Description of Work: They did not communicate well at all. And they still kept calling after we said we were not interested: they have very poor intercommunication - right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

+ 0 moreThe choices outlined in the brochure were clear and simple. The tank I chose cost $879 which was supposed to include removal of the old tank and installation of the new. Home Depot advertises that they can do a same-day installation, but my situation was not an emergency. This was a good thing, because even though I clearly explained on the phone that the old heater was a large, 75-gallon heater, and the installation was upstairs in a closet, the plumbing company initially sent only one man who could not handle the job alone. It was another week before two men arrived together. They accomplished a neat and skillful installation and took away the old heater. However, there were extra charges, totaling $365 for the second story installation, and for bringing the eight-year old plumbing up to code, which would almost always be the necessary, even if the heater was easily accessible in the garage.
Description of Work: I picked up a brochure at my local Home Depot, describing their water heater installation service. The rest of the transaction was handled by phone from home. Home Depot contracts with an independent plumbing company, for the installation. They installed the new heater, brought the existing plumbing up to code and took away the old heater. They took care of the local permits and I received a copy of the permit a month after the installation. The county inspector came after I phoned for an appointment and after a brief inspection, OK'd the installation.
