CLOSET DEPOT

Closet Depot installed closets in a condominium that we recently remodeled. For years, I have used that type in both my rental and personal residences and, based on that experience, remain skeptical of a arguments in favor of others. We are delighted with the quality of Closet Depot’s product and craftsmanship. The drawers are full extension and soft closing with dovetail joinery and metal (not plastic) pulls. Its installation reflects Jon Hunt’s years of experience. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Jon was amazing. He got the job done quickly and as promised. He was responsive and even went out of his way to swap out one of the new doors that came with a defect in the glass. I would highly recommend Jon's services.

They didn't charge us because it was their work and they had done a total kitchen remodel last year. Their work is quality. They are very friendly and trustworthy. I trust giving my keys to them.

Jon did a great job installing my master bedroom closet. He cleaned up and was great to work with. I would highly recommend him for my next job.

His service was great. He was trustworthy and walked us through every detail. He did all the work on his own and he was really professional. He cleaned up after himself and was very accomodating. We trusted him with our house key. We used him again to redo master bedroom closet and we felt the same way about that service. This is the 3rd time I have used Closet Depot. They had previously installed some beautiful mirror wardrobe doors for me. I was so pleased with this company that I called them back to design and install two closets in our home. Again, I am extremely pleased with the outcome. The work was simply superb and we were told/shown upfront what our new closet would look like. I am cautious as to who I let into our home. The owner, Jon, handled our job from start to finish. I have recommended them to family and neighbors.

The vanity was built to my needs. I have a small bathroom that needed a custom vanity. I knew just the company to call and sure enough the vanity is perfect. He put it in today and now my bathroom looks great. What amazing service and quality. I could never get the quality from a store bought vanity. I would highly recommend this company.!!!!!

We can't praise him enough. He was a one-man show and performed very well. We had valet rods, a locked storage drawer, a velvet-lined jewelry drawer, 18 and 14 inch shelving, all off the floor, sturdy, well put together. One closet in cherry color, the walk-in white. We have now moved and will contact him again.

Probably because he is a one-man business I had to wait a couple of times for returns calls to coordinate his measure and then get the proposed drawing of his plan. But his install was slightly delayed. I had someone who could be here when he installed otherwise I would have been very unhappy if I had gotten off work only to be told there would be another week delay. His install was efficient and on-time with his revised estimated timeline. I would definitely use him again and will as soon as I can afford the news doors.

I can't believe he is rated so high on Angies List. His punctuality was horrible. The material used is melamine (falls apart when you look at it) and the sides of the built-in's aren't even touching the walls. If I didn't spackle, texture and paint the walls after he ripped out my old closest myself the room would still look like a construction site. Jon and his helper were going to install closets over exposed wall that was ripped apart! I Paid almost 1000.00 for the small built in's and ripped them out a month later and had them re-done by West Coast Cabinetry. They took one look at the material and said that it belongs in the garage. The built in's weren't even touching the walls! Thank you Mario at West Coast Cabinetry for using real wood, being honest, fair, cheaper, and fixing a complete eye soar! I just cannot believe the quality of the crap that was installed in my new home. It is an eye-sore and embarrassing to show our guests. OH well, lesson learned that not everyone on Angies List with a good score is and quot;goodand quot;. The only good thing I can say is that Jon and his helper were kind and courteous as I do have 2 small children.

My wife and I recently moved back to our home in San Diego. The home is older with outdated closets and wire shelves. Although we looked at pre-fabricated closet systems at big box retailers, we opted to go with a custom design in order to maximize the space. Jon from Closet Depot came out and measured the closets. He put together a great design and provided us with detailed plans and a reasonable estimate. Once we opted to move forward, they started the fabrication for all the inserts. Closet Depot does all their own work in-house. When the materials were ready to be installed, we scheduled the work. Jon and a member from his team arrived promptly in the morning and were done by early afternoon. They were professional, courteous, took care not to damage the wood floors, and cleaned up everything upon completion. The result is closets that look great and designs that have maximized our space and organization. I would highly recommend Closet Depot.

Jon from Closet Depot has been great. He gave me a fair price, did the work on time, and was very quick. We liked the work he did so much on my closet, that I immediately had him do another job for my wife on her closet. Hers is about 3X as big as mine and I am very confident it will come out great. As a matter of fact, he is here today starting the construction, right on time as usual.John is the owner and does the work so you know you are getting someone who actually cares about the quality. This is so important with closets cause the big guys usually send out an employee who could care less about anything but punching a time clock.

