Unfortunately I have had some unpleasant experiences with contractors in the past, however I can finally say I have found one that I can trust. I needed some new hardwood flooring in my dining room so after doing some research online I found Ocean Flooring and decided I would give them a call. Before finding Ocean Flooring I had called several other companies and received quotes. Ocean Flooring was competitively priced. Their team arrived and got to work right away. I had to run out for a bit so the head technician was friendly enough to send me pictures of the process so I could see how it was going. When I got home later that afternoon they were just finishing up. I inspected the floor meticulously and I couldn?t find any imperfections. Everything was cleaned up, better than before they had started. My floor was a disaster. I am so happy I decided to go with Ocean Flooring to take care of my flooring. Who knows what I would have gotten from another company.

They did a very nice job. The floors look really good.

Good prompt service. Good communication, quote was competitive. We just decided to postpone our work since the refinishing would not remove all scratches, the wood flooring in the house we bought did not have enough thickness to enable complete removal of scratches.

We received a quote for the carpets but never for the hardwoods. We decided to go with someone else

I am very satisfied with the work of Ocean Flooring. I worked directly with Stewart from start to finish of the project. He was very professional, responsive and punctual in all our meetings. He answered all my questions and checked regularly on the crew. The work was started on time and finished on time. Stewart worked beyond the scope of the project by installing a valve that was broken in my bathroom. He made an emergency trip to Home Depot late evening to find the right valve and had it installed personally. I will definitely use this company in the future.

Outcome of job was really beyond expectations. Was done quickly and as described. Work was thorough and workers very pleasant, on time, and professional. Kind of felt a little "bait & switch" because I was sold on doing beyond what was described in the "deal." Makes me expect the same on future deals I may be interested in. However, it was well worth it and very pleased with the beautiful outcome.

They were great but we didn't end up hiring them. They were really professional, on time and very responsive. They came out a couple of times before they gave the quote and then their bid was very reasonable. They're very thorough with their bid. The owner always pickup almost every time when you call them which is really professional.

The refinishing went well. They made needed repairs at a reasonable price and the floors look great.

I was looking for a floor refinishing company and Ocean Flooring turned out to be top notch. I used my coupons to figure out who my contractors were going to be. Stuart did a simply fantastic job refinishing and varethaning my parquet wood floors, and installing new stair treads, and railings. I also asked him to heavily varethane (oil based product) the kitchen / family room floor and an inexpensive floor stick-on tile on cement slab. Each of these projects turned out beautifully. I couldn't have been happier. I liked working with Stuart, as he is organized, responsive, and helpful. Because I was working long distance (live in NY), own rental in San Diego, I had to find talent that I could trust. It turns out that Stuart was restarting his general contractor's business, so I also hired Stuart Edward to remodel a bathroom, replace all interior doors, replace the front door, fix electrical issues, and patch/repair/paint the whole house. My projects went well, the prices Stuart quoted were reasonable, fair, and we easily worked out solutions for new work/repairs that were supplemental. All in all, I was thrilled to be able to work with someone long distance that I could trust with the keys to my house.

Got an estimate quickly, agreed on work date, work completed as scheduled.

They did an excellent job on the floor. I got other bids and they were very reasonable. They were done on time and did all the painting of the baseboards and things like that. The installation was really good. It looks very pretty. They were great to deal with, very professional. They fixed everything that was not right. They were very good about that. They are very good on following up and checking up everything to see how it is and fixing it if it is not. I would say the only thing that I was a little disappointed with was we ordered way too much baseboard and I got all left over. That means, I have to pay extra to have them put in other places.

I had a great experience with Stuart and his crew. Stuart was friendly and worked with us to make sure the floors got done in a quick timeframe (we wanted them done before we moved into a home we had just purchased). Stuart came out to the house and gave me an estimate, which matched the final price. His crew was professional and came on time. Everything was done when and how we expected it would be, and we're happy with the results. There were no problems along the way. I would definitely use them again.

Went great. I called and needed someone available around the holidays - Stuart was on time for the estimate walk-through, explained the process, and gave me a great quote. He sent me a formal quote the next day, we executed, and he and his crews did a beautiful job. Cleaned up well afterwards. Highly recommended.

