Arrived on time, told me there were three possibilities for the source of the leak, gave me quotes for the different options, and said that he would start with the inexpensive option and if that didn't work we'd progress. The first thing he tried worked, and the price was fair. He reminded me, as he left, that the work was warrantied for 30 days and to call him if there was any subsequent recurrence. Very competent, friendly, professional.

The toilet repair went well, although outrageously expensive; The drip in the kitchen sink -- he charged $125 to do nothing and give wrong advice. He looked in the spout instead of the faucets; he told me the sink couldn't be repaired, that I need to buy a new sink which he would install for $425. In fact, Delta sinks are lifetime guaranteed; they sent me replacement parts free. The parts were for the two faucets, not the spout, which I hope the "repairman" didn't harm during his investigation. I would advise you to steer clear of this firm.

I did not pay. I cancelled the service. They don't have the tools. They said they were overbooked and said they would accommodate me right there and then but they have to leave. They asked me if I have a ladder, I said it's in the truck they have to get it. They have to leave and came back the following day. Again they have to cut the pipe but they didn't have the pipe with the same size as what we have I thought they did the assessment yesterday. Well, we picked up the wrong one. They told me it's an easy job if I can do it myself, I can save a lot of money and I said "No, I'm not a plumber." On the third day when they came I told them I don't want them. I am not comfortable with them and said I have to pay for the permit because they said they got the permit already from San Francisco. It's very upsetting. When I refused to pay the permit, the guy was very argumentative and very threatening. He said he will see to it whether I like it or not; he'll make sure I have to pay the permit which is 260 dollars. I've waited so many days; this is gas we cannot cook, we could not take a shower. I said I am already in contact with another plumber.

He arrived and had no idea what the promotion was for.

The main issue I had was the technician argued with me over accepting the price paid through Angie's List. It was for two hours of work at a set cost and he ended up calling the office because he didn't believe it. Then, since he brought a helper, he said I should only get one hour for two people. It was very annoying to have to argue the cost although it appears the work was done appropriately. I suggested he tell his office he was not willing to take an Angie's List assignment in the future.

guy seemed to know what he was talking about. Solved a simple problem in a relatively short time.

Found that the dispenser was damaged inside. Could not fix. Had to come back the next morning to fix leaking under the sink due to the work on the dispenser. Re routed the water line so that we would still have water to the refrigerator but the join leaked so I had to turn it off at the valve. The rerouting meant that I could not push back the sliding shelf that holds the supplies. Had to remove it to be able to close the cabinet door.

He arrived on time & unplugged the drain - I used a coupon for the work but there was an extra charge because of the type of drain we had.

They were in and out, in and out.. I would never use them again. They were overpriced. Right over the New Year's break, we were without hot water for our entire week while they struggle to get the part. Once they finally got it in, there were still a couple of problems where our faucets were not properly flushed and because they were clogged because we were without water for so long. We still didn't have water after the water heater was turned back on. It was an extremely frustrating experience dealing with the. They kind of just left us high and dry and we have a baby in our household so no hot water and baby is not a good combination. It was very frustrating.

They were a very good experience. They were quick and easy like they said, they were early, they made an appointment for a certain time, they were here an hour early, took a look around, gave me an estimate, gave me time to see if I wanted to compare their prices to something else and I settled to them and it was a good all around experience.

Called the same day as they sent the same plumber out that fixed the toilet last time. Did a great job, quick & accurate. Everything works great now, good for another 100 years!

I received an estimate of 120 or higher. I just needed to know if it was active or non-active and the water capped of. He gave my mother a senior citizens discount and gave us a $25. Originally, $200.Humberto Hernandez came over to my home that Saturday and said he would do the job. When he left my house it must have been in the evening. I had turned on my hot water in the house to see if it was working. My hot water wasn't working. I had water running out, but it was cold. I spoke with another gentleman and Anthony had sent him out. Anthony (Abbsa) had told me a lot of time that water heaters break. He said that they were there in the right amount of time and gave me an estimate of $1200- without labor. I was in shock and said I needed another estimate and mentioned that nothing was wrong with it prior. I was shaken up after this and I went over to home depot and said they would install a water heater for me. Humberto cut the wrong line from the solar panel. They were supposed to take off the water from the solar panel instead of the heater. He cut and sauntered and I feel that was damage. That is not where you tap and cut things off, that is what I was told. Anthony would not talk about damages and I had to talk with them for a week to get my $175 back. I was shocked and scared of the whole thing. I?m not used to people coming into my house like this. I would not like anyone else to go through this. We spent so much on our roof and had to go through this. It was very upsetting and unprofessional. The people that I spoke with were nice. It could of been an accident and I understand that, but it has caused a lot of money for this simple mistake.

