Amazing. Stephen's reviews were so good on Angie's list and Yelp that I was expecting good service, but what I got was stellar. He arrived on time, but still called ahead to give me a 15 minute warning. He meticulously lubricated every moving part on the rollers and hinges. And he let me watch while showing me what he was doing so I could do it myself next time and save the $125. The doors no longer lurch but rather move up and down quietly. He asked if I wanted all my built-in openers in my cars programmed (I've been negligent in getting that done myself) and then we teamed up and got all three of our cars and the four hand-held remotes on the same frequency and working great. Stephen tested the garage doors for stopping when they encountered an object. Then we noticed that the slide bar on one of the doors was sagging causing the rubber belt to ride up and over it. Since this might cause excessive wear on the drive belt Stephen looked at ways to keep the bar from sagging. The bar was just below a beam so we couldn't just push it up so he took the bar down, straightened it and reinstalled it. That still didn't work so he used some steel banding to brace the slide bar and it worked perfectly. I was expected to pay more than the $125 quoted because Stephen did two doors, not one, he taught me how to maintain the doors and he fixed the sagging slide bar, but nope he was completely happy with the $125 quoted. He's also a very nice man. It was kind of like having an older brother that's a garage door expert come over and get the garage doors working perfectly. I don't know why anyone near Santa Cruz would call anyone else but Stephen Hall.
