 + 0 moreI called to make an appointment for them to come out, diagnose the problem causing the leak, and fix it. He (whoever answered the phone; Mr. Caravaggio? he didn't identify himself) asked me to describe the leak, then told me three different easy ways (I mean SO EASY a person with no abilities of any kind could do them) to narrow down the cause and location of the leak. He said if, as a result of those tests, it appeared we have a slab leak somewhere, he could refer us to a good leak detection company that he works with regularly. They would determine the exact location of the leak, and then he could come in and try to reroute the pipe, instead of having to jackhammer open the slab. I was very pleased that he spent 15 minutes on the phone helping me figure out the problem, instead of charging me $89 to come to my house and do the tests that any homeowner could do him/herself. I also appreciate that he would try to preserve my floor and my slab by creatively rerouting a pipe (if that proves to be the answer) instead of destroying my hardwood floor and breaking through the slab itself. If it turns out we need a plumber, this or any other time, I will definitely hire them!
Description of Work: He hasn't performed any services (yet); he told me how I could narrow down the cause and location of a leak in my shower, so I could determine if a plumber is even what we actually need.

Description of Work: I have never actually written a review on home service before today. Quite frankly,I never really had good reason to as my past experiences with plumbers has been less than wonderful. In this case I originally contacted Mr. Caravaggio after I signed up for Angies list a few months ago. I joined Angie's after I received a quote of almost $500 to fix a running toilet. That was ridiculous and for those that want to know that company was Schulke. When I asked how the price to fix the toilet could be more than the cost of replacing it their response was "we need to make a profit". I did not make that up and needless to say I passed on them performing the job. That's when I joined Angie's and contacted Caravaggio plumbing after reading great reviews from Angie's. Mr. Caravaggio came out " for a free estimate"' ,unheard of these days, and was told the Job would cost $197. That was more than 1/2 off the prior estimate. What's even more impressive is that this company suggested we take pictures of the toilet before he came to make sure they would have all the parts that may be needed. The other company not only charged a 75.00 service fee but also told us they did not have all parts needed on their truck. Therefore they would need to come back another day. While my initial experience with Caraavggio was excellent, my most recent encounter was even better. I contacted Caravaggio again a few days ago since my toilet was not filling up to an appropriate water level. Mr Caravaggio not only showed up promptly but was kind enough not to charge me even though the issue was minor. The tube that connects into The toilet when taking the kid off was disconnected. This was something I could have checked but did not. Anyway, he showed to take care of something that really did not require his assistance and did not charge me. Bottom line is I would strongly recommend this company to anyone who wants an excellent and honest plumber.

Plumber did not have part & explained that he would have to go out & purchase part, because it is a specialty knob. Said he would charge for trip to store. Everything was repaired in less than 1.5 hours, including trip to local parts store.

 + -1 moreEasy enough to replace the sink, but the shower needed a much different repair (full tile job) Claudio came out and did the faucet, then a week later I had him return to replace the fixtures in my shower before the tile guys get started. Excellent work all around, nice communication and I would certainly use Claudio again.

My gas line had to be capped by a certain date which got done. He arrived on time and got the job done quickly. He was very pleasant and professional.

Claudio returned the call promptly, and we agreed on a time, and that we would confirm the following week.On the scheduled day, Claudio called to request if he could change the time, which was fine with me. He showed up on time, was professional, friendly, and appeared to know his business (he's the expert - what do I know?).He repaired both toilets quickly and efficiently. I asked him to check another couple of things, which he did quickly, and gave me regular status reports, along with his recommendations.Claudio was finished in less than 3 hours - including a trip to Home Depot. I feel confident in his work, and comfortable with him in my hoome. I would hire Claudio again without hesitation. I would also recommend him to others.

 + -1 moreThe leak detector company had come a few days before to identify which pipe was leaking and where the leak was occurring. Claudio from Caravaggio Plumbing came out to give us an estimate after normal working hours. He gave us a straightforward answer and estimation of the charges. The day he came out to fix the leak, he was on time and arrived prepared. He promptly did the re-route of our cold water pipe from the source where it came into the house to the back bathroom through our attic. Our leak was gone and we are now able to sleep peacefully, without imagining a huge sink hole swallowing up our bedroom. We also had him replace an old main shutoff valve and a pressure relief valve at the front of the house. He cleaned up after the work was done and the final price was in the range of his original estimate. We were very pleased with Claudio's work and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a professional and honest plumber.

 + 0 moreClaudio was great, I discovered my water was leaking badly and called in the late afternoon. He returned my call within 30 minutes. He had someone at my house the next morning to remove the old water heater. By the afternoon I had hot water. I will use him again.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced with a new water heater. Claudio replaced a leaking shutoff valve, added new supply lines, added copper pipe to the relief valve and checked the water pressure.

