Description of Work: While a sewer replacement is never pretty or cheap, the Gopher-It crew was efficient and professional in our unusually difficult job. We have about 180 feet steeply downhill to the sewer lateral. The crew obtained permits, arranged for inspection, demolished/replaced a big chunk of concrete, pulled the pipe and got us back up and running. Matt diagnosed the issues correctly the first time and gave us a reasonable bid and performed the work within our non-emergency timeline. I would highly recommend Gopher-It Trenchless.

+ -1 moreMatt Melendez was very professional. No pressure at all, in fact he encouraged me to get other bids. He started on time and finished on time. He answered all of my questions. Matt's final bill was the same as his estimate of $7500. I got two other estimates: Benjamin Franklin quoted me $14,000, Mr. Rooter quoted me $12,000. Neither seemed as competent. They both do other types of plumbing, Matt only does the trench-less replacement so has a lot of experience. My local plumber recommended him to me. Important: many municipal water districts have grant programs to encourage people to replace their sewer laterals. In Petaluma I got the last grant of the fiscal year, $2000 back on the replacement! If you are in Petaluma, check with the water district after July 1st, the new fiscal year to see if they are still doing the grants. If you live elsewhere, check with your water district. Matt helped me with all of the paper work.

+ 0 moreThey communicated well with me, came on time, did what they promised, and left the job site neat and clean. I dealt with Matt who was friendly, professional and replied to my emails within 24 hours. The only reason I'm giving them a B on price is because I didn't shop around because I was impressed with them when they did the lateral inspection for me when I was closing on the house earlier this year. So I don't know how competitive their prices are.
Description of Work: These guys installed a new sewer lateral from the old house trap at the kerb to the main sewer with a "wye" connector to the sewer, and put in a backup preventer at the house. And of course they removed the old house trap left over from 1902 or thereabouts. They also got all the permits.
