Absolutely thrilled with our experience working with Oury and his team at Universal Home Design! We had a vision to transform our modest 2-bedroom, 1 1/2-bathroom home into a spacious 2-story, 4-bedroom, 3 1/2-bathroom dream house, and thanks to Oury, that vision became a reality beyond our expectations. From start to finish, Oury was a true professional. He took the time to really understand our needs, listened to our ideas, and helped us make choices that would fit both our lifestyle and budget. He was in constant communication—he kept us in the loop every step of the way, always answering our questions and offering helpful suggestions. He had a recommendation for every aspect of the build, and every person he recommended us to work with was just as professional, kind and detailed.

Oury at Universal Home Design did a spectacular job on the renovation of our condo in Pasadena. We completed two total bathroom renovations, replaced a fireplace, and touched up a variety of other small projects throughout the home. Oury set a fair price with a clear understanding that I would pay for all of the finishes (such as tile, vanities, faucets, etc...). I was out of town for the entire project, and Oury communicated with me every step of the way, always checking in to confirm how I wanted things done and sending photos as each phase of construction was completed. He and his team were quick, efficient, trustworthy, and they paid attention to every detail. The final product is beautiful. I have never had such a wonderful experience with a contractor, and I can't recommend him highly enough!

Satisfied customers reporting! We're writing this four months after the completion of our bathroom renovation. This was our first large project and we would undoubtedly hire Ouri again. We instinctively knew Ouri was the best fit for us after the on-site consultation. We couldn’t be happier with our home addition and renovation by Oury and his team at Universal Home Design! From the moment we met with Oury to discuss our project he was so friendly and communicative, and made us feel at ease and taken care of. The entire team was a pleasure to work with from the initial consultation through the final reveal. Since I am a licensed architect, I was able to complete the plans and take them through approval and plan check myself, but Oury was there to consult and provide answers to my questions to help make the project successful. Once I handed over the plans and a budget and schedule were agreed upon, Oury and his team took over and did an amazing job. They listened carefully to our needs and preferences, and fixed any problems or misses that would arise without any push back. The project manager, Alfredo, kept us informed every step of the way, and they were very respectful while they worked, cleaning up after themselves and keeping noise to a minimum

We felt comfortable with him from the first meeting and he was quick to respond to every question or concern. We were kept informed about work schedule and the crews were prompt and hardworking. Revised review: Here is a review for you: Ouri and his team were outstanding partners in renovating my home. The scope of work included removing load-bearing walls, repairing extensive dry rot and termite damage, building a brand new kitchen, installing new flooring, relocating a laundry room, new electrical and paint. Ouri is honest, kind, and completely on top of all scheduling. He was very good about explaining everything and was patient with all the change orders I had. Pricing was very fair. His team was professional and they are very hard workers. They were able to see my vision for the design and make it happen. I highly recommend working with Ouri and I will definitely be calling him again for any further work in the future.

Our experience in working with Universal Home Design could not have been better. Ouriel and his team really helped us understand what we needed to do and were upfront with cost and the timeline. We had the pleasure of working with Universal Home Design on a large project. Two separate colleagues referred me since they both had such positive experiences, and I valued and trusted their opinions. The scope of their projects included room additions, and a kitchen remodel, among other items. So we were happy to meet with Oury, the owner, who gave us a fair and competitive bid for our project. Our scope included the remodeling of our kitchen (including redesign), owner's suite bathroom, guest bath, and powder room; the installation of wood floors; new exterior paint, including the installation of new windows and rain gutters. The end product was amazing! Oury and his team did an excellent job, and kept within timelines and budgets. There were no hidden costs or big surprises. We only encountered a minor additional charge to replace an old galvanized pipe that was discovered. Oury was always available if we had any questions. In addition, he would confirm items with us, like fixture placement and other details before installing to ensure there was no miscommunication. When the project was done, we missed seeing him and his team since they were always so friendly and courteous. The job was also completed during the pandemic, so they wore masks and made sure to clean. We would highly recommend you reaching out to Oury at Universal Home Design for your home needs, big or small!

