CMT is a smaller but very personable company. CMT treats it's customers as they would want to be treated. I am very easy going and try to do everything I can to work WITH my customers and THERE schedules. CMT is not a company that low ball bids to get a job and then looks for every chance to work in additional charges. I do everything I can with in reason to keep the price per Bid.
Jason is the best! Originally had the work done by someone else and they did such a horrible job that I had to have Jason from CMT come out undo all of the their work and start over. Jason did a beautiful job from start to finish. He was very nice and punctual and exceptionally clean. I had a small grip with the color of the hearth stone and Jason was able to come out the next day and put some stone enhancer on to darken the stone and made it all come together perfectly. He really is a class act and does exceptional work.
Description of Work: Removed Fireplace stone and built up the hearth and installed stacked stone and hearth stone and then grouted and sealed everything.

He still gave me an estimate for filling in one side but he told me that I shouldn't hire him and I should just leave it the way it was. We went the next week and got gas logs to put in it. It is beautiful and has been working ever since. It is wonderful. He saved us $200-$300 for somebody to just come in and brick it up. He was a super nice guy. He didn't charge us anything. He suggested a guy to do our mantel that we are going to use.
Description of Work: We have a double sided fireplace and were told we couldn't use it because it was only set up for a single flue. We called him to seal up one side so we could use it. He did some tests and said that it was a perfectly good fireplace and that it would work even though it was a double opening.

I have a 1960's ranch with one of those big double-sided fireplaces that divide the living and dining room. I was never remodeled and had the original brick facade. Being such a huge elemnent in the 'great room' area, I thought it would need to be updated. After reviewing all the options there are with regards to remodeling a fireplace (and there are many!), it was decided that a stone veneer would be applied, but that the hearth would be re-built, with the hearth wrapping around the entire fireplace and having a 'floating' effect, both of which would add a contemporary twist. So the search was on for a mason. Of the four masons companies I interviewed, Jason was the more responsive and energetic of the bunch. I walked him through what was wanted and we discussed all the details, which involved applying the stone in a very tight, 'no mortar' look, and rebuilding the hearth so that it gave the impression of floating a few inches off the floor. 'No problem'. He brought over samples of stone and was intregal in the final decision on what stone to go with (K2's Ocean Mist). On day one, Jason and his two-man crew began by removing the existing hearth and built a temporary wood frame within which concrete would be poured to form the basis of the hearth. Before the concrete was poured, they installed iron rebar where the concrete will be to strengthen it. Then they began installing the veneer. A couple of times there was a stone that was too 'funky' -looking, ie: mottled or overy spotted, that didn't really look right and they were happy to remove it, even after it had been installed and surrounded by other stone. The hearth cover is honed absolute black granite tile, which was cut to have a miter edge (by request), so that the edge comes to a point. The tile was 24and quot; x 24and quot; in size and was cut to fit on the 6and quot; thick hearth. The whole process once they started took about 2.5 weeks, with a couple of days off to allow the poured concrete to dry. Jason would sometimes send an update with an attached picture via email or text while the work was in progress, so if you are technologically inclined, you will find this appealing. I believe he has a Facebook page with pics, so you may check out more of his work there. Jason was a pleasure to work with, very personable, and obviously takes pride in his work. He stood by his word on our agreement and the quote he gave me, even when the stone turned out to be more expensive (the supplier mis-quoted him). A very stand-up guy. Jason and his crew are true artists, and I absolutely love the way the fireplace turned out. The entire experience was a joy, and I will be using him again for some patio work in the future.
Description of Work: Applied stone veneer to brick fireplace and chimney, and built a floating wrap-around hearth.

Jason was prompt, professional. Worked around my schedule. The wall looks terrific, the drainage ditch he suggested, as we had a problem with water pooling on our cement patio, works very well. He is honest and addressed all our concerns. Would definitely recommend, and use again.

Our experience with Jason and CMT Construction was terrific. He was responsive and prompt from our initial meeting to get an estimate done. He was very accommodating and fit us in after a large job and before he started another one because of our time deadline. His crew showed up early each morning (imagine that!), Jason was at the job site many mornings to check in with his crew and us. Each day the job site was left clean when the crew left and there was little to no disruption of any of our property or our schedules. Jason finished the job a couple days earlier than he had indicated and we were very pleased with the price, the job and the results. We were very hesitant about working with a contractor due to poor experiences we had in the past; however, I would hands down recommend CMT Construction and Jason for any construction, masonry job you have. He is awesome! Thanks Jason.
Description of Work: 135 feet of block wall replaced, concrete work, a small stucco job and a couple fixes to retaining walls.
It went very well. Jason and his crew removed the existing tile, which was coming loose, and the drywall. They laid down paper to protect my hallway as they moved in and out. Jason next brought me a selection of tile from which to choose, and I chose one. He had been concerned about the condition of the wood and the plumbing behind the tile. The wood was still in good condition, but a galvanized pipe was rusty, and he advised me to have my plumber take a look at the plumbing. After my plumber installed a new copper pipe and new valves, Jason installed the new tile. I now have a beautiful new tile wall.
Description of Work: Removed existing tile and drywall on the wall above my bathtub and installed new tile and hardbacker. C.M.T. Construction does concrete, masonry and tile, which are what those initials stand for.
