Finest Fence responded to our inquiry within a day, and completed the work within two days after that. They were fast, they were professional - the owner oversaw much of the installation himself. We're totally satisfied.

Mark, from Finest Fence, is incredibly professional, attentive, and...patient! We did not approach Finest Fence with an easy, run-of-the-mill fence request. The fence required permits and inspections by the city of Santa Monica and Marc had to deal with and manage an unstable neighbor. He visited the site 4 times prior to finalizing the design and providing an estimate. His workers then quickly and beautifully installed the fence per plan at the agreed upon price and time. Marc went the extra mile for us and followed through on his word.

Mark and his team were among the best contractors I've worked with. The end-to-end process was seamless and the quality of materials / workmanship is excellent. During the bidding process, Mark was helpful with challenges we faced with the propery line (hillside property neighbor dispute). He also was great in working out a solution to a separate problem that arose during installation. Mark's team has been with him for years and it showed. They were professional, prompt, courteous and the quality of their work is excellent. We are very particular when working with contractors and were extremely pleased with Finest Fence. They are the best. They came and gave us a great estimate. They were on time and did the job when they said they'd would and finished when they said they're gonna do. They went above and beyond because I wanted to change a gate. I didn't like the way the gate looked. We should have chosen a different gate. They put the gate in. It looks just phenomenon. They really do a nice job. We used them twice.

Good estimate and nice people

The job I called Finest Fence to bid on was a shared fence between myself and a neighbor. It was a little complicated in that it required several different invoices since my neighbor was willing to pay for a basic fence whereas I wanted something a bit nicer and taller. There were two companies between whom there was no daylight in their professionalism and presentation. One of these companies was Finest Fence. Mark is a very thorough guy. He knows his stuff and was willing to drive from Simi to Burbank at the end of the day when it was pouring rain to give his estimate of the job. His estimate, unlike many of the others I read, was broken down into line items rather than it being one big figure so you could see exactly where the money was being spent and where economies could be made or not. He also brought a book showing examples of fences which made discussing the project much easier and offered a bunch of knowledge on the problems you can encounter with less able contractors. In short he sold value rather than exclusively price. Ultimately I chose to go with the other company because of how they structured their invoice, and they were a little less expensive. I couldn't really tell them apart and felt sure either would have been an excellent choice. You should certainly include Finest Fence amongst the contractors you are considering for your next fence job.

We landscaped our backyard and now have a new patio and hammock in the backyard near the side of the house. We wanted more privacy than the wrought iron gate provided (none). We called Finest Fence and they came the same day to provide an estimate. He offered a metal mesh screen that had small holes that covered the entire gate opening. He custom built the cover and installed it in four days. It was welded onto the existing gate, painted black to match the existing gate, all for $200.00. Very happy with it and the company. Would definitely recommend them and use them again for any fencing or gate work needed.

The owner, Mark Kaesberg, was very responsive to our questions and his design experience helped quickly narrow down our selection when he came over to provide the estimate and view the area. I was able to describe what I was considering and he readily pointed out the pro's and con's of the various options. I was extremely happy with the resulting selection. His crew that came to do the job was very professional, well organized, and systematic in their approach to the work. Progress ended up being interrupted by rain, but they were able to finish up on the Saturday. The look and fit of everything is great. I've put on one coat of stain since the job (also delayed by rain) and it looks great. I'll be putting on a second coat when the whether breaks and holiday things are taken care of. I am extremely happy with the results. I think the quality of the work readily justified the pricing. We've gotten several compliments on the new gates and fencing. I feel very comfortable about recommending Finest Fence or using them again.

The owner told me about his experience with business and the professional work that they do. The quality of work they do. They only do the highest quality of work but it will last a lot longer. He does vinyl and / or wood. I would consider using them in the future.

Mark and his crew did an excellent job, he provided samples and a detailed description of what he offered plus made some great suggestions. The crew arrived on time as promised and didn't leave until the job was done. They were thoughtful to the surrounding plants etc and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves . I highly recommend them for any of your fencing needs.

I found this company plus one other on Angie's List. I also had a third bidder recommended by a neighbor. Finest Fence provided the middle price and was reasonable in negotiating the actual work to be performed. They did everything promised with a very good crew and finished the work in one day as expected.

Owner came out and was very sympathetic, but it was all talk and did nothing about the issues.