Countless mistakes were made in most of the plumbing work done. I was my own general contractor, and I had to be on top of all the work that was done - particularly the plumbing work, where most of the mistakes were made. For example: - the gas line for our fireplace was originally run straight up through our living room floor next to the wall (not in the wall) -- simply ridiculous. - the drain line under our shower was missing a P-trap - when the old asbestos covered ducts were removed, lots of asbestos scraps were left lying in the crawl space that I had to clean up - after the plumbing had been in, we had severe knocking/water hammer (required replacing the pressure regulator) - after the rough plumbing was installed, the plumber left with the water pressure on - we arrived one hour later to find water spraying all over the unfinished bathroom from a pinhole leak in the joint next to the shower valve. I had to immediately shut off all water -- they came back and fixed the solder joint where I pointed out the leak -- (but claimed they could not reproduce the leak). Then, once all of the bathroom/shower was finished - the shower valve dripped when off (likely because the fix to the leak resulted in over-heating and warping the valve) -- they did not take any responsibility and blamed the valve manufacturer (Moen). And since I bought the valve - they claimed no responsibility. (Shower still drips today when in the off position). - the plumber was rude to my wife in front of our inspector - the plumber was clearly over-worked having to do over-time for a commercial job as well -- so our work was rushed, and as a result there were many mistakes that I had to find (they did fix the issues, one-by-one - I give them credit for that - but overall, the work was sloppy). I can understand a few mistakes, but this was simply too many. In our experience, a more appropriate name for this business would be: "In and Out and Back Again." This may have come down to one individual's work -- but unfortunately, it has left a bad impression for the whole company.

Short version: They got the job done, but it took two visits and cost about 2-3 times more than it should have because they initially arrived with the wrong equipment and then recommended an unnecessary, expensive video scan. The extra cost was due to their error and they should have covered at least some of it (if not all) but they refused. Details: Our sewer line backed up between our house and the street, and so I called In and Out to clear it. They arrived with nothing but a hand snake because supposedly other equipment was in the shop. The plumber was able to (temporarily) clear the obstruction with the hand snake. Charge: $250, which also included cleaning the trap in one of our interior sinks. So far so good (although if I'd known they'd come with just a hand snake, I would have done it myself...) Two weeks later, the line backs up again, because the hand snake only punched a small hole in the obstruction rather clear it completely. I called In and Out to come back with the correct equipment. This time they arrived with the proper equipment, including the full sized snake and water jet to clear the roots. Given the previous failure to remove the blockage, they recommended sending the video camera down the pipes to diagnose the problem. Problem = roots from the trees near the sewer line (surprise!). They used the snake + water jet to remove the roots and clear the obstruction. Now everything works. Bill = another $775. Why do they get a C grade? Issue 1: they refused to refund any of the money from their first, failed intervention. If they'd just arrived with the right equipment, we would have removed the roots on day one, sparing us another sewer back up and another expensive visit. They brought the wrong equipment and didn't solve the problem -- there should be at least a partial refund. Even an apology would have been nice. But I didn't get either. instead, we come to Issue 2 Issue 2: when they came back, they recommended an unnecessary (and very expensive) video scan of our system which just turned up the obvious problem of roots from the nearby tree. Total cost was over $1000, for a job where most plumbers would have just gone in with the big snake + jet on day one and knocked out the roots for $250-400. In and Out ultimately fixed the problem, but we had to endure 2 days of sewer back up and paid 2-3x what we should have. On the plus side, they were always very prompt, professional, and friendly in person (aside from issues noted above)

THEY FAILED the inspection 3 times. No, we wouldn't use them again.

Someone came Friday morning for the estimate and they scheduled for the very next day. Another plumber said I needed to replace a drain pipe buried in the cement of the garage but In and Out said the drain was fine. They basically saved me almost a grand. The work was done efficiently and neatly. Although i did get a few punctures in my wall through the other side into the kitchen by a reciprocating saw. I didn't fuss about it since we were painting anyways but it did cost us some time since we had to patch it. They did give us a 10% discount which was nice. The job itself went without a hitch. Definitely would hire them again.

I called at around 9:30 at night expecting to leave a message for a call back in the morning, but someone actually answered and made the appointment. Steve showed up right on time, gave me an acceptable estimate and did the work with a smile (even though he said it was the most difficult one he'd ever had to remove). He was very nice and professional and VERY patient in working with me to explain what I needed for additional work I am getting a bid on. I was also able to use the Angie's list coupon :))))

I rarely feel moved to write a review, but definitely felt the need to write one for In & Out Plumbing for their top notch service! I called in the morning to set up an appointment for an estimate, and they squeezed me into their schedule just a few hours later. My problems were: (1) a leaky pipe under the kitchen sink, (2) a clogged bathroom sink, and (3) extremely loud and abrasive noise of unknown cause emanating from the garbage disposal. Manny showed up on time. He spent just a few minutes inspecting each of the issues I pointed out, and fixed each one in mere seconds. He was friendly and worked quickly. Very competent. To my pleasant surprise, he did not charge me for his time -- talk about building up goodwill! I will not hesitate to call In & Out Plumbing for all of my plumbing issues I have in the future! Called ~4p Saturday. Was told they would be on site between 5-5:30p. Ali showed up 5:15p, gave a quick quote ($145, less the $50 Angie's List coupon), and had the drain snaked & clean within 15 minutes. He cleaned up everything, wrote an invoice, was polite, and took off. Responsive (even on a Saturday), quick, on time, professional, reasonably priced, and did the job.