They were very accommodating. They did excellent work and met all my expectations. They were expensive but they were also the cheapest. I would definitely use them again.

Overall, he was outstanding! I highly recommend him. He is a Christian family man with a strong work ethic.

Jon met with us and listened to what we wanted to accomplish in terms of our closet space -- maximizing efficiency, adding some beauty and providing longer-term, durable storage solutions. He came up with drawings based on our needs and created beautiful and highly functional closets. We have eliminated all of the plastic containers that we previously used to keep organized. We are very happy with the results. Thank you.

PROS: Specialized contractor able to customize well. Classy cedar shelves and well-working drawer panel. Added seating bench of custom design for dressing. Helped with carrying in unrelated truck delivery of heavy items. Careful installation, design shows fine workmanship. Intelligent 1-man shop owner/installer able to converse well with clientele. NOT SO MUCH PRO: Had set aside 2 days for work to be done immobilizing buyer in house. Then another job took precedence and mine could not be started until weeks later. If not retired that could have played havoc witrh my life. Contractor did not point out messy remnants of builder's original closeting: writing marks on walls, shelf and bracing attachment remainders on walls running up to a foot long, which his installation left now revealed. Told buyer that putting in clothes would hide most after customer noticed at end of job. Customer had to call in a painter to cover up, who is taking as long as original installation, at further expense. Work should have been suspended until a painter had come in and painted over all these irregularities, then resumed; it would have been appropriate and the customer would not have pay so much to the painter who has to work around cedar. Closets in the portfolio of samples all show nice shiny unblemished backgrounds behind the wood, which mine surely did not. Needs a painting subcontractor to work with regularly, yes the cost is higher for a fully finished-off closet.

Initially, John did a spectacular job on my closet which was completely custom. He listened to my needs and came up with some great ideas and custom design that were beautiful. The quality was top notch and he was clean and reliable and easy to work with. But, about one year later I used John for my bathroom and it was a completely opposite experience. The plan was to have a vanity cabinet and a wall cabinet for my master bath remodel, and possibly another wall cabinet for my other bathroom remodel. This time John was extremely difficult to get a hold of and the main problem was that it took over 8 wks past when I thought they would be installed, and at that point he opted out of finishing the job. I placed a deposit when my remodel started which was about 3 months prior to when I told him I was ready for the install. At that point he told me a couple weeks for the staining to be completed, which was still an acceptable wait because I had delayed from the original planned install date. He installed the vanity without problem and it looked great. But when it came to the wall cabinet he just couldnt seem to get organized and get it done. After many phone calls and few return calls, all in all, I waited another 6 wks after the vanity was installed and the wall cabinet still wasnt installed. When I expressed my disappointment and gave him an ultimatum to install in the next 7 days, he said was going to walk away from the job at that point. Very disappointing.

John was very professional and accomodating. His design was innovative and the work was reasonably priced. We are very happy with our new closet!

Estimate went well. Friendly. Beautiful cabinetry. Started and said it would take 1 day. Had to paint some places so it took longer. I know he had to wait on some supplies There was a family emergency Then he kind of disappeared. Called once or twice. He never initiated a call to me to say why he wasn't showing up. . When I asked him why it took so long he said he was just real busy. I know life happens and I'm pretty patient. What disappointed me was his lack of communication with me.

I left a message for Jon regarding a relatively small job in a closet. I had an area that had been built for hanging suits that was not being used and I wanted to install shelves/cubbies to better utilize the space. Jon called me back, set up a time to come out and give me an estimate, and I authorized the work. He is very professional, very nice and did a great job. I really appreciated the fact that he was willing to drive up here for what was a relatively small job. His price was very fair and reasonable and he did the work quickly. I would use him again for any project in my home.

On the Sunday of a holiday weekend our closet shelf separated from the wall. We called on Sunday evening and received a prompt return phone call the morning after the holiday. Our closet was measured on Tuesday, plans delivered on Wednesday, tear down on Friday, and installation on Saturday. We could not be happier. We were in frequent phone communication and were pleased with all time lines.

Jon from Closet Depot came by to measure for the doors and a week later they were ready for installation. He came by with one other employee and installed them. They were quick, very friendly and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely hire them again.

Jon came and gave an estimate of the work. He was very friendly and accommodating and seemed to intuitively understand our needs for the space. The install was on-time and the results were fantastic. He did a great job.

Jon came out and gave us an estimate and some ideas for maximizing use of our closets. He then built the units and returned to install them. We are pleased with them.

The work is going very well. It's not completely finished yet but I really like him and I'm sure the work will be great.