 + -1 moreWhen I noticed that the sprinkler line in the large flower planter located in our front lawn had sprung a leak, I called Claudio on his cell phone. We had used his business in the past and were very satisfied overall. Claudio responded in his usual friendly and professional style. He was able to come over that very day and repair the leak for a reasonable price. Though the job was messy, he got it done quickly and was able to return the planter to its original condition. We will be sure to keep him in mind if we have similar repair issues in the future.
Description of Work: The sprinkler line in our front lawn had sprung a leak and water was flowing freely from that leak. The line needed to be dug up, inspected and repaired. In addition, the lawn needed to be returned to its original condition. Claudio performed all of these services in his usual prompt, competent and professional manner.

He worked me in to his scheduled appointments and was apologetic for the delay. He quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to fix the entire leak with equipment from his truck. Pricing was very fair and we will definitely use him again.

 + -1 moreI had a terrible leak under the kitchen sink. It was coming from the fitting that connects the faucet and the cold water valve. The line had erroded and was spraying so much water that it damaged the wood and wall underneath the sink. It was definitely an issue that could not wait to be repaired. I went on Angie's list to find a plumber. I called Claudio at Caravaggio plumbing and left a message late in the evening on 6/3/2012. Then on 6/4/2012 early in the AM I called a second plumber. The second plumber returned my call right away but, the issue was that they could not assist me until the evening of the next day. This was a job that could not wait that long. Then Claudio returned my call right after i spoke to the other plumber. I gave him more details on my dilemma and he told me that he would try to fit me in later in the day. That he would call me around 3 P.M. to give me a better ETA. He called around 3:09 P.M. to let me know that he just finished with a sewer line repair and that he was leaving Burbank to come assist me. He was very prompt. He arrived to the house with his assistant, introduced himself and his assistant then took a look at the situation. I had already purchased a new faucet and let him know that I just wanted to go ahead and replace the entire faucet. I had previous issues with this faucet and just wanted to get rid of it. He completed the job very efficiently and cleaned up as he went. Great work, professional, no-nonsense. I will definitley use him again for any plumbing issues.

 + -1 moreIt was wet, again, under our sink - after we had finally gotten rid of the nasty smell from the disposal leak. We realized that the walter filter unit was leaking this time. We called Claudio Caravaggio. He arrived, again, and again offered us the option of buying our own (which he said might be cheaper) and having him do the installation or his doing it all. We chose that latter option, again. He got and installed a new water filter. It was Friday before Labor Day and he was running short on time, so, he said he needed to come back (again) because the filtered hot/cold dispenser spigot was now making a whistling sound when you tried to use it - and the hot water dispenser part was no longer usable. He was again poiite, clean, efficient and cleaned up really well after himself. An expensive experience, but, I could have gone shopping for the filter myself and gotten a cheaper one I am sure, but, I just didn't want to bother.

He was able to juggle his schedule and accommodate me. He came the next morning. I thought I might just need garbage disposal repair. But the disposal could not be repaired so I asked him to replace it. Claudio drove to his supplier, came back and installed the new disposal. He also took care of my clogged kitchen drain and replaced a worn dishwasher hose. He was very professional and friendly. I was very happy with his service. He also liked my dogs and they liked him. What more could I ask for?

 + -1 moreCalled Claudio and got an approximate estimate for the work. He picked up a new toilet for me, and brought it with him when he came to install it. He removed the old toilet and hauled it away when he was finished. He installed the new toilet, installed the Brondell Swash 1000 seat I had purchased previously and hooked it up. He also installed a second Brondell in another bathroom on the existing toilet. Claudio came when he said, was thorough and professional in his work, and did a fine job. He cleaned up area, and made the whole experience a pleasure. Will definitely call him again for any future plumbing job.

I was concerned that the problem was roots in the drain, but it turned out the girls had put sanitary napkins down the toilet! They are professional, honest and prompt. I recommended them to a friend for another job and they also had a very positive experience.
Description of Work: I was out of town on business when my main drain line backed up in my house. Caravaggio had to clean out the line from a roof vent since I did not have a ground level clean-out.

We originally thought it was the pull-out hose but when looking for replacements could not tell what brand the faucet was (it was installed prior to purchase of the condo). Claudio came to look at it, and it turned out to be a Pegasus brand which is Home Depot only. The inside valve was leaking and would be a hassle to repair .... plus I always thought the faucet was big for the sink. So, bought a new faucet, and he came and installed it. It's working great, and no hassle for me, which was really great. We played phone tag a lot to schedule an appointment, but just because he was so busy, he never failed to get back to me and I found him very professional and knowledgeable, and very forthcoming with lots of information which I always appreciate. Overall a very good experience, I would hire him again!

 + -1 moreThe vanity was installed higher than usual and he had to cut a hole in the base for the trap to fit, I asked him to make it as neat as possible and wow it looks as if it came from the manufacturer that way. He also looked at an issue I was having with the new shower installation and advised me in the best way to proceed as well as reserching the correct parts for me so that I could do an easy fix myself.
Description of Work: Claudio completely plumbed in a new custom bathroom vanity, facet installation, water connections and drain connection.
