We suspected that the evaporator needed replacement and asked All Bay to make sure that its technician would have the appropriate part with him on the first service call. Nevertheless, he appeared without the part and charged us $110 in labor and a $55 "trip charge" for a temporary fix (adding $30 worth of freon). $110 is the hourly rate, and All Bay rounds up all time to the next whole hour, even though the technician spent less than 1/2 hour in our home. Two weeks later, the technician reappeared with the necessary parts and installed them, along with $60 worth of freon. At our request, he waived a second $55 trip charge. But he charged us $440 for about 1-1/2 hours of labor. His explanation was that he did four hours worth of work in much less time, due to his exceptional skill. After we protested the labor charge to All Bay, it reduced the labor charge by one hour. While the refrigerator drawer cools again, we believe that the first service call was entirely unnecessary and that All Bay's method of calculating labor charges is grossly unfair to its customers.
Description of Work: During the first visit, the technician diagnosed a leak in one of our SubZero refrigerator drawers and added freon. During the second visit, he replaced the evaporator and heat exchanger as well as the drier and again added freon.

There was no cost for the work because it was still under warranty. They were very responsive and professional when working on the stove. I would recommend them. They did a good job.
Description of Work: We had them replace the burners on our stove because they were not igniting well.

The charges seemed high. Service person was nice and personable, but didn't offer any solutions to the overall problem. It took a long time to get a service person to come out, scheduling was 10 days in advance. It would have been nice to have a more "emergency-water-leak" service. There are limited service people who are authorized for Subzero.
Description of Work: Service was requested due to a leak from a Subzero refrigerator. The service person disconnected tubing to a leaking ice maker. He was here for about 10 minutes.

All Bay only works on SubZero and Wolfe appliances. They are very polite and very informative. They also return calls promptly. If I buy another SubZero when this one dies, I would certainly call them.
Description of Work: They removed door panels to check for the source of the leak and found that the foam had not deteriorated. They found a slow leak in tubing from the compressor. It was not economically feasible to repair. Since this appliance would require cabinet work if replaced, I asked them to replace the seals and gaskets to see if that would temporarily stop the problem. They did, and the leaks have stopped. I understand that this refrigerator is near the end of its useful life. (23 years)

This company fixes appliances with simple maintenance. I have a sub-zero refrigerator. They are honest about the repair work. I did have the work done July of this year. I was recommended to this company be University Electric.
Description of Work: Vacuumed out compressor coils on refrigerator and freezer.
