Interestingly I suppose, the reviews on Yelp are all over the place. I posted the following review there as well. I'm considering Milgard again, but this review is for a window we installed in 1994. We had a large Milgard window installed in our living room, front of house after the 1994 earthquake. At the beginning of 2021, I called Milgard directly, as our installer from 1994 was no longer in business, to report a problem with the window breaking down and beginning to fog. They we extremely helpful, came out within days to inspect it, and though it took a few weeks lead time (supposedly longer than usual due to Covid), a team arrived, rebuilt the window here and reinstalled it. Since it works better than when purchased and still good as when new!

They were very punctual and did a great job. They are the manufacturers. The windows were installed about 5 or 6 years ago. The guy who came out was very nice, efficient and fast. The quality of work was top notch. My mother in law was very pleased with them. They called her the day before and told her that they would be here between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and the guy showed up at 9 a.m.
Description of Work: Milgard Windows and Doors did some repair work on my mother in law's windows. They did the warranty work on the windows.

I had several Milgard windows installed in 2003.One of the windows developed a broken seal, causing condensation between the double panes . Covered by the warranty, this window was replaced in April, 2012. In July, weatherstripping on the three casement windows was replaced. Each repair/service was done in a timely, professional manner. I was impressded by the quality of the service I received both on site and when speaking with the office staff.

Description of Work: I ordered expensive Milgard Ultra fiberglass windows through a window company. There were problems from the time of delivery. I had to file two complaints with American Express so far, just to get a response about my complaints about the quality of the windows and sliding glass door, and about the poor response of Milgard. There were very noticeable scratches and flaking, which the service technicians came to inspect, and then rather stealthily touched up with a paint pen, while I was talking to one of them, so was distracted, and without even asking me if it was okay with me to use the paint pen. This occurred after they had told me that repairing the surface paint is best done by professional painters who properly prepare the fiberglass and then spray paint with the appropriate matching surface paint. These two guys had the audacity to laugh at me and ask me why I ordered black, when black is always a problem. Milgard advertises in its brochures that the painted frames are manufactured is such a way that the baking on of the paint provides a durable surface that will not chip the way paint on wood will chip. Since I had ordered black frames, the scratches appear as white areas on the otherwise black frames, because all of Milgard's fiberglass frames are white to begin with. There are scratches on several of the windows panes, and defects between the panes of several of the dual-pane windows. I have been unable to get any guarantee in writing that these window panes will be replaced. In fact, I am unwilling to have the windows installed until the defects are fixed to my satisfaction. To make matters worse, I noticed a new, previously undetected defect when I took one of the smaller windows outside in the sun yesterday to inspect it more closely and to take a photo of any defects. There seemed to be a coating of dust on the frame of the window, so I carefully used a soft cloth and plain water to wipe away the dust. Well, once the area dried, the "dust" reappeared. I've consulted an expert painter and several Internet sites to understand what is causing this problem. The best I have been able to find is that it is probably due to fading of the paint--rather premature, I believe. These windows were delivered 6 weeks ago as brand new, top of the line windows, and have been in my garage and enclosed porch, out of the sun and weather. If I'm having this problem this soon, I can only imagine it will get worse. This was the last straw for me. I don't trust Milgard products or service at all at this point. This has been complicated by the window dealer failing to do his part in getting Milgard to provide an excellent product and excellent service to me. Also, the window dealer presented a 3-page letter to American Express which attempted to show how unreasonable I was being, but the letter was 90% fallacious. Dealing with Milgard and the window dealer is continuing to be very stressful and time-consuming. I still have to write a long, complicated letter to American Express explaining why the dealer's letter is fallacious, and showing why my complaints are serious and justified.