The floor looks good when they got done with that. All these things were conducted mainly over the phone. I guess I had a misunderstanding of what kind of baseboard they were planning on putting in. When I got down there, they had put in a painted or primed baseboard. They had said that they would put in a baseboard to match the floor, so I was concerned about that. They came back and replaced it. I was happy that they had done that. I bought two deals plus I paid more. I wasn't there, so I don't know if they showed up on time or not.

They did a great job and finished on time. Would definitely recommend using them and will use them again in the future.

The floors are no longer flat. The sanding left rolling grooves on the entire floor. These were unrelated to previous scratches There are new sanding gouges in one corner area of the hall. Lots of dust left on all the window blinds. If they had pulled the blinds up, the dust wouldn't have collected on the flat parts.

Stuart, the owner, came to our home several times to insure that we were clear on what we wanted, helped us in our selections and was timely in his communications throughout the process. He monitored the work as performed by his two employees, who were professional and friendly. The process requires drying time between coats and you essentially must stay out of the affected area. They made is as painless as it could be. Further, when drywallers later damaged the floor, Stuart returned to assess the damage and wrote his analysis in a letter which we provided to the general contractor. Overall = excellent.

It went excellently. Stuart Edward and his skilled craftsmen made our rooms look better than we had dreamed! The estimate was reasonable and fit our budget and Stuart kept to it. We welcomed Stuart's suggestions and they were very helpful as we had never had the house remodeled. We put our trust in him and were not disappointed. We knew early on that we could trust Stuart's company and now we have hired him to extensively remodel our upstairs bathroom. Again the estimate was surprisingly modest and within our budget. We look forward to having his excellent and friendly crew back in our house.

I have been in construction for 36 years and know quality work. Stuart refinished all the hardwood floors in my 1929 Spanish home. He also did a room in my 1915 historic craftsman rental. This company were extremely hardworking, professional and did a fantastic job. I will be using them for all my flooring jobs from now on.

The Ocean Flooring has been working for a week already and their estimate was wonderful too. It was lower than what we expected and their work is superb. They are very responsive and they started quite soon as we contacted them. They have done well by our ideas on the remodel and they have even improved on our ideas. They keep our cost in mind and work accordingly. They are wonderful and I can’t say enough of them. I would definitely use them again in the future.

This was an excellent learning experience for me. This job is the only time I have ever hired a contractor. Since I personally like the contractor, and in the end the job did turn out beautifully, I'm just going list what I have learned so your job will hopefully go easier. Not everything I listed happened, but this job did better prepare me to anticipate what could be potential problems. If your contractor is big enough not to do the work himself, but sends a crew, WATCH THEM! Your contractor might have a A+++++ rating with the BBB and Angie's list, and has no complaints filed against their license, but you don't know anything about the workman who actually do the work. It's a lot easier to correct things as the work as it is being done than after final run through. Watch them until you know their skill level. Personally check the material! At least with retail wood flooring, if a box is opened it isn't returnable, so with the first box make sure the factory didn't send out a bad shipment, such as a box full of primarily short planks or badly finished tile. It does happen!!! If your contractor isn't there to inspect the material, YOU have to! Don't just trust that the crew is experienced in quality control. If you asked for a certain kind of material, such as a moisture protector or sound buffer, make sure you get the quality promised or that the material wasn't forgotten about. Hard to tell what's under the wood/tile after the fact. As soon as possible check everything under good lighting. Are all the nail holes filled in. Is there any missing or bubbled grout. Does the trim match up. Remember, contractors go from your job right to the next one so getting them back has to be scheduled. Unless it's a safety issue they won't drop everything and come running just cus something needs to be done over.

Everything went very well. They where very pleasant, speedy, and the installation looks perfect.

Stuart is a very nice person, very easy to work with. The project went very well, excellent I would say. They did a fantastic job of refinishing the floors; they look better than expected. We are extremely pleased with their work. The workers, three of them, work very hard and very fast, and completed the job earlier than scheduled. They moved some furniture out of the way and they left the place very clean when they finished. We were consulted about the finishing and other issues while the work was completed. We felt the price was very reasonable. We had bought two coupons from the Big Deal offer for 200 sq feet and then contracted him to do the rest of the floors
