Description of Work: They inspected my home for termites and recommended a tented fumigation. I liked this company the best of the 4 I interviewed but did not want to go through the tenting process. We chose another company that used more localized methods so we didn't have to tent.

Description of Work: UGH! Bed bugs form items purchased at 'thrift' store - NEVER shop thrift/used EVER again! They ere referred to me by a trusted real estate agent. They use this company for any home sales transactions. Good enough for me! They gave me a price over the phone (other places did not) and explained the process completely. I felt very confident in the work they provided and not a trace of ANY insects since then! I wasn't on Angie's list at the time so I did not get any 'deals' but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Description of Work: Mike came to the house to inspect for termites. He told me the best thing to do was to tent my house. I told him I did not want to tent it but rather be treated with Termidor in areas that needed to be treated. I sensed that he did not like this idea. I felt he did a so so inspection. I had my house chemicall treated with termidor where he seemed to think it needed to be treated. If I would want them to come back later to check if the treatments were working, it would cost me extra. I had drywood termite damaage in the exterior trim and eaves of my residence. I had D&S do the work as Mike said that's all his guys do...repair drywood and water damage and they were very good What a huge mistake. They did a horrible job...I'm no expert, but the wood they used was very rough and one piece had little nails sticking out of it. My shadow box under my widow was crooked and uneven. The painting and caulking was just plain bad. I had to call them back to redo my shadow box, and it still looks like my neighbor's little boy did the work. I'm still very unhappy with the work and am trying to do little repairs myself. I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone.

+ -1 moreRandy, the customer representative was always patient and willing to explain/answer any questions. The team putting up the tent was careful and respectful, they tried to avoid damage to our outdoor plants. The team that took down the tarps did cause some minor breakage to some succulent plants. After the job was done, we had concerns about the adequacy and extent of the kill. The owner of D&S was very responsive and willing to address our concerns and even sent over one of the staff to verify the termites in the attic were dead.

+ -1 moreI was able to schedule an appointment within a few days. Michael called to say he was running late, and Kelly showed up to do the inspection within my time-frame. He checked outside and the attic. No termites, so all is well.
Description of Work: I am getting ready to paint outside and had a damaged fascia. The handyman thought it was termites. I called up D&S and they came out to perform a free inspection.

+ -1 moreAfter locating multiple termite sites, the company provided an estimate for fumigation. Favorable reviews and a $400 savings over a more well-known company led us to choose D & S. They were flexible when we requested a date change due to orchestrating a family weekend away from the house. They gave thorough instructions and performed the tenting just as documented. We were notified as soon as the house was inspected for fumigant--conveniently very early in the morning--and we returned to find our home in good condition.

+ -1 moreIt was a good experience. D & S was recommended by a real estate agent, who is also a family friend. First time they came out, Randy W. did a thorough inspection for dry wood termites and found none. He gave lots of good advice on minor repairs and maintenance to avoid them. About a month later, I noticed the loose paint in the bathroom and had Randy K. come out. He explained what they could do, very nicely with no pressure. After signing a work order, I noticed more termites behind the wall in the kitchen, and Randy K. came back out and said that the work and estimate would cover that as well. Then Jeremy came out the following week and did the job. He was very nice, explained everything, was open to questions, and seemed to do a thorough job. I later had some more questions, and Randy answered my phone calls quickly and invited me to call with other questions if necessary. They seemed to be a great, small company. I recommend them.
Description of Work: I discovered subterranean termites in one bathroom and kitchen. I noticed loose paint because they were eating the paper under the paint on the drywall. The paint was kind of squishy and loose. They were also behind the walls, of course. D & S injected Termidor pesticide around 1/2 of the perimeter of the house. They drilled into the slab in one bathroom and injected Termidor under the slab.

+ -1 moreBest price out of four quotes, timely on estimate and timely on both jobs. They did not return my first phone call, but were responsive from that point on. Office staff and estimator were all personable. Had problems with getting signature needed from landlord next door, but the tenting crew took care of it on their arrival. No damage to yard or fencing, although cleanup was not quite complete. All in all a good professional job.

WHETHER THEY ARE SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT, PERFORMING AN INSPECTION OR TREATING/TENTING THE HOUSE, EVERY PERSON WE HAVE EVER HAD CONTACT WITH, ON THE PHONE OR IN PERSON, HAS BEEN PLEASANT, DEPENDABLE AND THOROUGH. WHEN D&S BEGAN OFFERING ANT CONTROL ABOUT A YEAR AGO WE ADDED THAT SERVICE AS WELL, AND ARE HAVING THE SAME POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WE HAVE COME TO EXPECT FROM EVERYONE AT D&S.
Description of Work: IT WAS TIME FOR OUR YEARLY TERMITE INSPECTION AND AGAIN D&S PROVIDED EXCELLENT SERVICE. RANDY INSPECTED THE ENTIRE HOUSE, INSIDE AND OUT; CLOSETS, GARAGE, ATTIC AND UNDER THE CRAWL SPACE. HE FOUND A FEW (AND I DO MEAN A FEW) SUSPICIOUS ''DROPPINGS'' IN A HALL CLOSET AND AFTER CLEANING SEVERAL ITEMS OUT HE TRACKED DOWN THE SOURCE. A WOODEN FLAG POLE STORED BACK IN THE CORNER. BECAUSE OF RANDY'S THOROUGHNESS, NOTHING HAD YET SPREAD TO OUR HARDWOOD FLOORS!
