Roofing for condo building (approx 30 units) some years ago. My unit alone had $1,700 in damage done. Air conditioner unit damaged and filled in with roofing material. Sky lights damaged. After numerous phone calls I was told to "jump in a f*****g lake". I did attempt court action (3 attempts to serve), but was unable to find a true business location. As it turns out, the roof began leaking after 4 years.

I contracted for a reroof with this company (original license number: 514920, since revoked; new license number: 888037) after experiencing several leaks in the original roof, which was at least 20 years old. Unfortunately, the new roof had as many, if not more, leaks as the one replaced due to the lack of any metal flashing installed around the roof penetrations (chimney, 2 skylights, various vent pipes) and generally sloppy installation as evidenced by the liberal use of Henrys to patch gaps and leaks after the roofing job had been completed. I spent the better part of 18 months trying (and failing) to get the roofer to repair the leaks and install proper flashing (including sending two certified letters toward the end of the period, which were refused delivery). The lack of metal flashing was eventually described by the contractor as an extra cost item not covered by the roofing contract, and that any additional work to repair the roof would be additional in cost to that already paid. I refused to pay the extra cost, since I had already paid for this work to be done. I ended up filing a complaint with the CSLB, which took action against this contractor for home improvement contract violation (citation #2 1992 001105). The contractor subsequently had his license revoked for a similar violation three years later (which is a matter of public record at the CSLB web site) and has since resumed work under the current business name (same owner is listed for both licenses). All documentation of my experience with this contractor, including copies of certified letters sent to the contractor and the CSLB, are available upon request.
Description of Work: Contracted for a tar & gravel reroof to replace an old roof of the same composition.
