Nate's Tree Service

I would not recommend Nate's Tree service. They were hired by PG&E to cut down and trim some trees in our yard. We were aware that the work was being done, but were surprised by the methods they used to cut the trees down and the mess they left in our yard and neighborhood street for several weeks after the job. Instead of cutting down our large pine trees in sections, they dropped 50' lengths, using two healthy trees to guide them down (which damaged the healthy trees). I called Nate's customer service and they mentioned that they were super busy and had been sub-contacting work due to all the PG&E jobs. They weren't sure who was actually doing the work on our property. They also mentioned that they typically did rush jobs like this because they were busy. When I mentioned the damage and that I wanted their arborist to inspect the damage, the rep said they didn't have an certified arborist in their staff (seriously?) and they would need to call someone from Sacramento (what???). After some convincing, she said she would send someone from their crew out to take a look. Nate Jr. came out later that afternoon and inspected the job, but didn't seem to apologetic. He tried to convince me that the trees they damaged would callous over and should be cut down anyways. I found this recommendation hard to believe because I had an arborist inspect all the trees in our yard the month prior and he said these particular trees were happy and healthy. Nate Jr. did offer to have my septic inspected and send out a certified arborist to look at the damage on their dime. I called Nate's office and left several messages to set up these inspections, and have never heard back. I've had a lot of tree work done at multiple properties I've owned, and never seen such a rushed, botch job like this. It was nice to have the owner come out promptly after I called, however, their overall response was pretty lame and felt like pure lip service.

Nate Junior came over to look at trees on 11/9/15, he left his card and said he would call me back with quote. I did not receive a call from him so I called him back on 11/12/15 and left him a message to return my call. He did not call me back. I called him again on 11/16/15 and asked him to return call to give me an estimate. He did not call me back. My last call to Nate Jr was on 11/20/15 I left a meesage asking him to call me back with a quote. He has not returned my call. Each time I called I got his answering machine. I am very disapointed with Nates tree service and will not call them again. Very poor customer service.

In short, very well.

We needed some major tree trimming to give us more sun exposure for a recent solar panel installation and remove a large branch over our roof. We were worried about the overhead branches coming down and damaging the new panels but it was wasted worry. Jamie the climber is a true professional at his job. A former rock climber in Yosemite he moves around in the trees safely and incredibly efficient. They missed our first scheduled appointment but that was due to emergency storm damage clearing in this area that they helped with. Rescheduled by phone and showed up exactly when they said they would be here. No wasted time and they were cleaned up and gone in under the quoted competition time.

Excellent. Always use them. Completed in a timely manner. Where they did the job, it was a mess. Several trees had to be cut.
