handyman service
+ -1 moreI never called them back. Oh, and they couldn't find the front door, tried to enter through the laundry porch. Nobody ever did that before.
Description of Work: They responded quickly and told me there would be a $25 service charge. I was astounded and complained that no one else ever charged to come out for an estimate. They tried to justify it, I said never mind, they relented and agreed to a free estimate. They arrived late, didn't really understand what had to be done, and gave me answers that differed greatly from other professionals. I had no confidence in their ability to perform the work.

+ 1 moreThis company appears to be one of the handymen franchises popping up all over. The lady who answered the phone was friendly and said that she had the "perfect" handyman for the job. An appt. for an estimate was scheduled. She mentioned that there would be a $15 charge for the estimate as "people like to kick the tires". The charge would be credited to me if I authorized the work. I was surprised, but agreed as they were local. The handyman arrived on schedule and was very nice. However, he made an unsolicited comment that "doors weren't really his thing" (so much for the "perfect handyman for the job). However, he would do the work for $350 labor and I had to purchase the doors and get them to my site (I know nothing about doors). A competitor who specialized in doors bid the job at $380 INCLUDING the doors. He asked for the agreed upon the $15 estimate fee which I paid. I went with the competitor and they did a great job.
Description of Work: I needed two doors replaced in a workhouse in my back yard. The existing lock sets, hinges and threshhold hardware was to be used. Also, a wooden ramp leading up to the doors needed to be repaired.

+ 2 moreEstimate close to final cost. Work performed quickly and efficiently. Handyman showed up on time for both visits. Labor quoted at $90 per hour which seems a bit pricey for a handyman.
Description of Work: Identify source of water seepage into stairwell closet. Repair closet drywall and replace baseboard. Replace water-damaged carpet pad and tack strips. Reattach carpet. Repair exterior stucco wall to patch holes allowing seepage into house. Repaint damaged stucco.

+ -1 moreThey are great. They have worked with me for a long time and have always done a really good job. They are very responsive and punctual and have a very skilled employee force. They come out quickly and are very good at a number of things.
Description of Work: They perform various jobs and they came and fixed a water heater and fixed some doors on my house.
