FLOORING 101

I absolutely cannot urge people strongly enough to stay away from this company. If I could rate them lower than one star I would. On the day of the installation they were approximately 8 hours late. They were scheduled to arrive at my house between 8am and 9pm and didn’t get to my house and start installing until nearly 4pm. Previous to having the carpet installed we installed new baseboards, painted one of the rooms, re-did the door casings and painted the doors. The installers worked hastily because the day was almost over, they were extremely careless with our furniture, placing items on top of each other, and placing items upside down. In the process of which furniture was struck against the door casings damaging the door casings and the furniture. There was paint transfer and damage done to our furniture as well. There were other places where chunks of wood were taken out of the baseboards and drywall in our freshly painted room. The install wasn’t even done correctly, the transition between out hardwood floor in the hallway and the carpet was done differently on each room, which are directly across from each other! When this was pointed out to the installers they told me someone from flooring 101 would contact me. When no one contacted me I called them twice and was told someone would call me back, no one did. The next week I was called by someone wanting to collect the remaining balance of what was owed for the closet, I again explained the situation to her and told her I would not pay until these issues were addressed, I was again told that someone from Flooring 101 would be reaching out to me, no one did. Flash forward a month I get a letter saying I have a balance due and that it would be being sent to collections if it wasn’t paid. I called again explaining the situation and was told someone would call me back the next day. No one did, the following day I called back again and was told there was no one that could help me. Someone finally called me back the following day just to tell me they couldn’t help. Then since they didn’t have a record of my previous phone conversation (ignore the fact that they DO have a record of all the other ones) and that I didn’t remember the name of the person I talked to they weren't sure if I had actually called. Then I was told that someone again, would call me back the next day becuase there were no managers, owners or anyone else that could help me, and you guessed it, someone would be calling me back the next day. This has been going on for OVER A MONTH. Im at my wits end with this, I’m amazing a company can stay in business like this.

They did not start when promised and did not order enough tile and consequently the installation required disruption for over a week (it was promised to be done in three days). We lost the use of our washer and dryer for that week which was a major problem for us.

We are so very pleased with everything they did for us. From Sales to installation, they totally delivered what they promised. the wood and tile installers lead by Tony were excellent. It was seven of them and did the whole flooring + the re-tiling of a fireplace in 4 days with minimum inconvenience for us. The tile company sent us the wrong tile and Ian, the manager, drove all the way to Anaheim, got the tiles and hand delivered them. The carpet installers, however, were not on par with the rest of the crew and left us a bit of a mess after finishing the jov.

We were helped by Ross. He provided excellent information, including flooring options, approaches for installation, pricing, and installation scheduling. The installation team showed up on time and completed the job efficiently and professionally, single day with a minimum of disruption.

They're a local company. Their pricing was good. For the installation, I would probably give them a B because there are some very small gaps between the wood planks. The guys from Simi do a lot better with their customer service compared with another branch. I think they are more willing to help you find what you need. They are more approachable.

They started the work a day late but finished a day early. The materials and workmanship were quality. I have antique show cases some of which are very fragile. They moved them out and back with great care. The workmen were courteous and professional. They had obvious pride in the work they did and it showed in the finished results. I highly recommend them and will use the again when I replace some carpeting.

Flooring 101 was a really good company to work with. The kind of work with you and try to help you out. I'd definitely use them again and I'd recommend them. I guess they're reasonbaly priced compare to everybody else.
