D & S Termite and Pest Control

I am extremely please with the D & S TERMITE AND PEST CONTROL crew and their office staff.

I opted for D&S based on price compared to different quotes I received, recommendations by people I know who've used them, and the fact that they won't use subcontractors. They will be providing quarterly service for my home. I just started with them so they've only come out once so far but I have zero complaints. The exterminator was on time and professional, and did a thorough job right away. I was beginning to have an issue with crickets and spiders in the yard and the problem is gone now. With the scheduled service it'll be nice to not have bugs creeping in throughout the year.

Joshua arrived exactly on time at 8am, was very professional and finished the service call with no troubles at all. Two days later the ant problem is gone.

D and S is family owned company, and it does excellent work. Furthermore, the company does its own tenting.

It was pretty good. They were on time and did what they said they were going to do. They were willing to reschedule because of us once or twice and they were pretty cool about it. They weren't cheaper than anybody but they weren't more expensive than anybody. They are all about the same. I would use them again.

They had a high quality of work. The ants have been gone for a year. They were prompt, punctual, and their treatments were effective.

If I could give them an overall B-, I would. Some of my disappointment with their quality of service may have happened with another company, but since I did go with D&S, I can only attribute it to them. But I'll start at the beginning. We knew that we needed more than local treatment when we saw a swarm of termites emerging from our house during a very hot spell. We got several inspections and bids. Fortunately, they couldn't find any obvious damage but the swarm meant there was a very active, long-standing colony. D&S was straight forward about recommending a tenting and I appreciated that. They also gave me a lot of information and gave me the best quote. I waited until the holidays had passed and called to make a date in Feb. They sent everything I needed with thorough instructions. As the date got closer, they answered every question in every e-mail or phone call I made. They even had the inspector return to give me some tips on preparation. On the day of the tenting, they arrived and quickly got to work. They were done on time and the house was completely aired out and ready for us to live in. Here are the buts.......... 1. They need to use dirt from your yard to seal the tarp in places. I thought that they would take the dirt from one spot and then return it to the same spot neatly, BUT they dug up several areas and that was a bit of a mess. 2. I have decorative rock on one side of my house and I had to move it back from the house AND pull back the yard cloth, too. That was a big pain in the neck! 3. AND HERE'S MY REAL GRIPE..... I had notified the office ahead of time that I was concerned about the lattice cover over my patio that is made of aluminum and asked them to be especially careful because it could not bear weight. I had a new roof put on 2 years ago and they managed to not dent or bend it but D&S bent down on two of the slats (one pretty badly) and then pushed it back into place. You sign a waiver saying that they are not responsible for this incidental damage but I was still upset. 4. I also found that one roof tile was torn. (As I said, the roof is 2 years old) So there is my assessment . I should have called D&S with my complaints right away but, to be honest, my husband and I spent the next few days putting the house back together.

They did a fine job. It was the first time we had the house tinted so I have no real base for comparison. They were thorough. They came out and done an inspection first. They went through the procedure with exactly what we had to do with written materials for us to refer to. We had a very positive experience.

D & S is always prompt and responsible, and its prices are reasonable. I have used them for years, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I strongly considered using their service. Their price was among the very best. They showed up on time, and were very knowledgable. They gave me by far the most detailed quote. However, there was just one small accommodation that they were not able to do, that another company would, so I decided not to use them this time. However I would highly recommend their company, and I will consider calling them again in the future.

The inspector arrived within a few minutes of schedule. He did a thorough job of looking for damage. He measured and gave us an estimate that day. He also warned us that SDG&E would require us to remove a bush that was blocking access to the meter. We decided to use D&S and scheduled the tenting for December. They provided all necessary instructions and materials for us to prepare for the tenting. They performed most of the repairs before the tenting and we were satisfied on initial inspection. They made additional repairs to a fence that had been damaged during the tenting--the fence had been weakened by rot, but they accepted responsibility and made repairs that left the fence in much better condition than it had been before they worked on our property. This was not part of the original estimate, but they only charged us for the actual cost of materials, no additional labor. Upon later inspection, we discovered one small area that was not repaired as contracted. They came out and made that repair with no complaint and no charge. I did not give them an A on quality because of these small issues, but they were always very professional and willing to do whatever was necessary to make us happy. I am satisfied with the results and would not hesitate to use them again.

