he was late in calling back. We did schedule a time for him to come and make an estimate, but he never showed or called.

Mr. Novotny and his assistants did an excellent job of replacing our roof. They were very knowledgeable, professional, responsive and courteous. We would definitely hire them again.

Good work at a fair price. Dale went out of the way to try to find matching tiles. He was there when he said he was going to be there and did a very professional job with the repairs.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 cracked concrete shake tiles and secured another at a different part of the roof.

I can not say enough great things about Dale and his crew. I am an interior designer and have been gathering roofing bids for 2 yrs. now. I met way too many roofers in L.A. area and got a lot of bids which really varied so much in price from one to another some being 2x's the amount. (10k-20k). Most of the roof bids I gathered were from Angie's Listings/Yelp who had a huge number of good reviews. Yet when I met the roofers especially the bigger companies I just felt a and quot;sales pitchand quot; going on and was worried that when the work would be done I would get a bunch of sub-contractors. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE with Dale at Crescenta Roofing. Had I gone by the only 1 review here on Angie's List I would have missed hiring the best roofer out there in Los Angeles. As an interior designer I've found the BEST contractors are the one's working all the time, solely word of mouth, and Crescenta Valley is one of them. My house is a difficult house with an extremely steep roof, (12/12 pitch). We had so many leaking issues with the old roof and 2 yrs. prior had a bigger roofing company try and fix the leaks temporary until we can get the entire roof done which was a total disaster, they did more harm than good. So It was so important to hire the right roofing company because I didn't want any more problems and I knew I didn't want a big roofing company like I hired previously. I was about to settle on a roofer when I met the owner Dale at a roofing supply company. I had Dale bid my roof and his price was great and in keeping with the other roofer I was about to hire. Having Dale and Family here to roof is like having an uncle and your cousins working for you. Dale started roofing with his Dad and now his son and another family member work with him. They take so much pride in their work. Dale is so easy to work with...every step of the way he was collaborating with me about certain issues specific to my roof that would make it more appealing and completely open to opinions and/or comments. That I can say would not have happened with the bigger roofing companies who send you a foreman and daily crew which might change any given day. As an interior designer I am not an easy customer, I am extremely picky and detailed and constantly checking to make sure all is ok....but with Dale I was assured once I saw his workmanship and the pride he takes in his work, that all would be great. Trust me after meeting so many roofers with glowing reviews on this and other sites, I am so thankful that I just happened to run into Dale that day at the supply store. My neighbors were so impressed with his workmanship and lovely, pleasant personality (they know how picky I am) and as soon as they need a roof, Dale will be called. I would not hire or recommend another roofer to anyone BUT Crescenta Valley Roofing. Three generations of roofers in this company, that says it all in how good they are. I will miss him calling me KID! The Best!

I just thought they were honest, down to earth people. My advice would be to just call them; they were the lowest bidder which also helped. I will use them again in the future.

Dale Novotney, owner of Crescenta Valley Roofing, and his sons did a very professional and high quality job of putting on a new roof. They were very accommodating of our needs and schedule. This was a difficult roofing job due to the age of the three old roofs, one on top of the other. The house was built in 1940. Access to the house was not close to where the trucks could park, making removal of the old roofing material very difficult and time consuming. I did the clean up of the old cedar shingle debris in our attics. We were very happy with the completed job and clean up. There were many extra repairs done that could not have been foreseen in the original price quote. We were not asked for additional money to make the extra repairs! Old world work ethics and honesty like this are rare these days. We are now big fans of Crescenta Valley Roofing.
Description of Work: Removed old asphalt and cedar shingles roof. There were three old roofs installed on top of each other. Outer roof was 30 years old. New plywood sheathing, flashing, solar attic fans, and composite shingles were installed. The roof was a 12/12 steep pitched roof. This was a very difficult demolition and clean up removal due to difficult access to the house from the street.
