come in two hours. Called back after 3 hours and was told it would be another 60-90 minutes. The technician finally arrived at 12:30. He worked fast and thoroughly and had the problem solved within 45 minutes. They had quoted me a price of $125 over the phone for sewer cleaning to the main line (up to 80ft). They actually charged an additional $100 because the had to climb on the roof to get to the vent. This charge seems to be totally overblown.

We had family arriving at midnight on Friday and water started coming up our showers and toilets. LA Hydro-Jet came out at 10pm on a Friday to drain our main line going all the way to the city line, 180 yards. Kyle arrived on time and got right to work, he didn't leave until all of our questions are answered. The price was very reasonable for a Friday night service, you can look up their regular prices on their website, they are very upfront about their costs. We would definitely recommend this company and use them again.

They put in a lot of hours for the work and they charged me the same.

They have always done a great job. We have used them several times and they have always been professional, timely, and offered a great price.

He did a good job and was more effective than the previous time I had my drains cleaned as they used a bigger router router. They have done a lot of work for me previously. They have been redoing my sewer system. The work that they have done for me has been excellent.

I have used them twice and I liked them. I did not think that they could do it as other rooter companies would not do it because of the insurance on the roof. Their offices were there everywhere. They were one of the few ones that came out that day. They were prompt. They sent one guy and he had to wait for a second guy to show up who came in very quickly.

He is great. Somebody put some cement or grout down the garage sink. They fixed it promptly, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. We were referred to them by another plumbing company, and they were fabulous.

Trap got cleared but it cost more than they quoted and they were argumentative and rude.

They must have been good, because I do not remember anything going poorly. They are reliable, and I am the type of person who would call customer service if something had gone wrong, so they were fine.

Prompt arrival, knowledgeable workers. Solid all around.

The cleanout is buried under a deck, so I pulled a toilet and they routed from there. Fast, clean, and I saved money by pulling/reinstalling the toilet myself.

Came by this company through Fidelity Home Warranty, but Fidelity would not cover clearing the drain through the roof, so I had to pay their standard rate. But crucially, they arrived promptly, investigated the situation thoroughly, and devised the best course of action despite the silly rules of the Warranty's coverage. They were a lot more competent than the previous company I had out who were supposed to do the same job and did not succeed.

(05/20/2010) Fast and efficient. Didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need. Maybe not the cheapest but I felt the price was very reasonable . Very satisfied. UPDATE (05/27/2010) Just a follow up to the earlier report. I continued to have trouble with the drain and called them back out. They were able to figure out the real problem. My bathroom was hooked up to a second septic tank I didn't even know I had. I hadn't been pumped in ages and this was causing the problem. Even though though the problem clearly wasn't their fault there was no additional charge. I had the "secret septic" pumped out and everything is great. First rate professional service under difficult conditions.

My house is a 1916 two story Craftsman. I recently replaced the drains from the 2 upstairs bathrooms. The person who replaced the drains told me I would need to replace the main line because he had found roots in a portion of the main line and the lines he had replaced were cast iron and had split. Based on that, he assumed the main line would also need to be replaced at a cost of about $5000. When one bathroom sink started draining slowly, I decided to have a rooter service come to clear it and also to check the main line from the house to the sewer line for obstructions. The Hydro-Jet employee who came out cleared out the sink drain in 10 minutes. He also recommended that I avoid drain issues in the future by pouring about 1/4 gallon of 99 cent store bleach each month down each problem drain followed by hot water. The employee spent another 35-45 minutes cleaning the main line. He found minimal obstructions and said that if the main line had caved in or had serious breaks in it, there would have been much greater resistance to the hydro-jet. Based on that experience I will postpone the replacement of the line for several years and just have the main line hydro-jetted annually.

They come out, Roto Root for about 20 minutes and pull out a bunch of roots. They are efficient and always clean up afterwards.

I called in the morning and was given a time frame from 1-3 PM, No one had arrived by 3 PM, I called and was told another hour and a half. No call again by 4:30 PM, I called again and was told 15 more minutes. I have used the company many times and will certainly use them again but am very disapointed that I had to leave work and no one ever bothered to call and give me a status update.