We first hired Oury to remodel our bathroom. He gave us a good price and was honest and fair. Oury did a fantastic job with the bathroom and helped us make design decisions and made every accommodation to make us happy. After we were so happy with the job he did, we hired him to do a complete living room and dining room and kitchen remodel. Oury had it done quickly and in budget, and again did a fantastic job with every change and request we had. We will be hiring him to do some exterior work next, I don't see us ever using a different contractor. Before hiring Oury we felt like we interviewed every contractor in town. I give this company 5 out of 5 Stars on my recent Kitchen Reconstruction Project. I had significant water damage in my kitchen from a burst pipe under my sink and needed to renovate my entire kitchen because of it. I got several bids to do the work and many of the contractor were all over the map with respect to their pricing nor did they provide detailed estimates for me to really examine the costs. When Universal Home Design came to do their bid, they were upfront on what needed to be done and provided a detailed bid along with samples and an estimate as to how long the work would take. Ouriel Lousky was very easy to work with and was very thorough in answering all our questions. Even questions sent via email/text were answered promptly. He provided a lot of pictures as well of projects he was either working on or had finished. The quality of the work through those pictures in addition to his upfront attitude sold us and we hired them to do the work. It took under 2-weeks to complete out kitchen from beginning to end. The crew always arrived between 8-9 am and were very courteous. I’ll also mentioned that they were also very quiet while doing their work which allowed me to work upstairs and my kids to attended class from home (due to COVID-19) without any significant interruptions from noise. In addition, each day the crew would announce when they were leaving for the day. We were extremely happy with the quality of the work that was done upon completion. I can’t recommend this company enough! I should mention that there were no change orders required as part of my project and if Ouriel was able to get me a better deal on an item (cabinet knobs for example) he would offer it. If you are thinking of having some work done to your house, give these guys a chance. Let them do a bid for you and look through the examples of the work that they have done. You can’t go wrong!! We had an overwhelmingly positive experience working with Ourie and the team at Universal Home Design. Throughout the whole process, Ourie worked with integrity and an incredible attention to detail. Ours wasn't a huge job, but I never felt like we were a low priority to the team. Ourie came out several times to scope out the project before we began work. His quote was competitive with others and his timeline was much faster. We were living in an Airbnb with our toddler while the work was done. Ourie understood that we were eager to feel settled, so he asked his team to work nights and weekends to get the job done. The team scraped our popcorn ceilings, updated our electrical, repaired our roof, demolished a few structures in our backyard, and gave our whole house a fresh coat of paint. The changes made an incredible difference. We're so happy with the quality of the work. In addition, I felt very safe with Ourie and his team's COVID-19 protocols. Ourie always wore two masks and maintained a safe distance. His team was respectful and thoughtful about the safety protocols as well. We can't recommend Universal Home Design enough and look forward to working with them again and again as we update our home.

I could not be happier with Universal Home Design, and the job they did on my bathroom and kitchen remodel. I started looking for contractors when the smaller of the two baths in my home became unusable due to plumbing issues with the original steel pipes in my home, which was built in 1948. I did not have a big budget, but I was hoping to be able to address my kitchen as well as the bath. While my kitchen was functional, it was very worn down. My wife and I decided to hire Universal Home Design because although I collected bids from both large and small companies, only Universal Home Design sent the owner of the company, Ouriel Lousky, to discuss the bid. Ouriel communicated a genuine commitment to work with us to get us through the job, at a budget that we were comfortable with, without sacrificing quality. From start to finish, Ouriel always communicated that our satisfaction was a priority to him and the company. To that end, he threw in, at no extra cost, a lot of extras and upgrades that were beyond the scope of his contractual obligation. When remodeling in an old house such as mine, extra work is likely to come up. In my case, we discovered that I would be best situated by re-piping all the plumbing in my house. Also, the City required that my main electrical service panel be moved from one side of the house to the other. Oury gave me a very fair price on this work that can't imagine covered much more than his costs. With respect to the crews, the job was always adequately manned, and the workers were very respectful and neat. They cleaned up at the end of every day, they protected all my surrounding finishes, floors, etc., and were even spotted on several occasions cleaning the floor well beyond the work area at the end of the day. Debris was always removed in a timely manner, and the workmanship is top notch. Despite the re-piping and major extra electrical work, the job was completed within the original schedule, and within the budget agreed upon. There were no surprises, except for how beautifully everything came out! My whole family is still getting used to having such a beautiful kitchen, and new bathroom. I am looking forward to having my extended family over for our annual Thanksgiving get together, which I always host. Much thanks to Ouriel and his crews. Again, we could not be happier, and we recommend Universal Home Design without any reservation.

Ouriel from Universal Home Design converted my detached garage into a studio with a kitchen and bathroom, from July through October 2020. We were referred to him via friend who underwent a garage conversion the year prior. Our original garage was 450 ft. A 94 square foot axdition was added on for the bathroom and laundry area. The tile installed in our shower looks incredible! The studio is spacious, and we are super happy with the work that was done! The process from start to finish was organized and straightforward. Payments were made at different steps along the way based on the contract. Ouriel was easily reachable via phone and text the entire time. He answered all our questions and concerns, and got back to us quickly, which is not always the case in contract work. We actually recommended his firm to one of neighbors down the street. If you want an ADU conversion done, we would highly recommend him.

When we originally contacted Universal, it was to get a quote on a small bathroom remodeling job. Very Small. they were one of the few contractors that responded promptly, ( Oury came out the same day) after speaking with him about the bathroom, we asked him what it would cost to make changes to our kitchen. He took his time and gave us a fair quote. Unlike other contractors he didn't try to 'force' us into making a decision, he was polite and knowledgeable We had time constraints that he agreed to work around, and finished the job about 4 days earlier than expected. The quality of workmanship and the reliability of Jose and Jorge was wonderful. They cleaned up at the end of each day, washed down the areas in the yard where their materials were, were extremely efficient and trustworthy. I cannot thank Oury, Jose and Jorge for the way my home now looks. it is amazing and I highly recommend them.

Ourie and his team made this project seem easy. They were fast, efficient, and on-budget. They turned our decrepit old master bathroom into a thing of beauty. Already thinking ahead to our next project, so we can hire them again.

Universal Home Design did a beautiful job on our guest bathroom remodel. Our bathroom was old and outdated and we wanted it completely redone, which included swapping the location of the toilet and sink. Ourie did a great job helping us through the whole process - giving us a detailed breakdown of estimated costs, suggesting a wonderful tile place to check out, giving us feedback on all the items we were picking out. We are so in love with the way it turned out and cannot thank Ourie, Jose and the rest of the team enough for their hard work.
