Jonathan de la Cruz with Vargas handyman service came on August 15th to survey what wanted done . I then hired him to paint the master bedroom, the bathroom, the stairwell and hallway. Along with that I wanted the carpet in those areas removed. The master bedroom and bathroom would receive vinyl flooring and the stairwell would get carpet. I realize now he never gave me a quote for the full job, instead he charged me for each section. The first charge was moving furniture to take out the carpet and disposing of the carpet. They also took apart a shelving unit in one of the closets. They removed the sliding mirror doors in the hallway closets, they removed blinds/shades from the windows. The next section was the painting. In doing the painting he decided that moving a wall organizing unit would be more professional and so his workers took apart the wall unit, but they didn’t label it or draw a schematic to put it back together. I was thankful that they were going to move the furniture before doing the flooring and the painting, so I paid 50% of the 1st part of moving all the stuff and removing the carpet Aug17th. I expected that paying for the moving of things would include putting them back when they finished the full job, thoughbefore they started painting Jonathan wanted the other 50%. I wish I had thought to say when the jobe is finished and everything is back in place They started painting Aug 20th again I paid 50%. They finished painting on the 23rd.I paid the rest of the painting fee. The painting was satisfactory, but not professional standards. People have seen the paint job and commented on it being mediocre. I wouldn’t say anything about it if things had gone differently. Next job to be done was the vinyl flooring for the master bedroom, started on the 24th and finished on the 29th. That was okay, too. Same arrangement financially. During this time carpet was ordered for the hallway and staircase. On the 29th when Jonathan was quoting the fee for installing the carpet. I said I thought the carpet was Included with the flooring He agreed and asked for me to pay for the materials needed to install the carpet, $250. On the 30th I paid through Zelle. Meanwhile, the bedroom was a mess. There was (still is) some blue kind of floor covering put down when they painted. It is covered with sawdust. It was on the floor with scrap wood, (I have removed the wood and metal), from the baseboard removal, I think, and some metal strips. They didn’t put the face plates on the outlets. They didn't pt the sliding mirror doors on the linen closet. When they changed the baseboards they exposed a phone landline cord that is now out, They left a ladder, shop vac, air compressor and hose, broom and large dustpan. They left nails all around on countertops and desk. They didn’t put the towel racks, shelves, and blinds back up. The wall organizer, that they decided to take down, they did not put back together properly. There are pieces of wood from it laying around, sawed up pieces of shelves that got cut up. I have no idea what they did, it makes no sense. The shelving in the closet they did not put back together, but I think it's broken because it fell down while they were working. During the time that the vinyl floor was being put down I found one of my special fabrics I got in Africa being used as a tarp. When I said to one of the workers what is it doing there he told me it was in the garbage. He then went to the garbage and brought me a few of the things that were there. I realized what happened was the things that had been in the cabinet of the wall organizer and in the closet had been thrown away. I do think that was accidental. I think when they were bagging up the carpet nobody was paying attention. When they took apart the organizer they put the clothes that were in it in a black bag just like the carpeting and it all got thrown out together; so now, I am missing some very special fabrics that I can't replace some clothes of my granddaughters that I kept here so when she came to visit she didn't have to worry about packing too much and the same with my sister some clothes that she would wear when she came here so she wouldn't have to pack too much. Jonathan said don't worry he'd get it back. It's not here. On August 30th Jonathan told me they were coming back to move the pieces of furniture and they would be finished. I responded except for the carpet. August 31st he messaged they would be coming around 10:00 AM and he asked if I could send the $250, then he messaged again on August 31st and asked if I would give a review on Angie. I said I would wait till everything was finished. They never showed up. September 3rd he messaged and said they would be coming tomorrow to hang the curtains (blinds). Again they did not show up. September 4th he said they would come later in the day. I responded that there were a few things such as the wall plates towel racks that still needed to be put back up. No one showed up. September 6th I messaged him, that communication is a wonderful thing. I had things I could have done if he had let me know he would not be making it. Sunday September 8th he asked if he could stop by the next day to finish the remaining tasks. I told him I had appointments we could wait till Wednesday or Thursday when the carpet would surely have arrived and then he could truly finish everything. September 9th he responded, yes. September 10th I messaged because I remembered I had an appointment, but I would be home by 12:30 the latest he did not respond September 11th he messaged and asked if the carpet had come. I messaged it was due September 11th or 12th.He responded not a problem I got you. September 12th I messaged before 10:00 AM the carpet had come in. I gave him the pick up times. I didn’t hear from him. September 14th he messaged and said he was sorry he hadn't talked did I have time tomorrow. I've been respounded I am in church till 1:30. I did not hear back from him. September 17th I messaged him and said I haven't heard from him, if you are still up please call me. He returned my call and said he would come Thursday the 19th at 11:30, for sure. Thursday the 17th at 11:40 I called the carpet company to see if he had picked up the carpet and they had not heard from him, so I went about my day and did not hear anything from him until October 9th when he messsged do I still need him to install the carpet? I responded what I need is for you to come clean up the mess and reimburse me the $250 I paid you for the supplies to put the rug in thank you. I have not heard from him since. I have had the carpet installed by the company I bought the carpet from.