I called D & S. Termite & Pest Control because of rats in the attic & kitchen. Justin arrived promptly and set traps. He returned two or three days later, removed a rat in an attic trap & checked all the other traps. He returned twice a week to check traps, then weekly. Although we did not catch the rat in the kitchen, he advised me as to the measures I could take to avoid rats in the kitchen. I followed his advice & the kitchen rats did not return. Justin is smart, likable, and knows his job thoroughly. The price is quite reasonable, and I would recommend D& S Co. to others & I would use them again for any pest I might have.

They offer wonderful service! They are very reasonable and professional.

Fungus repairs were shoddy, items in field report never made it in report sent to my realtor. They also missed a bunch of items in later inspections that other companies found easily.

They are reliable, come out quickly and do the job.

This company did the pre-purchase tenting as well as multiple follow up calls for dry rot repair and subterranean termites. Every single person I dealt with at the company was spectacular (well, except for the receptionist who wasn't very friendly at times). They responded to every concern I had after the close of escrow with my home and treated multiple areas that had dry rot or continued termite activity for months after I bought the house. They were all great, but Jeremy was especially great with customer service! They are punctual and professional and do great work. I will use them in the future for all my termite control needs.

I had used them before. The workers were great. They were very responsive and I liked the people in the office. The estimator came out and it was kind of no nonsense. He told what they would do and their prices were reasonable. They were recommended to me by another termite company the first time I used them.

I gathered several bids and chose D & S because they are a locally owned business and do not sub contract , and because of their high ratings on Angie's List. I was very pleased with their professionalism. They showed up on time and did a great job. They even saved my prized camellia bushes growing close to the house. I would recommend them, and have recommended them to my friends. They gave me a great price. Several neighbors paid hundreds more with a different company just a few months earlier.

I emailed an inspection request via their website and someone called the next day saying they could have an inspector at my house the next day. The inspector was extremely friendly, professional, thorough (he spent one hour at my house) and patiently answered my millions of questions. And they didn't even charge me for it, whereas other companies I called wanted 50-65$. I will definitely call them for any and all pest control services I have in the future.

They don't do cleanup after rats but they referred me to somebody that really did a good job of cleaning up after the rats. They were very prompt and responsive and I would use them again.

I had a very good response from them. I am planning to call them back for a re-inspection after a swarming that we had. I was very happy with them, the cost was proper and certainly in line with everything we had accessed information, too. They were timely in all of their activity, left things in good condition and I would recommend them. They did a very good job at a great price and that's the definition of a bargain. Once our two year warranty contract expires they already have it in their database to contact me to put an annual service contract on it so I will be renewing with them once this contract expires.

They were perfect and did what they said they were going to do.

I learned that this company is one of just a handful of companies actually still doing termite extermination. Many other pest control companies sub-contract the work. D&S did not kill any exterior plants during the process and we did not get an infestation of ants afterward, which sometimes happen (they eat the dead termites). Overall we were happy with this experience and they also removed some damaged wood and replaced it.

They were good. They did everything that they had promised. We were please with their services, and they took care our roof so that we did not have any roof damage.

I FEEL I WAS MISLED INTO BELIEVING THEY WOULD DO A GOOD JOB. BASED ON THEIR MAN'S REPRESENTATION I SIGNED A WAIVER BELIEVING I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NO MORE THAN 50 TILES MAXIMUM. WITH A SIGNED WAIVER IN THEIR POCKET, THEY RAN ROUGH SHOD OVER MY ROOF THINKING THEY WOULD HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE THEY MIGHT CAUSE. HAD THE LEAD MAN ON THE JOB BEEN A LITTLE MORE HONEST AND INDICATED THE TILE DAMAGE COULD RUN INTO THE "HUNDREDS", I WOULD HAVE NEVER SIGNED A RELEASE. AFTER ALL...THEY ADVERTISE THEIR COMPANY AS "TILE ROOF SPECIALISTS". HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW DIFFERENT?
