Charles and his team were recommended to us by several friends. We needed help with coordinating paint colors, flooring, furniture, and possible kitchen updates. We had some visions of what we wanted but kept getting overwhelmed with so many options that are available today. What we got was so much more than what had hoped for. We have so much confidence in Charles's expertise that we are continuously working with him on several other projects, still working on our kitchen, furniture pieces & design, and custom built-ins. He provides invaluable advice, taking time to really understand our likes and dislikes. He gave us an overall design for our entire home yet knew we needed to take steps to complete each area. There was never any pressure and has worked seamlessly with our busy schedule. Charles has a great vision, and an eye for detail, and gave us ideas on not only materials, and furnishing but overall layouts we never would have thought of. His organization and attention to detail are evident in every facet of his projects. Charles is truly a talented designer, and we would highly recommend him.

From the moment we started working with Charles, we knew that he was creative and a had a passion for his craft. He listened attentively to our preferences for our home, and he also took the time to understand our vision for our flooring, kitchen, dining room, downstair powder room, and living room updates. The bar area was a challenge with some of the curved woodwork, but he and the contractors skillfully made it happen. His ability to take our ideas into stunning designs exceeded our expectations. Charles also provided us with a range of options for furniture pieces and decor that fit within our budget. It was refreshing to work with someone who understood the importance of finding pieces that were stylish, high quality and affordable. Charles works with talented and reliable contractors. He coordinated with the contractors making sure that the installation process went smoothly. Their level professionalism made the experience enjoyable, and we will look to them when we start another phase of updating our Del Mar home. CTID was (is!) great to work with -- they are still helping us with some final decorating items. We were new to town so Charles was a great help in introducing us to options, listening to us and translating what we wanted into recommendations. CTID sourced most if not all our materials from wood flooring, tile and countertops for kitchen and baths, kitchen cabinets and appliances, bath fixtures and vanities, and stone for the fireplace. They designed a built-in bed for the main bedroom and found us a wall bed for the guest room, Afghan rugs, living room furniture and cabinetry and outdoor furniture. Nearly all facets of our design and build were shepherded by Charles. We would definitely work with Charles again and it is clear from the various suppliers we met through him that he is highly respected.

Charles orchestrated taking our new home from an empty space (moved in with few furnishings and decor) to a warm and stylish haven. He made sure he understood our aesthetic and budgetary preferences at the outset, and presented options and suggestions to match. And we were free to take his ideas and pursue them in our own way throughout. His easy, unpretentious manner also made it easy to work with him, and he and others on his team were always in communication and made sure everything was to spec. We would definitely recommend Charles!

Discovering Charles Taylor to help us on our journey of transforming our little Spanish bungalow into a both dynamic and calming surround was fortunate indeed. From his superb design eye to his bevy of creative contacts for tile, fixtures, lighting, fabrics…..everything you need to navigate a large project…..(we added a second story), he delivers . He communicated well with our contract/design team as well . He brought light, laughs and relief to a very involved project . Charles designed our home office, living room, and dining room. All came out looking stylish, unique, and high-end. Charles has excellent taste, is a good person and good communicator, and went above and beyond to help us achieve the look we were going for. We had an overall vision but also lots of different ideas, and Charles patiently worked with us to ensure that our vision was achieved. Recommended!
