Jeff and Spencer showed up at my home at 9:15am on 9/14/15 (Note: 2 people in 2 trucks). Jeff announced their arrival by telephoning from the truck…outside my house. One asked “what was my concern.” I stated the air was not cool enough. I also told them that there was a power outage the day before. We went to the A/C unit in the back yard. Spencer removed the rectangular panel and stated that the capacitor was broken (bulging from the top). Jeff announced that they could not do the inspection because of the broken capacitor. He said the capacitor costs $265.00. I was caught. (Note: The temperature all week was 100 degrees plus.) I said to put it in. Note: Jeff NEVER suggested to temporarily replace the capacitor to do the inspection, then remove it, afterwards...a 5-minute task. He came back with a like capacitor model. Spencer went back to get a wider one. Spencer cut the metal to get the wider capacitor to fit. Spencer then took measurements regarding the amount of freon. Using 2 containers and a scale, Spencer said that he put 5 pounds of freon in. Jeff said that my unit holds 17+ pounds. Jeff went into the house to check the airflow. He returned outside. They gathered their items and went to their trucks. Jeff returned to my house. We sat at my dining room table. He gave me a bill for $515.00. On that bill, he charged me $265.00 for the run capacitor, $250.00 for 5 lbs of freon ($50.00 per pound). He deducted $100.00 as a teacher discount and $36.00 “because.” I gave him my VISA card. He said if I used the VISA card, he would have to charge me $9.00 extra. Still in payment shock, I wrote him a check in the full amount (Note: On the receipt, the VISA card logo is printed on the top right). When they left, I read reviews on Angie’s List: 5 months ago, B. Frank wrote one on the capacitor. He said, “if a serviceman comes on your property and wants to charge you more than $150.00, tell him to leave.” The capacitor is between $4-$10.00 at Home Depot. I feel taken and wronged. I understand that “No good deed goes unpunished” and am grateful for the $136.00 discount. However, if this company operated in an ethical and professional manner, no discount would be necessary I do not trust them. I do not trust their whole performance of filling my unit with freon. I question why Spencer cut the metal inside the panel. Was the fatter capacitor cheaper? More available in his truck? It is a horrible feeling to be taken by people when you are at their mercy. I want just charges for materials and services rendered. Was I charged extra because 2 people showed up? Was I charged extra for their time and labor, twice? Was I charged extra to pay for their gasoline from Simi Valley to Encino? Everyone has to make a living…but not like this! Please help me get some monies returned. I do not have the assistance I would have had had I paid with my VISA card as I wanted to. Thank you.
Description of Work: I made an appointment w/ owner Jeff from All Valley Air Heating and AIr Conditioning on/about 9/11/2015 for 9/14/2015 at 10:30 am for the Angie’s List deal: $49.00 for an 18-Point Air Conditioning Tune-Up with $49.00 Credit Towards Repairs. Spencer replaced the run capacitor (installed a larger one than the one removed, necessitating cutting metal to fit) and appeared to put freon into the unit.

Ms.[removed member name], Again I want to Thank You for purchasing a AC tune UP from Angieslist, To Be perfectly honest Im Surprised with your Review of our company and service,In fact to be honest you are the first one in 30 years that has ever had an issue. We arrived to your home on time, with two techs that you are not paying for two but we find doing many calls in one area its faster to have two, OUR CHOICE but not an extra cost, Second you purchased a 49.00 AC TUNE up.. Meaning the unit needed to run to perform any testing or to find any problems with the unit. Your Run Cap was blown, meaning unless it was replaced there was nothing we could do to complete the tune up. I told you the price and what may be needed once we had the unit running, There was NO PRESSURE to have these services done, YOU may it very clear that you didnt have the money and to be kind.I gave you the Cost of the install of the part and you said GO with it. Yes we had to enlarge the hole a little, Many brands of run caps are different sizes and shapes today, we try tohave as many as we can but at times you need to adjust for that, Once the part was put in , it started with no problem and we were able to finish the tune up, We checked temps and found temp way off, We hookeed up our gauges and found the unit very low with R22 freon, We inspected to see any signs of a leak, there were done, You said no one had ever serviced the unit, after reading the plate on the side of your unit it said it had 200 plus OZ of freon. Yes thats alot but i Didnt purchase the unit, It is what it is, At that time is said you may be 3 lb or more low of froen and it would be 50.00 a LB for R22.... again you said to be kind and go ahead and do it. IN fact the unit took over 7 LBs, and I was kind only billing for 5lbs, and this isnt a random number, bottles are wieght each time to get the poundage, We got our pressures and temps in the house, Check duct that had it own issues and was explained, we checked filter and cleaned up , I knew were concern about the cost. BUT AT NO TIME did you say no i cant , so I wrote up the bill, between the cost of the run cap and freon it was a little over 500.00, Remember you purchased a AC TUNE not a complete AC repair. YOU being a teacher Yes i gave you a discount, Its all over my web site and im happly to do that, I didnt charge you the true poundage for the freon, In all the discounts i did give you , it even included the cost of your purchase of the AC tune up. You were so happy and even in tears that we were so nice and so helpful, and told me of the bad experiances you did have.. In fact when I left I thought we had done a good deed for the day and really helped someone that really needed it, I think if you spent as much time calling around and pricing what i did to others in the area a. As you did posting this comment. I think you will find out that we did you RIGHT and not the sad Comment you have posted......I take great pride with all our customers and our comments for years proves it, I guess Its always true we cant please everyone, even when you do it not enough. I guess you thought you were getting a complete AC repair for 49.00. Im sorry for your confusion. But I made sure you were aware of everything as we were going and you could of said no at any time.And we would of gladly cleaned up and left. Jeff was very prompt with his bid, which came in substantially less than others for exact same products. He Installed on date promised. Very professional throughout process, which included disposal of old units and cleanup. Exceptional service. Very pleased with the job that Jeff did. He installed Trane Air Conditioning with a Coleman Heater. I live in a Mobile Home, so Coleman was the only one that would fit in the unit. Everything is operating well and I couldn't be happier with the units installed. I would not hesitate to recommend Jeff for Heating and Air Conditioning. Thanks, Jeff.

They provide exceptional service, with attention to detail and especially value. They did a large job correcting all poorly installed equipment at our condo building, and were just above and beyond exceptional.
Description of Work: They removed all A/C units on the roof of our condo building for our new roof installation, they rebuilt the pads and added pads that had been missing, they correctly reinstalled all of the A/C units eliminating the noise nuisance that had been caused by the original poor installation, they repaired the co2 exhaust system in the garage that had been incorrectly installed with large holes throughout, they installed exhaust fans. In summary, they corrected everything that had been incorrectly installed by the builder of the building.

Called several local A/C repair companies. Two responded but All Valley Air was able to work on it at least a day before the other. I had to leave work early in order to meet at the appointed time. He could not have been more punctual. We both pulled up to the house at the same time. Servicing went well. Bad electrical contactor was detected and replaced immediately. Gauges were hooked up and freon levels were checked and found to be normal. Outdoor unit needed cleaning. It had leaves, dirt and debirs on the inside and the coils were dirty. Inside was vacuumed and then the coils were hosed down to improve efficiency. Indoor unit was inspected including the air filter. All checked out okay. Unit has been keeping the house cool for about two weeks now and we've had no problems.
Description of Work: Tech diagnosed and replaced bad contactor in outside A/C unit. Tech followed up with complete inspection and testing of the A/C system before leaving.
