+ -1 moreThey advertise as covering Los Angeles county but when I called they told me I was out of their service area. They went on to tell me they serve Santa Monica and Playa, which, frankly are further away than where I live (they are located in the San Fernando Valley). No services scheduled but perhaps they can restate their service area on their website so I don't waste time calling them.

+ -1 moreThey did a pretty good job. He was thorough, but he made a couple of mistakes. There was a technical part of the job where you don't sweep the chimney. You don't put the cleaner in, it will be more hurtful to put the cleaner in, then to start it up and let the black stuff go out. The smoke go out. I let him start it. Everything was in good conditions, it just hasn't been running in twenty years. When he started, black smoke went around the neighborhood. More like dust. Black dust. It sometimes carries a little bit, and everybody has a pool. It got in their pool. He sold me a sparker rector. It was avid. I had the money to purchase it, and he installed it for a $100. Its a dangerous job, you get on top of the roof, on top of the chimney, and use your power tools. Its harder than average. I got a good grade. A good certificate. It last a few more years. He was right on time. He was responsive. He started it up and the light was in the thing that was connected in the wall. The flames were in the lamp he had in there. A mechanic lamp. I had somebody plus my mom that is a 100 years old. Nothing happened. By the time we got talking to each other, I bought a fire extinguisher. Safety prep. It was a good price by the way. They certified the chimney.

+ 1 moreI called AAA Chimney Sweep & Fire Protection Co. for a second opinion after receiving a repair quote from another chimney company for several thousand dollars (and lots of fear tactics that entire house was a fire risk). I am so glad I did !! Sindee was a pleasure to work with by phone, fit me in as soon as she was able to, and stated that they often get calls for second opinions after people receive outrageous quotes from unscrupulous chimney companies. Chris came out as planned, arrived on time and was ready to assess the fireplaces and chimney. He was delightful to work with, knowledgeable and professional, and said only minor repairs were needed - costing a small fraction of what I had been quoted by the other company. I immediately scheduled him to do the necessary repairs. Must admit, I don't often think about fireplace or chimney maintenance (aside from cleaning out the ashes as needed) - but I have now found my go-to chimney company. Thank you so much, Sindee and Chris, for providing excellent customer service. It was great to work with you!

We tried fixing the damper ourselves before calling AAA Chimney Sweep and went without a fireplace for a long time but we were able to have a beautiful fire on Christmas Eve! We will recommend this company to our neighbors and friends.
Description of Work: Our flue damper would not stay open. AAA Chimney Sweep unstuck the damper and performed a complete inspection, vacuuming out loose ash and soot from the smoke shelf.

+ -1 moreThese guys were great. They showed up on time, ready to go, had floor coverings ready. Very nice, very professional, family run business. They were in and out in about 90 minutes. Cleaned four years of soot and grime and fixed the top of the Chimney where it was loose. Charged me exactly what they said they would. Highly recommended. No drama, very pleasant.

+ -1 moreWe have used this company for 13 years and have recommended them to friends and family. They are professional, trust-worthy, and very competent. We use our fireplace extensively during the year, and being that our house is older, it requires deep cleaning every year. Bill and Chris are friendly and pleasant to deal with, in addition to being very thorough and efficient. The owners of the company are also very nice and easy to do business with. I would highly recommend them for any fireplace or chimney needs you have. Above all, they are honest in any work they recommend and expert in completing the job.
Description of Work: They did the annual chimney inspection and cleaning, second stage de-glazing for heavy build-up, and recharged the fire extinguisher.

+ -1 moreThe contractor arrived fairly punctually with two helpers who cleaned the chimney. Precautions were taken to cover the furniture to avoid soiling. The fireplace was covered during the sweep to avoid any dust entering the room. All soot was vacuumed very professionally. The inspection was done with a camera and the results were explained to me in great detail and very well. A written report with recommendations was sent to me via email. The company is professional and very informative. Impressive service.

Description of Work: I am a REALTOR and when my clients purchase a home with a chimney/fireplace, I recommend that they get it inspected. Through the years, I have seen many different companies for this, and I've seen all kinds of reports and inspectors as well. What I like about AAA CHIMNEY SWEEP & FIRE PROTECTION is that they provide a written quote on the spot and have a very professional way about them. They even lay down sheets from the door to the fireplace so they don't get any dirt in your house. They also have a carbon dioxide detector so that they can see if any carbon dioxide is coming into the house instead of up the flue. I've never seen any other company do this. I typically don't recommend that someone use an inspector that can also do the repairs because it can sometimes be a conflict of interest. But in this case, I've seen quotes from other companies compared to AAA CHIMNEY SWEEP & FIRE PROTECTION and I can tell you that I don't feel it's a conflict at all. Chimney Sweep always comes in at a reasonable price and is usually significantly less that the competition. Whether you're looking for an inspection, a chimney cleaning, minor chimney repair, or fire logs...this company does an excellent job. What's more, I want my clients to be happy, so I do not recommend other companies lightly. I can tell you that my past clients have used Chimney Sweep's services and have raved about their professionalism, cleanliness, punctuality, and price.

+ 1 moreThe technician was polite and professional in appearance and conduct. He inspected and vacuumed the fireplace and chimney damper and flue and climbed the roof to check the exterior as well. He was careful not to break the concrete roof tiles. He also inspected a freestanding gas burning stove. He prepared a written report of the inspection and provided an explanation of what passed the inspection and what repairs needed to be done. He then wrote up an estimate of the cost to repair and resurface the chimney crown. Another appointment was scheduled for a return visit to do this work.
Description of Work: Inspected and cleaned the fireplace and chimney and also inspected a free-standing gas stove. Returned a second time to repair and resurface the chimney crown.