They came on time, solved the problems as they arose, corrected the questionable area and cleaned up completely.

Mark was on time, very helpful with suggestion the right type of fence. He installed it in one day & his workers were clean & efficient. Mark gave us a very fair price.

Everyone from the owner, Mark, to his office staff and the work crew from this company kept us informed of the status of the work. Their pubctuaity and follow-through were excellent. We ran into one glitch with some water line pipes that were in the way of where the fence posts had to be set. The water pipes had to be moved, which caused a delay in finishing the job. Mark worked with us to complete the job, although we were billed an additional trip charge. We are very pleased with the completed job and highly recommend Finest Fence.

I would recommend Mark and Finest Fence without hesitation. I called Mark for an estimate to install a fence and replace some gates, and he was very responsive. Within a couple of days he came to my house, gave me an estimate, and consulted with me about the style of the fence. I had vague idea of what I want, but Mark was extremely helpful in making suggestions, working through ideas, and coming up with the easiest, most cost-effective, and beautiful fence for my yard. I wanted very high quality and I wanted something unique and custom for my yard. He was able to provide both. They built the fence and the gates at my house, so I was able to oversee, watch, and customize every detail of the fence and gates. They were very easy to deal with, extremely experienced and professional, and talented. I was able to schedule them within a week of contacting them, and they showed up on time, and worked tirelessly to finish the job in two days. The finished product is beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. They also recommended others for staining, and other jobs I needed done. This has been one of the best contracting experiences I've had.

Mark was at our house on two different occasions for several different quotes. Mark was always on time and very professional. He is a very straight forward, kind, courteous, no nonsense kind of guy. I liked him right away and appreciated the time he spent with me going over the finer details of the job. He offered us the best price with the best materials. The workers showed up on time and finished the job the very same day. The fence looks exactly how I envisioned it and we couldn't be happier. We will be installing more new fencing in the near future and Mark will be the only call I make. Thanks to Mark and his team for doing an outstanding job.

He was prompt, on time and courteous; there was nothing I did not dislike about him. I looked at samples of his work and it looked good. His price was quite lower than the only other quote I got so I plan to go with him. His quoted price was $2,000.

I solicited bids from four of the top-rated fence contractors in the San Fernando valley area. While Mark, the President of Finest Fence was not the cheapest, he was prompt, prepared and the most comprehensive and direct of the four. His bid was also modular in the sense that you got a price for a specific style and as you added on additional components they were clearly priced so that you could do a complete comparison with other bids.I decided on a board-on-board redwood fence with a 2x6 top cap and an additional center support rail (structurally better and very sound as Finest Fence uses a structural steel post system as opposed to the 4x4 wood posts used by most of the competitors.) Another aspect that I liked about Mark was that he was unwilling to use the existing posts from a chain link section of fence that I was replacing while the other companies styled their bids using the existing posts. The reason Mark did not want to do this is that the existing posts were spaced 10' apart as opposed to the 7' spacing he wanted for the fence - structurally this was a better end product. The all in price for the fence was $39.00 LF, about $6.00 more than the cheapest bid I got and $5.00 less than the vinyl fence bid I received. I called Mark on Monday to tell him that I decided to go with his company and we scheduled the job to start that Wednesday. On Wednesday morning 2 of the 3 person crew arrived on time at 8 AM. I spoke with them regarding replacing the existing gate, which I originally was going to keep as it was functioning fine. However, aesthetically it did not fit and if I was going to change the look of the pool area now would be the appropriate time. They called Mark and we consulted on the style and cost. The cost was $109 LF.The crew began to strip out the existing fence. They were very methodical in their approach and minimized the clean up, which they did a good job of by the end of the job. The first day ended at about 7PM. They completed the original job within the day. Because I added the gate they had to get additional materials and was able to complete the instillation by noon the following day.Excellent all-around experience. And this reinforces my commitment to deal with small business owners and remember that it is true - you get what you pay for.

They arrived on time and after setting up, they demolished the existing fence and disposed of the detritus. They then proceeded to build the new fence. They had anticipated finishing the job in one day but ran a bit short of materials. However they came back the following morning and finished the job completely to our satisfaction.

Their work was good, but I did not like some of the stuff that they did. Their price was fair. They did two jobs for me, but I would not use them again, especially after their second job.
