We were really impressed with them. One of the windows in our kitchen that could have been replaced 10 years ago, developed a mist between the panes, like it had a leak or something. I called them up and they came right out and said "No problem", it has a lifetime guarantee. They took the old one out, put a new one in and off they went.
Description of Work: Milgard Vinyl Windows makes the replacement windows. One of the windows went bad and they came out and replaced it for free. They make dual-paned windows.

Their service techs were a joke. They had the audacity to say to me 'Why did you order black? Didn't you know we always have problems with black?' They weren't professional or punctual, I didn't receive an email that was promised to me. I filed 2 disputes with American Express about the situation. It is only under pressure that I'm getting any kind of response from them. And the quality I'm finding out is just terrible. It isn't worth the money at all. They are ultimately responsible for the quality of the product. I have no confidence in their lifetime warranty.
Description of Work: I bought their windows through a contractor.

Very unsatisfactory service and difficult to understand that with this level of service, they remain in business. When they knew in advance that a sliding door isn't sliding and fail to bring replacement rollers or provide service people who can do the job, and I have to take time off from work for such poor service, it is also not comprehensible that the company did not offer to return promptly and provide the required service without an additional service charge. I will find some other company to get the parts from Milgard and do the repair. The service man also said that some of their trucks do have the necessary parts and some do not, he wasn't certain as to why he did not have the necessary parts.
Description of Work: I moved into a house built in 1999. One window was missing the locking mechanism and a sliding door would not slide and was missing its locking mechanism as well. I explained what was needed, the year of construction and the style according to their website. The technician comes out, inspects the door and proclaims that I need new rollers on the bottom as we expected. He goes on to inform me that he does not have any rollers with him and did not know that the locking components needed were for an older model, even though, as I pointed out to him, it indicated the year of the products on his paperwork. He did not have the correct mechanism for the window, installed it anyhow and told me it would probably not last. The mechanism did not work with the wrong hardware and he left it as he found it. When I called the company to complain, they told me that he was only coming out to inspect the house and would not have the equipment needed to fix anything (this is not what the installer said). I have had experience with Anderson windows and the people who came out to my old home were prepared to repair whatever they needed to.

Member, We are extremely sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with our service interaction. We only wish we had been made aware of your disappointment earlier. It is clear that we did a poor job of explaining the intent of our initial visit. Given that we had not provided service to the either of the two previous owners of your residence, we did not have records of what was installed there. We attempted to use the data provided, but that data was not sufficient to allow us to come to your residence sufficiently prepared. Not making that clear to you before we had you take time off work is our fault. At the time of this service visit, the windows and doors at your residence were over 10 years old, and we had stopped the manufacturing of that style of windows and doors many years prior. We do keep spare parts on hand for these products, however we do not stock every service truck with every component we have ever used. Further, given the size of the sliding door in question, our safety policy requires that we have two technicians on site to remove the sliding panel in order for new rollers to be installed on the door. This was not something we were prepared to do on the initial preview visit as we did not know the size of the door. Our records indicate that we attempted to contact you on June 3rd and June 4th to schedule a return visit to your house to complete the work requested; unfortunately, we did not hear back from you. At this point, we would like to offer you a complete refund of the $125 deposit you paid us. It was (and is) our practice to subtract that deposit from the cost of the parts and the return visit. In other words, your remaining balance in this case would have been minimal. Please contact the General Manager and/or Customer Service Manager at our Milgard – Simi Valley location, and they will process that refund for you. Please also accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience and disruption we caused you.

After they were installed, I noticed that one of the windows had a small scratch in it that was barely noticeable. However, I called Milgard and they sent a technician back to look at the windows. He noticed the flaw and noticed that the other window was a little wavy as well. Milgard removed and replaced them both for no additional charge. Milgard definitely stands behind their product and work.
Description of Work: The technician for Milgard added about five feet to my breakfast room with 2 plate glass windows that are 15 feet wide from floor to ceiling.

I'M VERY SATISFIED WITH IT. OUR ELECTRICITY BILL HAS GONE DOWN ALONG WITH OUR HEATING. THE WORKERS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS. I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THEM.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE PROMPTNESS OF THE DELIVERY OF WINDOWS. THE INSTALLER ARRIVED ON TIME AND COMPLETED THE JOB NEATLY AND QUICKLY. HE TRIMMED THE MOLDING VERY NEATLY AND MADE ALL FINISHING TOUCHES.
Description of Work: OLD WINDOWS REMOVED, PREPPING FOR NEW WINDOWS, AND NEW WINDOWS INSTALLED. TRIM WORK, EXAMPLE MOLDING.
